  1. Sheesh with all these high grade gorgeous FFs that are being posted i’m not sure if I should even post this but this is a book that is near and dear to me. Backstory it was around 1992 (I was 9 yrs old) and aside from sports I loved comics and making things out of clay. If anyone recalls Marvel had a line of cards called Marvel Universe. Me and my buddies had collected the whole 1st set a few years earlier and they had just come out with the 3rd set which I enjoyed very much. There was a card for a character named the Puppet-Master and he had this mystic clay and when I saw it i knew I needed a comic with him in it. We went to this comic/card convention that same year in a mall a few country towns over from us and I had told my parents I really wanted a Fantastic Four #8 which I knew from the card was his first appearance. Anyways I spotted one on the wall of some dealer and was super excited. I remember my folks telling me it was too expensive and to find something else (I ended up with a low grade Tales of Suspense #45 which was the $20 limit i was given and was still excited as that book ROCKS!!!.) That year for my birthday I opened up a present and there it was. Fantastic Four #8!! My parents had spilt off and one of them went back to get it for me!! How awesome is that!!?!! I still count my blessings everyday that I had such cool parents who supported my passion...Not high grade but nice pages and presentation for our pal Mr Masters!!
  2. Very underrated book imo and suprised to see that with a book deemed to be a, “classic cover” even by CGC standards that there are only 9 Blue labels on the census mine being the lowest of course but what’s new haha!! Book doesn’t seem to bring a lot of money when brought to market either at least according to the ones I’ve seen and add in GPA. Here’s a fun pic from about 4 yrs ago when I was obsessed with finding a blue label. Sold the Resto copy. The copy on the right is my current copy. BOY I have learned a lot in that span of time and have come to be a little more open to slight restoration. All about the journey!!
  3. You better be willing to throw down 15K for that 1.8 I seriously wouldn’t be suprised if it hit that. Nice pages and presentation. Been awhile since a copy like this hit the market.
  4. Very cool book!! glad a boardie got it i was watching that one myself
  5. Awesome books as always!! I have come to expect no less!! GLWTS!!
  6. and (4 ) All Star #3s (5) if you include the coverless
  7. Thanks brother!! You will be happy to hear I have no intention whatsoever of slabbing this one!!:) That makes me think of an interesting question for me to ask you GA collectors maybe I will start a thread
  8. thanks and yes it is!! I can already see the incoming PMs from boardies saying what are doing with those yucky bronze books haha?!! I have my Hulk 181/IF14 and a few others but for the most part never picked up many minor keys of this era. Gold is just so HOT right now I figured I would toy around a bit ALTHOUGH there are a couple GA books going off the blocks tonight on both ebay and Heritage that I will be participating in!! I’m GOLDen for life!!! Maybe we can talk Andrew into checking it out someday!! I only ever met 1Cool once at a Cleveland convention and I had just bought a Catman book from Harley Yee and showed him. I don’t think he was impressed hehe!!
  9. No current #6 sold that as well I couldn’t agree more though and NEVER without a #4 this is my current copy. Nice pages and presents decently for a GD- have had this for a couple years. Free bump for our buddy 1Cool buy some of his books folks!!
  10. Thanks Claudio I had sold my childhood copy and been looking to reaquire for some time. Im always so focused on GA but when I saw this with Andrews great price I couldn’t pass it up. This one is going nowhere for a long time brother!!
  11. This auction really hit the JACKPOT when it comes to MLJ goodness. Enough Archie related stuff to really put a PEP in your step!!!
  12. Bravo!! That one was priced to move for sure!!! I see you also scooped up a Wonderworld #9 I know who picked up the Wonderworld #8 and see our buddy Entalmighty1 got the gorgeous National 7. Boards are cleaning up on those Lou Fines!! I learned one thing...gotta check my emails often
  13. Posted in the Have a Cigar thread but it fits the bill here...HAPPY HUNTING everyone in 2018. I got an email from Teds SuperWorld Comics with TONS of great Lou Fine covers. Got there a little late as a few of the ones on my list were already scooped up. Great prices though so check it out!!
