  1. Well, a coverless copy missing the entire first wrap, with brittle pages sold at auction a few months back for $5,923. This copy has everything except the back cover, with cream to off-white pages. 8-10K wouldn't be out of line at all. I wouldn't be shocked to see it exceed that. I agree actually... it's so hard to predict with these lower grade entry level major keys bc the supply demand thing...this book besides the tape presents pretty nicely given the grade IMHO so I would say your prolly right and we all know is all it takes is two dogs in that fight and this book will maximize it's potential!! I did see a 1.5 sell for almost 19K so what are we thinking for this book about 14-15K a point? where is Bill...that man seems to have done his homework on Bats #1 I am sure his insight would be helpful as well
  2. 8-10K? last 0.5 incomplete GPA sale was north of $7.5...I don't know what that book looked like though or what it was missing...just a guess...sparklecity seems to get get pretty good action on their bids so only time will tell...who knows I might be short with that guesstimate I think 8 would be a fair price though for both buyer and seller
  3. Very cool Man Cave cool football helmets Sure, but they're taking up valuable comic space! The safe is packed with those LOVE the room Bill!!!! awesome stuff man that Grundy, Lantern, Hawkman piece as sweeeeet!!! like the TEC 31 homage too!!! mjolnir
  4. Bought a GA SPY SMASHER from Andy!!! Everything was absolutely PERFECT!!!! Communication was awesome, grading was awesome, shipping was awesome, packing was awesome!!!! Couldn't be happier!!!! Thanks again Andy you man!!!...Do business with this man with superb confidence (thumbs u take care and thanks again, Gino
  5. I have to agree...that would be cool! (thumbs u +1... that would be sweet man I hope he can!!! Robinson is a truly iconic figure to the medium...GL and keep us all in the loop as far as what happens!! (thumbs u
  6. he does. imprint of "larson" up in the "m," some prior owner erased it. the holder is a long story. Purdy book, holder notwithstanding! cool book man!!!
  7. I am sorry I was just saying price wise IF it was universal my apologies...my point was there are many more qualified people to ask about prices on these boards when it comes to qualified and resto books than myself
  8. well this is a super important book no doubt and IMHO this book is a 2K book a point all day depending eye appeal and PQ but i am not quite as versed in the qualified and resto grades but I have been doing a lot of homework as I have been looking more into the resto market (just sitting back and learning from the Vets at this point) I would think IF this book could land a 1.5 universal 3K is a very reasonable price...the real question is if you love it for that price and are comfortable with it figuring it's for your collection
  9. you're quite welcome ..I did see that listing though and he did mention the words, "married" very clearly as one of his points to the book...he also gave like 11 or 12 pics and did accept your best offer I would assume since the listing got pulled so quickly...what grounds would you have to return it... just curious? please don't take any of these remarks as negative as I think you got yourself a really cool book there!!! I just think that the seller disclosed this information and returning it would only be due to your lack of homework or buyers remorse...IMHO
  10. NOPE just checked...same book we were talking about in the Cap 3 thread...check cousin itt's post and so on... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7325243&fpart=7 Whether the married pages are from reprints or vintage it would still get a qualified green label (thumbs u .. this is the thread u are referring to but doesn't state it is a Cap 3 just that the pages that are married are reprints...cousin itt strangely started this thread as well http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7394477#Post7394477
  11. No purple for the ink..... I'd say it would possibly get a 1.5 if it's complete with no resto.... GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u this was the eBay copy that popped up if I am not mistaken that we were discussing in the Cap 3 thread...it would get a green label qualified for married pages (thumbs u
  12. Why u got to be so bitter!? I am bitter because I didn't buy one of your Cap 33s in SDCC several years ago. You were really amused by the yellow colored German helmets on the cover. I did not realize at the time that you were The GAtor. I felt the same way about the Cap 26 he had in Chicago too many cool books!!! then again he also had a TEC 27 first one I ever saw in person...made me
  13. Why u got to be so bitter!? cool book dude!!! owning a cap 3 is nothing to be bitter about!!!!
  14. NICE BOOK SCOTT!!! I was looking forward to seeing that one once you got it... Simply a great cover there...great pick up dude congrats
  15. I saw this copy as well as I have cap 3 on notify...this book was said by the seller to have married pages so this would be a green label qualified I believe
  16. as always, it was timing. I was on a witch hunt for a copy back in 2007 and Terry Oneil, David T. Alexander, and a timely collector in Toronto all had copies. I bought Terry's first then found out David had one. The Toronto copy came along as well. All this happened within 1-2 months time. I bought them all. Traded the 3.5 to rick for a Tec 8. Sold the Toronto VG/f (staple reinforcement) to Phil Bellmore. The last (best appeal) copy, 2.5, I sold on these boards to help fund my Cap 1. words not really necessary!!! I would take the Cap #1 though too!!!!
  17. I was watching it NOT bidding on it even though I love low graders and it is on my want list...I didnt think it would reach that high to be honest as it was INCOMPLETE and Brittle...maybe if it was slightly brittle or complete but you could see chunks of it falling apart in the slab ... Either way we learn once again that even in the lowest of grades these classic books still will demand a decent chunk of change...and you were right the cover did present fairly well given the assigned grade (thumbs u Just looked a little too brittle even for this guy haha. I hear you. I may never get another shot at a sub-1k USA 7 with a decent cover. But yeah, that book was just crumbling in the case. Trust me bro I absolutely understand ya your copy is out there the hunt continues!!!! as you can see these are my type of books as well!!!! I just prefer them complete and not totally brittle (slightly I can handle!!)...I believe Dale had a pretty nice looking copy for $2500 in his sale thread...I thought real hard about that one!! In this particular case with the USA #7 the cover is sooooo cool I think I would just rather have R. Heshka (unsure of pricing as I dont have any of his pieces...YET ) or Artboy99 do me a HUGE cover recreation (he does awesome work!!!) might just have to do that that eBay USA 7 was Bill's (goldenacase). He's had it on these boards for sale not too long ago. Heshka has already done a USA 7 cover for AGGIEZ, so he won't paint that one again. I used to have three copies of USA 7. The last one was a CGC 2.5 that I sold on these boards in 2011 Great info as always Ben thanks man!!!! (thumbs u 3 USA #7's thats awesome!!! I am glad to know what Bill's eBay ID is...now I will have to throw him on my favorites list as he always has awesome books especially here on the boards...I picked up a Cap #74 from him (since have traded away ) but couldn't have been more pleased with the transaction!!!
