  1. My guess is he just wanted an excuse to see how much people thought the book would go for..doubt he's selling it on eBay. Brian
  2. I may be buying your ASM 15. How firm is your price? Brian
  3. What reason would we have to not trust them? Other then speculation from other board members that they cater to Heritage..? Chris Friezen (sp?), probably has just as much restoration expertise as everyone in here combined..it's his rep on the line if he doesn't i.d. a restored book. Brian
  4. I'm guessing here but I think he may intentionally overgrade books. You can't seriously be that far off after selling hundreds of comics.. Brian
  5. I would think collecting parts may be a good idea for some extremely pricey books..if you get the complete interior of a book and then buy just the cover and the back..can't you have someone restore it all back together so you have a comic book again? Brian
  6. That's not collecting, it's just blindly following what everyone else temporarily likes until the next best thing comes along. Brian
  7. ASM 100, 109, 148-150 all between 9.2 and 9.4 Marvel Spotlight 5 x 2 both 9.0 unfortunately Brian
  8. I'd guess they're doable if you order large quantities..just seems a rip off if you're only ordering a couple units. Brian
  9. I would try Bill Cole but the shipping is a little high for me...same reason I haven't ordered one of their boxes..the shipping costs more then the actual box. Brian
  10. I use Gerber's full backs with the his mylite 2 or whatever he calls it. Never had any boards get warped..never had the bags fall apart..actually the opposite..I had to use a knife to get one of the books I closed to open. They only negatives..they don't seem to fit in standard boxes, and they are very staticy. Brian
  11. Nope I hit him with no feedback..this was back when I didn't leave feedback for anyone and they didn't leave any for me. But I did email some of his buyers at the time Brian
  12. I purchased a few ASM books in supposed 9.8 NM/MT from this guy about a year ago..they were F/VF at best. Brian
  13. I've just come to the conclusion that if people are going to speculate on movies by buying key appearances from characters in it..whatever..it's their money, even if I think it's a dumb idea and such..what I don't like is people trying to convince me that some books are going up not because of the movie hype but b/c the book is now "suddenly" becoming recognized..that's just bull. Anyways, it's just like speculating on an IPO or something in the stock market when you speculate on movie books so do what you want..but don't try to sell me the "well it's just cause the book is so great" line. Brian
  14. I think for the books to jump up a ton they have to be a book readily affordable by people to speculate on without giving up too much. This is why you don't see a huge jump in ASM 50 for the Kingpin appearance for the DD movie. This is also why I doubt that ASM 3 makes huge leaps..as it's too costly for the average person to buy in high grade. At the time people were buying ASM 14 for speculating purposes they could easily pick up a higher graded book for below 1k. I think the perfect example of a book that got hyped up from the movie is ASM 136..that was going for a ton for a while. Brian
  15. That auction could be a very very nice buy melmoth, considering it's a red label..the potential for a 9.8 would be nice..and just think if you got one..the speculators would be falling over trying to get the book away from you.. Brian
  16. If I had to buy it I'd take the 9.4, but if I could use the money else where I most certainly would! Brian
  17. You guys are obsessed with the stars.. greggy has started posting..ack now we know the topic of conversation will go downhill Brian
  18. I'd guess that there's a ton of this book available..just from what I've seen there's never a day you can't search on eBay and find at least 1-2 available in 9.4 and 2 or more available in 9.2 Brian
  19. I don't know about you but if I was disclosed the color touch instead of the tear seal, I'd be unhappy. As long as they disclose the major restoration, I don't think most would have problems with minor stuff here and there..but then again I won't buy restored comics so I don't know Brian
  20. Yeh, I'd be curious as to how many of these there are out there. I understand that every single copy for the most part had to come out after the movie..but it just seems like everyone has a copy of this book. As far as spending over 2,000 dollars on one all I'll say is I could think of some other comics I'd rather put the money on. Brian
  21. I think Hulk 1 has the best transformation cover Brian
  22. Interesting, was this recently and do you know what books they were? Just curious.. :\ Odd that someone would break into a wealthy person's house and just steal comics..certainly sucks tho Brian
  23. Yeh, most people don't put much weight on anything procrustean says.. he's just here to stir up trouble most of the time. Anyways, any idea why Cage is selling his collection? There's a bunch of rumors on another board as to why.. Brian
