  7. Maybe Take a shot at selling on here!! Are you guys including certificates or anything to denote the provenance of this vast collection?
  8. Awesome!! So how does that work you find some cool books and is Darren letting you guys sell some on commission? Are you allowed to purchase anything if see something that really catches your eye?
  9. It’s about time you posted on here!! WTTB (Welcome to the Boards) You want to REALLY learn about comics and their history and talk to some of the biggest fish in the sea This IS the place…and it’s FREE!! Can you share with the class any updates you have either about the collection or the Documentary? Obviously the teaser is out there so the cat is out of the bag!! Maybe share how the experience was taking it all in or even how you got your foot in the door in the first place it’s a very special story that deserves to be shared!! Couldn't have happened to a nicer couple of guys!!
  10. You have accomplished in a few months what would take mere mortals literally years to pull off!!
  11. Glad to see this brought up here. One of my buddies is the kid from Hatchback Comics his name is Josh he is the trailer with his father. He told me about this find quite some time ago and has pics with the Bat and Sups with his Dad. His Father and him run a small quick flip kind of business selling mostly SA and BA keys and runs books. Some of the collection is already being sold on commission just filler type books nothing crazy. I was told indeed the big stuff is going through Heritage but that was several months ago. I do hope the show gets put out there I think it would be neat to see a closer look at this massive collection. I did ask months ago if the collection had any type of Fox or esoteric WWII books and Josh said he didn’t think so but Golden Age isn’t really their bread and butter he’s more into Moon Knight etc. I am sure if there were a stack of early Tecs or Caps they would have been noted. The astonishing part was the multiples of the Silver and bronze age keys etc.
  12. No this isn’t Golden Age by any stretch BUT the character is drawn in his original form without all the hulking muscles kind of like the GA heroes and it’s just a commission I enjoy very much!! Just back from the framer not too long ago.
  13. Thanks Corey I look very much forward to seeing the rest of your treasures you pulled in as well!! Let em trickle in!! Oh man admittedly if I was in your shoes in the mid 90s my answer would have been similar so no judgement here haha!! At least you didn’t say, “Hey there is that supposed to mean something to me? Let me dig into my pocket and find you a quarter so you hit the pay phone up outside and call somebody that cares!!” 🤣 So I guess could have been worse!! He’s been gone for what 10years now but his legacy and art will carry on for many many years to come. I am sure somehow in the universe we are making up for these slights simply by recognizing his work and continuing to spread the word of his talent.
  14. Thank you so very much my friend I greatly appreciate the kind words!!
  15. I always ENJOY the heck out this thread!! Thanks @Cat-Man_America for firing it up!! 2022 was a pretty decent year for me comic purchasing wise that started out with a Bang of a Blue Ribbon I had made WTBs for since probably 2016. It’s a rag but she slots well into my humble collection. Some would say the real Pinnacle of my collection the Hero-Horror genre mashup. I also FINALLY landed the ever elusive Speed and Top Notch both issues 18 of their titles respectively. Same story cover wise (I have a preference for sure hehe) I had a Four Favorites 8 on the list for many years and somehow ended up with 2 of them!! Both low grade one being the Kurtzman File copy and the book only has 9 TOTAL copies on the census but they all seemed to come out of the woodwork at once!! So strange!! I picked up a cool little foreign Cap book just loved the cover!! I nabbed a Flash Comics 21. Not rare but hard to turn away from a classic Moldoff Hawkman especially this issue that many times lands in an oversized holder so i liked this copy as it’s nice and straight. I finished the year with the Blue Beetle 12 that will most probably be my last noteworthy purchase of 2022 but never say it’s over till it’s over. Wonderful thread I always LOVE seeing how everyone did through the year!! CHEERS and keep ‘em coming!!
  16. The Blue Beetle Patenaude Trifecta is finally complete!! Running with issues 10-12. Took quite some time to find these and they are all low grade but well presenting imo and I never gave up hope of securing them all. Couldn’t be happier!! I have had the cover alone to #12 but never did find a coverless. I guess i don’t need it anymore…Into the fireplace it goes haha JK!!!
