  1. I second toyman's nomination Who is going to PM him?
  2. Actually, you can tell if a PM is read or unread. Not really. My g-mail shows all of the message so if I never came back to the boards you could read all messages Ah, didn't know that. Thanks for the info! -slym

  4. It seems like more than enough members monitor the board 1 minute PM would show at least proof it was sent. The read part you can never tell
  5. Would that be an idea as in this case he has been on the PL since 12/12 and looks like he never knew til today....
  6. I would agree the only part I don't understand was the what 8 months he was on it. Did no one tell him? If someone does get put on PL do they receive a message telling them that?
  7. I see your point but also this transaction was/is/never happened almost a year ago. toymans last pm was 12/2012 My question is why did it take someone almost a year to ask about it and since the books were never paid for. and toyman has not been active for almost 6 months what do you do?
  8. Sounds like you need to get up with the guy that nominated you and get him to clear your name. IDK what you want someone like me to do or say. Not you specifically. I'm directing this towards member's who are insinuating I'm a hypocrite and have a history of a being a bad member ....when I do not. Check out my feedback thread....or do a simple search on me....I have 0 bad things said about me other then being wrongfully nominated by a member named Toyman ....who if you look him up has a bad rep. It doesn't make any sense when a person came be nominated/listed for no reason whatsoever ... by a board member who clearly doesn't have a good reputation to begin with. My point stands - you need to get up with Toyman to clear your name. "We" can't do a thing about it. Sorry this is happening to you. -slym This member has not been active in 5-6 months. What am i suppose to do if he's not even an active member on here at all. I can screen shot they PayPal payment transaction I made to him ....to show proof that he's in the wrong. I don't know I can't find any thread he talked in nominating you at all....although I also don't see any thread of his selling the books you mention to you either..... 1. Are you sure you are talking about the right person? 2. When was the sale? Where is the thread? 3. Are you sure you are even nominated? Here is the link to all of his posts.......which one nominates you and which one has him selling those books to you? http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=userposts&id=24158
  9. toyman User 1064 10/22/12 01:23 PM is the only user I see with the name toyman and he hasn't even been online/posted since 6/6/2013 he did have a strike for trolling but nowhere do I see that you were even nominated.....I could be wrong ask someone else to be sure but if he did nominate you and he hasnt been on in 5 months that means the infraction would even have been longer...... I have no horse in this race that's just what I found
  10. One thing...There are certain folks I would Pay with Pay Pal personal because I have that level of comfort. Rupp, Bosco, Joey, Harvey and just about anyone I have had multiple dealings with. New buyers or sellers, No way. I agree there are a few that I would trust that way having multiple dealings with in the past Rupp,Mayor,Harvey, Hector/Jsilvejanet,Sky/Shar Possibly more but right now without checking my records those people I would be comfortable with dealing high dollar items. And well even though I didn't have any past dealings with my seller he had a good track record more people bought in his thread and he had more posts than I did and even more kudos. So I guess you NEVER really know just have to go with your gut I guess. My bad I was concerned about Amazon but thought I had protection through Amazon. Lesson learned sooner or later i will get my money or books that much is for sure.
  11. On a free board with no type of verification it is impossible. Most people until they are around enough would have no idea who they were talking to unless a sale was made. If you truly want to keep out scammers only a few ways to deter because nothing is perfect. 1. Make the site a membership site in order to sell or buy and you have to register with a valid credit card which unless a stolen card would give the knowledge of who the person actually was. 2. Before being allowed to sell an application must be filled out and they must be approved to sell. A small group of 3 on a semi rotating basis would work well for the approval committee. 3. Drivers License I don't think would work because not many people would place that amount of information online although more is required to buy and sell on ebay....hmm 4. Change the laws and allow for public stoning of scammers. Public shaming is already being done but if they are a true scammer they really wont even care. 5. Have a 3rd party verification system/website that issues sellers a personal ID number alias that could be looked up and tracked down. 6. Don't buy and sell on the boards as it is a risk.....I just got burned for 90 bucks would never have guessed it from post counts or anything like that but it happens unless you want to all chip in and we can have monthly enforcers on the payroll that would go to the scammers home and point out the error of their ways and how much more happier they would be once those books or money was out of their possession. blah nuff typing
  12. Used a debit card but all good small bank they all know me so shouldn't be a problem just a major pain and having to wait. I thought it would be like paypal at least since I had to link a bank account and a credit card in order to make the payment and we are Prime members......thought they would be able to just take it back..........lesson learned.... Wonder if anyone else in that thread received anything?
