I saw that too looks like the spine was rolled back possibly pressed. I will say this it looks much nicer. Not as nice as it would in a CGC case but presentation wise much nicer for sure. Aside from Pep 22 or Archie 1 is there a more sought or hotter MLJ at the moment? I mean the San Fran 9.2 brought what almost 60K??

This was actually something I had noticed many moons ago as well. I read the post sorry to hear that it doesn't really bother me personally too much to be honest which is strange given my OCD tendencies but thought I would share this pic since it was mentioned it is a visual world nowadays. I have mentioned things that I thought needed to be added on a single book and CGC accommodated like for Speed Comics #28 for example. I asked them if they would add, "Classic Nazi Monster cover" and they did. I also had them add something to Flash Comics #7 notation and they agreed. Maybe like others have said it would affect something on a much larger scale. Anyways, here is how it appears on many of their issues clearly no, "s" I would also like to add that I LOLd when i read Bedrocks post ?

I second that. I have many of them saved as ebay searches and they pop up even less frequently than they did 5 years ago

Interesting question and I would say it all depends on a case to case basis of where the fragile part of the book is. Slightly brittle for example I have found can be the smallest little piece where the rest of the book is perfectly ok and sometimes in past experiences i wasn't even sure where the brittle part was at all. Here is an example of a book that was designated as SB that I had the pencil removed just for aesthetic purposes and it turned out great imo. Purchased from a great boardie and sold to another great boardie!! here are some pics after I cracked it out the first time around to read it and the final re slabbed product. Before and after did you will...FYI book retained the exact same grade and pq designation as prior to the pencil being removed but it answers the question that YES in some circumstances pencil can safely be removed from a book that has been designated as at least slightly brittle by CGC https://flic.kr/p/FSBUoL

Well hello my friend!! I would say the fact that i had just worked a 12 hr shift at the hospital and was laying in bed winding down just catching up on the boards which i haven't frequented as much as I normally due because my little ones have been under the weather probably added to my confusion so I will chalk that up as my bad brother!!

Here's a brittle book i would love to upgrade but this will just have to do for now and I love er' just the same. Anyone out there seen a nice lower grade presentable copy of this book with nice pages anywhere for sale that won't break the bank too bad? If so shoot me a PM!! I won't get my hopes up to high

I'm a firm believer of buy the book not just the # at the top. In this example the ASM 3 will probably get a premium and the ASM 4 if in CGC holder will get discounted everyone see what I'm getting at...The point to my post however is not even how the companies grade whether it be strict, loose, or all over the map. My issue is that (and I strongly believe this) that P*X is a company with strong insider manipulation and that scares me. I know of a seller on ebay that i won't touch his stuff bc he uses PGX and I know he is up to all sorts of shenanigans. He bought an incomplete book from me once (I LISTED IT AS INCOMPLETE) he, "sent it into PGX" where it came back complete and he listed it for sale and quickly. I pointed this out and called him out as he didn't even mention it in the listing and I thought this blatent dishonestly was disgusting. I also had issue that he bought the book from me and within a week had it in P*X holder as complete which made me wonder if he was part of the company and putting these slabs together in his garage or something. The whole thing was off and I didn't like it one bit and have stayed as far away from that company as i can ever since. Grades are subjective I get that, Resto can be missed i get that, but counting pages is something my children can do. This was a SUPER RARE book too which I guess just added to my frustration. I personally BELIEVE this company is up to no good and there is nothing they could do at this point to make me believe otherwise.

Wasn't quite sure where to ask this question so figured the knowledgeable folks over in this thread may be able to help me out. I work with a few gals who are from the Philippines and they know i am into comics. They talk about Darna all the time who is a female superheroine from around the Golden Age. Anyways was looking for her 1st cover app and keep coming up with this book. Pilipino Komiks #78. Problem is I can't find an actual copy anywhere and that includes sold items as well. Anyone seen or heard of this book and have anymore info on it? thanks!!
