  1. Thank you for the clarification Speedy although I disagree about it not being an attack from some Telling someone to lay off the booze to me is very offensive nuff said
  2. Easy m'man. You're wrong here, but it's okay. Threadcrapping is real, and people do get strikes for it. If you don't see that in the rules you've been looking at, it doesn't mean it's not true. And your post, calling out a seller's prices in his sales thread, is the #1 definition of threadcrapping. You probably won't get a strike for it, but you might. Or you might get a wrist slap. But whether or not that happens, please understand that on the CGC Message Boards, questioning a seller's grades or prices in their thread is considered threadcrapping, and it's a no-no. Speedy if true then why is it not written where someone can learn the rules without having things be pointed at them? It is true, and the mods don't have to list every rule. This is their house, and if they feel like you're causing trouble, they'll let you know, however they want, at their discretion. This is not a democracy, we serve at their pleasure. Ok news to me I thought when you paid your dues you were a member of the Collectors Society and the Member Agreement doesn't mention this. If I am truly wrong then I have already said so be it I would take my strike or wrist slap

  4. Keep doing it and see where it gets you. (thumbs u Woah man watch with the veiled threats man.....not cool
  5. How? Hmm because it was a question he invited saying he had paid OSPG prices which opened the door ya know what nevermind I have no need, desire nor inclination to explain myself to you or anyone else. If what I did was wrong and against board rules where is my strike? Ya know why because it isn't. It might not be politically correct or an accepted practice but no where in the rules does it state you may not ask a question about his pricing especially when you were going to ask about buying other books he had listed in his previous thread.
  6. Read the rules again and practice PM's. Read em still say nothing about asking a legitimate question and nope need no practice in PM's am pretty good at it.......
  7. I didn't realize that I was threadcrapping, so I'll learn from it and move on. Not sure what constitutes threadcrapping, so I'll go looking for other rules threads. I see so much randomness posted in numerous sales threads that I'm a bit puzzled at the moment. See the bolded section. "Nudging" is allowed if the member's thread is in violation of the rules. It's already been established that this member's thread, while not ideal, was within the parameters of the rules. There was no rule violation, therefore no "nudging" should be allowed in the thread. Edit to add: To help clarify what a threadcrap may be, it's instructive to understand what a "nudge" actually is. Arch has given very specific instructions on how to nudge: you politely paste the section of rules that the member is violating without extraneous comment. None of the comments in this particular members sales thread did that. They definitely were not nudges. Another way to look at threadcrapping: ask yourself, would I appreciate someone making this comment directly in my sales thread? Or would I prefer that he PM me about it? So asking about his pricing differences are not ok and are considered threadcrapping.........even though....nah nevermind not worth the effort If I deserve a strike then so be it.........twas an honest question looking for an honest answer. Yes his books, his prices should I have asked in PM? Why I had a genuine question and depending on his answer was going to ask about other books he had previously listed. Did I break a board rule? nope at least not where it is written in the rules. I looked and can't find anywhere at all it might be an unwritten rule but I have been told things before .........ehhh nevermind I will do what I came here originally to do buy and not bother having to talk
  8. We have communicated via PM and paypal was to ensure himself with paypal to protect himself. Paypal stated he was a blah word escapes me now but one of their highest tier clients so I really dont think it is set out to be a scam as such. The issue I believe comes back to shipping costs and he probably does get really inexpensive shipping from the auction houses as he buys a fair volume and high dollar books. I showed him my numbers was told it shouldn't be that much and spent a huge amount of time figuring out how to ship without losing my soul. Finally 1st class was suggested by the postmaster so twas mailed and now I have no way to track it. If I ever ship international again it will be at buyer's cost with insurance, tracking and signature required. So I guess I will sit down and try to figure out a fair way for this to be worked out. The books weren't worth a huge amount of money and I have to accept my part of blame in this case 50/50 doesn't seem fair, Maybe 65/35 and offering a 65 percent refund with the caveat if the books come he will make me whole.
  9. International Shipping can be crazy. I remember when I was selling vintage Star Wars in the 90's a guy from Singapore bought a MIB AT-AT from me. It was $300 for the toy and $600 for shipping. He must have done this before because he didn't bat an eye. What kinds of jobs are over there that 600 shipping is normal and paid easily..... Nah too wet and hot to live there for me

  11. yes. I showed everyone I knew those prices 50 bucks a book........I'm still in shock
  12. Ok I am the seller from November the buyer picked up 3 CGC slabs from me for 272.00 260.00 + 12.00 shipping. Found out later that he was in Singapore figured ok lets check prices than proceeded to almost have a heart attack but was able to keep it to a panic attack......Xanax does wonders. Prices were from the big 3: USPS - $152.16 Priority, Insurance, Signature Fed Ex - $169.42 Priority, insurance, Signature UPS refused to deliver due to a typhoon in the local area but that those prices sounded correct. Talked to the postmaster or head guy @ my post office and he said the only inexpensive way was 1st class and even then it was 46.00. I figured ok I never specified I would ship for the $46.00 and just eat the 34 dollar difference. Shipped his and about 8 other packages the same day and had the number the post office gave me when I purchased the postage and filled out the customs form. It showed nothing not a pick up a delivery in shipping at customs nothing and still does not. We had been talking in PM's as a person at the post office said it might show up if customs does their job and scanned it. I was also told not to hold my breath. Today I received notice of dispute from paypal showing the money was now on hold then notification that I had a PM here and that he was "its december 21st already and I still haven't received my books. I am going to file a complaint on paypal until this is resolved." Paypal and the post office both suggested to wait another week to see since the mail is slow. I have sent that message but at this time no response yet. I do "NOT" think or believe he is a scammer at all. Paypal said he was a top client and you don't get that status for screwing people. He has a very nice collection and usually buys from the auction houses and they add some on to the books for the shipping I think the biggest issue was sending 1st Class which has no protection but was the cheapest. I had given the higher quotes and was never offered a portion of the shipping costs I believe imo both of us were partially in the wrong and would just like to make things right and that we should wait the recommended week and then if nothing then to talk about what is fair,
  13. I do NOT know the history behind such basically vile statements from boardies to other boardies although there will always be disagreements and the "can't" get along people. Is or was it that much of a big deal to carry that amount of hate inside? But, It's the christmas season do none of you spewing this have no sense of the christmas spirit? Does no one have it in them to be the bigger person during this season at least? Sigh... I love the holidays so much but during the season I just don't get why people have to be such individual_without_enough_empathys to each other. Wait til new years then explode ehhhh
  14. did you know if anyone else who purchased on his thread received their books or have been in contact with him. sorry to hear about this, I actually considered buying some books but the ones I wanted were already taken. No, as of yet I haven't been in contact with anyone else that purchased from him. The only communication so far has been between us in PMs. That was the thread I had bought from also. I received my items after nominating for PL it confuses me that if you had ordered from the same thread why you wouldnt have received your items at least when I got mine. jop, when did you get your book(s)? November 23 I believe. On my thread asking for him to be released is the day I received them. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7196387#Post7196387
