Pre-Heat Speculation Thread - Get it before it gets HOT
cbaileypacker replied to bhigg32's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Batman Rebirth should be a hot book. Duke is in the Batcave talking to Batman about being a Robin... and Batman tells him he has something else in mind. A new costume is shown to Duke. No name is given to the suit but Duke is shown wearing it towards the end of the book... nice spoiler...hope a cool name goes with it. Edit Image found -

I'm pretty sure the variant (white cover) was a 1:15 That book isn't a variant of the one shot. Yep. The one shot didn't have a variant. Or none that Diamond's system shows. ^this. The white WoM Variant is for the 2010 ongoing X-23 series. Great book with a cool back cover! -

If I recommend a book you like, than I get thanks for the info. If I recommend a book you don't like, then I'm a low down, dirty pump n dumper. Seems legit. -

I got the Punisher one. The rest were hard to find. I will say that the 1:25 Punisher was no where to be seen Still can't figure out why these Apocalypse Variants are so hard to find. NO new listings since yesterday morning on eBay of a new variant is unusual. Sold out everywhere here, only three sellers on eBay seem to have any right now -

Tough book in hi grade. Shiny black cover is VERY unforgiving. Census says ZERO graded. -

Anyone getting the Horseman of Apocalypse variants? Extremely limited here in Portland. Stores had few to none. 4x stores with no Black widow 3, thunderbolts 1, iron man 9, etc. TFAW said they might have changed the ratio on them, and they didn't have any in stock beside one copy of punisher #1. Clerk checked and none for order on TFAW.com as well. Seems to be 7-10 copies each on the bay, pretty standard, but it's a ghost town around here. What's it look like elsewhere..?.. -

Anyone have any (more) info on the Deadpool 45 Marvel anniversary cover? Key Comments "Marvel Comics 50th Anniversay", variant cover. Ultimate Spider-Man # 1, cover swipe. 1st full Evil Deadpool app. I see 9x 9.8 graded (6 blue/3 yellow), 27 total graded (13b/14y). Only one sale 9.8 for $800. Have seen 2x raw sell for 150 and 215, and a BUNCH of sales from the same seller(??) which could mean anything. Besides that one seller, only can find 3 raw sales for this book. http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?isRefine=true&_pgn=1&_nkw=Deadpool+45+variant+horn&LH_Complete=1 Didn't want to start a full topic, just info seems muddy on this one. If there's a more "variant discussion thread" please direct me there. Thanks in advanced. -

I thought Jon Kent's first was in Superman Convergence 2? It is. But this is when he puts on the costume, I think. Yes, cameo as a baby in SC 2 No costume yet, but LC1 is first full appearance of the character "grown" into the age he will be written in Supersons. Most people, including myself, are not a fan of 1st app babies. I'll pass on Son of the Demon baby Damian, test tube X-23, and UXM 201 baby Cable. And yes, the regular Lee Weeks cover is by far the better cover for this book, but you know, 1:25 variant hotness and all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that human does not look like a baby to me. Yes, that human pictured above is not a baby. Maybe not even human. That (maybe) human IS a baby in SC2, with a full head of super-hair... Baby Kent : Cheers! -
Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...

Several of his allies are characters who’ve been around the Marvel Universe for a long time, such as Terror, Foolkiller, Solo, and Stingray. Read More: Deadpool Gets A Team in 'Deadpool and the Mercs for Money' | http://comicsalliance.com/deadpool-and-the-mercs-for-money-preview/?trackback=tsmclip I''m well aware of the series, and that it's now an ongoing. Just saying that if the 1st appearances of those characters haven't gone up in the last few months, why would they now? Thinking Devil Dinosaur and Weirdworld and their respective crash and burns I am surprised you would think like that. Deadpool is the hottest character around. All those books are dirt cheap. Id jump on any of them at $.50 or $1 its an easy flip in high grade. Give it a few months especially if circulation on that book is a hit. It just seems like, unlike the 1990's, an old character in a new series doesn't get much of a back issue bump unless a TV show or movie is involved. We can fault Marvel's annual reboot for that I suppose. I hope the Deadpool Mercs series takes off, I'm well stocked on the 1st appearance of all 4 Foolkillers, and have multiple copies of Terror Inc #1, St George #2 and Daredevil #305, covering all the bases there. St George 2 would (should) be the terror inc winner. Im all in on Slapstick. Love the character, Steals the show, and could have a big sandbox for a a writer to play in, if marvel chooses to push his character now. Sorry for the OT, now back to Bronze Age... -

+100! Got in early for the Thursday ECCC, 1 hour and $175 bucks later and it was variant haul heaven. Best "50% off variant" boxes I have ever seen, and a batman 635 for $3 iced the cake. Cheers! -

FCBD 2012 has an unnamed cameo in a 4 page advertisement tease by Jim Lee: Which has its own history originally being Hal in the sketch pre-production, then the scene ended up being re-drawn by Reis and used in JL 23 Pre-production fcbd OA JL 23 spread by Reis . IMO GL#0 seems like a no-brainier, but this hobby does stranger things. Cover, full app and origin. I suggest these two, combo seems to be the low print, but I really like the wraparound B&W variant best. Cheers! -

Great weekend on the Oregon Coast with the family. Being that there is no actual comic shop listed anywhere on the OC (I found one "off the map" in North Bend), I still managed to dig up some goods: Cheers!
