  3. sweet added to the want list!! is this a Schomburg cover I can't make out the notes on label? It is not Schomburg. It probably says Tarpe Mills story and art. thanks man!!! just confirming... so is it correct that Tarpe did the covers then for #2-4 and Alex the covers for #1 & #5-8? they are all really cool!! I use to own a copy. I'm sure it's a Schomburg cover. Tarpe Mills did the interior. Looks a bit like Schomburg and it's loosely credited to him on GCD. GOT MINE!! thanks to Ted over at Superworld!! (thumbs u Doesnt clean up as nice as the Straw-Mans but fits quite well into the collection
  4. I think it's something akin to, "Get em', that Sub-mariner is a BAD MAMMA JAMMA!!" no really I HAVE NO CLUE!! wondered the same thing!!
  5. I have only witnessed one in the past and IT......WAS......EPIC!!! I just watched but it was fun!! (thumbs u

  9. +1 Wowza!!!!! that is grrrrreat...for an artist who worked around the same time to re-create anothers does indeed say something about it!! Do you mind me asking how big that recreation is? it is FANTASTIC!!!!
  10. #8 is one of the tougher issues in the entire run. Impossible in grade, and definitely much harder to find than #1. I'd give it a scarcity rating of 7 or so. Thanks man (thumbs u I do see that the highest graded is a blue label 7.0!! I think it is a pinnacle or something!! I am thinking you own that right you got some sweet arse books dude!!! Thanks, but no I don't have a #8. It's definitely on the want-list. and your welcome

  12. These are all sweeeeet!!! Gotta love that Daredevil vs. Hitler and I have a particular fondness for SS #1 & 2...I just missed my #2 the other day Leave it to Mr. Bedrock to pull out a Larson copy...NICE!!! Twisty great book as usual man!!!! As I look through the Gerber's it states that Silver Streak #1 is a Gerber 6 and the #8 is a 5...Now here is question for the Vets...how accurate do we think these scarcities are? As I searched many sites and past auctions I did not see that many of either copies...Are these not that rare and the Gerbers are quite right or do they just not pop up as often do to lack of popularity? Also, the census numbers on all these books seems to be quite low
  13. Those are fantastic jb and thanks man!!! @ pmpknface I just picked up the Daredevil HC myself at one of my local comic shops!! it was probably way overpriced compared to what I could have gotten it for on Amazon or fleaBay but I like to contribute to the small business's as much as possible...I need the Silver Streak HC still just for my collection even though I have read #6-8 on comicbookplus!! It has the cover of SS #7 on it
  14. In light of all of the appreciation threads and keeping them in one place for noobs like myself to access at the drop of a dime I wanted to start one for the original Daredevil!!! Some of these Clubs are a lot tougher in the GA sector than SA because of lack of supply I suppose so its easier to do with a character sometimes than just one book in particular...I vote to go ahead and include the pre Daredevil Silver Streaks as well just to keep them all here so if you have a SS #1-5 go ahead and proudly throw them up here too Trust me we all want to see them (thumbs u plus the CLAW is pretty sweet for a villain!!! Here is my lone (for now) entry into the club...I dont think this is considered a classic Cover by CGC standards...time to re-think that one
  15. 2nd BOY WONDER!! keep em' coming man!!! and oh yeah....CONGRATS (thumbs u
  16. Great cover ! Got to your doorstep quick. Gonna CGC it ? I know right!!!!!! wipple overnighted it to me which I wasnt even expecting so you can imagine how excited I was when the Fedex man came !!!! I think I will eventually CGC this book just because I am soooo intrigued as to what they would say about it!!! This book has more tape than any other book I have ever seen in my life it is almost comical but I love it!!!! (sidenote - this was already disclosed to me and many pics were sent so I knew this before purchase) Someone in the history of this book REALLY took there time with it (amateurishly but took their time none the less and I appreciate that effort) They literally taped every single page along the edges especially the bottom right where you would turn the page....It acts almost like an assist to the turn the page actually...Unfortunately, some of the book has slightly brittled over time (also disclosed prior to sale so no suprises there) I can tell you the book SMELLS awesome and will be read later tonight after I put the women and children to bed!!! It will be a delicate read but I already sense a wonderful experience!!! Once again about slabbing it...I display my books so I probably will have it slabbed and placed on my Wall-O-Slabs somewhere with the rest of my low grade GA beauties!!! I am thinking CGC may grade this a 1.0 with a LOT of notation Now its time to hunt down a matching #7
  17. I am VERY pleased to add this little Lev Gleason GEM to my collection courtesy of a fellow boardie!!! Thanks again Dave have a great weekend in the windy city man!!!

  19. Thanks guys!!! Now I want a Pep 32 to sit next to it so I can stare at em both!!! I suppose I can just come to this thread and scroll up and down real quickly!!! Its kinda neat doing it actually checking the subtle differences side by side...Happy you posted the Pep 32 right after the Shield Wizard man its like magic!!!
  20. LOOK OUT BELOW!!!!!! I hope there is room in the MLJ POOL because I am diving in with the this low grade beauty!!! As I stated earlier I really started appreciating these early Pep covers so I went out and bought me one Yeah Yeah its not Pep #32 but what gives? Did they seriously not think we would catch this 70 years later