  14. As stated nobody is laughing at this acquisition now what an AWESOME copy of an absolute CLASSIC!!! great presentation, vivid eye popping colors, pedigree, and awesome paper preservation. Can’t really beat that buddy!!
  15. Thanks Claudio my friend!!! There is a text story like in quite a few GA comics that explains the cover and it is war related. To sum it up the Human Meteor and Toby speak to a woman who has a daughter that is trapped in Burma. They head over and find the place she is being kept and have to fight off many Japanese agents at one point struggling mightily. They get knocked down but back onto their feet with bullets bouncing off the Human Meteors chest. They stumble upon a room that has “dope” on the table and figure the daughter Helen has been drugged. They see a trap door leading to the basement/dungeon where they head down and are confronted by several Burmese monks who are trying to throw Helen into a pool. They fight them off and save the day by catching Helen mid air while being tossed before she lands in the pool below and are able to return her mother back in the States. That pretty much sums up all the non illustrated stuff if you can call it that but technically the cover is in essence the illustration that the story is about.
  16. Haha thanks dude!! I have a few cool Fox books but overall it quite literally is just a group of rags compared to several of the boardies on here that I admire yourself included!!! To answer your question Yes they are real BUT they are not “copies” they are just covers they contain no guts whatsoever. I picked up a few cool covers from boardies the other being a US Jones #2 which I later married to an interior. The significance is they all come from what was termed the FOG collection i guess as they all 3 had faint date stamps with the letters FOG. I was thankfully and again thanks to a boardie able to finally nab a complete original unrestored copy of US Jones #2 but haven’t been able to land complete copies of the other 2 yet. The way prices have been trending especially on the WW7 which has to be a 1K/point book now that no one wants to free from their collections it may be awhile but i’m a patient man (that’s not necessarily true but it sounds good haha!!!) If I ever track down interiors I would probably remove them and marry them obviously but they are in a windowless basement area with dimmer lights that don’t even go on all that often. I’m a displayer by heart and I actually tried photocopies of other books in the past but it just didn’t “do it” for me personally. I can appreciate others that do though but these just so happen to be the only, “just covers” I own of anything at this time so hey why not the smiles they bring me way outweigh the monetary values of the covers themselves.
  17. Thanks brother and GREAT EYE!!! Most of Lou Fine’s ghoulish fiends on the cover of WW7 had their hoods down but one of em’ in the back kept his up for the attack ? I always thought the 7 and 15 made great bunk mates so I have em’ hanging side by side in my basement ?
  18. You know who and what else rocks RM? You and your spectacular collection!! I hold any compliment from you in the highest regard brother so Grazie Mille!! The Champ 20-23 were all Gerber no shows I believe. BTW that Green Hornet is another I have been chasing for some time it’s my favorite cover of the run and the only I know of that uses the hero/horror angle on the cover. I guess we could consider the Nazi Ghostship issue but this one has the filmstrip on the side as well which I think is Supercool!! I think there a few neat splashes in that book of yours my friend. Do you happen to own the other filmstrip issue as well the #7? Both tough books that don’t hardly ever pop up. I know you have the Fuehrer cover or at least i believe i recall you posting that amongst your Many other treasures
  19. Just got this in the mail been chasing a copy for some time. 22 is my favorite # and since I can’t seem to get an Aman 22 and have literally no chance ever at a Pep 22 this will have to do but I ain’t complainin’ man this is even cooler in person!! This will double up as my first purchase of 2018. Also this was put out during the height of my favorite Harvey covers across their lineup which ran for over a year. The color scheme will line nicely with my Speed 28!! The White Mask splash looks awefully familiar to some classic cover with a Bat or something on it. Couple other interior pics for your viewing pleasure...