  13. Only if you buy from an Amazon storefront, It is the Payments from person to person they do not cover.
  14. ALERT - ALERT - ALERT- ALERT - ALERT Amazon Payments if payment is made to a person and they do not have a store presence on Amazon. YOU LOSE YOUR MONEY from them. The guarantee is NOT effective when as most of use PayPal buyer paying seller with personal account. Informed that it has been that way for some time. Now his request for Amazon, Check, Money Order makes more sense as they will not help as in their words "We have no way of getting the money back from the seller." I asked as a new buyer i had to set up a credit card and bank account in order to use Amazon Payment wouldn't he have had to also? "Yes" was the response. I then asked why they couldn't take the money from 1 of those accounts. Amazon response. "We can't do that, you should contact your credit card company or bank." I asked did I miss the 30 day window and that was the reason. Amazon response. "No you could have sent your claim in after 15 days but because it is a personal account they would NOT be able to help me." Asking about all of their guarantees and knowing paypal would have already done something it was explained to me. Amazon response. "If you read all of the guarantee you will find that we can not be held liable for cases like these due to the fact that it was a personal seller account." I asked if this happens often. Amazon response " A fair amount of times but in most cases the bank or credit card is able to help the customer." ME "So I could make a seller account and have someone send me a personal payment and not send them anything and that ok it would be cool?" Amazon response. "It would not be cool but we would have no way of retrieving the money." I'm shaking my head over this almost license to steal .
  15. Honestly that was the 1st time I ever heard that amazon had a paypal like area. It took about 24+ hours for them to actually set up the account and calling and explaining to them tonight well..........good try but the guy had no idea what he was talking about. I like Amazon as a site but I don't think I will be utilizing them as a payment middleman
  16. OK filed with Amazon.....sheesh they are NO help on the phone and it isn't that easy to find the dispute transaction area. Here is the link for Amazon's Complaint Department https://resolutioncenter.payments.amazon.com/cobranded-ui/actions/DisputeInitialisationAction.do PM sent 30 minutes ago This PM is to officially let you know that within 72 hours you will be nominated for the Probation List as this transaction is almost 30 days old. You have read my PM's but never responded except to twice tell me that they were going to be shipped the following Monday. As of 11/14/2013 I have received to tangible goods per our arranged transaction here on the boards.
  17. Has anyone ever dealt with "MrDeafComics" Purchased on his thread Oct 16th Paid via Amazon per his request Pm's have been sent and read but no answer since 10/18 "Will ship on Monday" then 11/02 "Shipping on Monday" PM sent 11/02 and 11/08 read but no response to asking about a tracking number. 30 days is almost up not sure how Amazon deals with issues but want to put a case in if I need to. Should I send PM mentioning the PL?
  18. Good job as everyone has said. Paid Wed had my books delivered today! Great packing job and I would not hesitate to buy from again.
  19. I agree with your thoughts here, but I suppose this approach technically meets the listing rules (which state "List scans or information about the grade of the offered books"..."or" being the operative word). Having said that, without the listing enhancements you describe, I'll just pass right by a listing with grading like this...just not worth dealing with it. I also find fascinating the contrast between the very loose grading and the very precise pricing...I mean, the X-Men 4 is $243.04....not $243, but $243.04 Actually the pricing was based on the book number X-Men 4 hence the 4 cents...... if that caused confusion and or thoughts of pricing to catch sales.... I didn't know that was possible for me at least.... The were followed and the constructive criticism that was received has been utilized the best way I could. Thanks to all that explained and helped..... Asking the question instead of assuming/guessing will get the correct answer 99% of the time unless someone is scamming.
  20. Hopefully I'll find out soon. I want the right of first depending on price of course
  21. Books arrived today packed rock solid. Easy to deal with I would buy from him again and have no qualms about recommending anyone else either
  22. Just received my All Star Comics 6 from Sharon......... I have to say....Sharon has the tightest box I have ever seen or even heard of..... She is such a tease......filler was Mercedes Benz super hard cardboard thingy....... I'm still looking for the keys or title.....
  23. Well hopefully I will get mine It has supposedly shipped Order Date: 9th Oct 2013 This order is marked as Shipped Your Order Contains: 1 x Life With Archie Married Life #23 Francavilla Cvr
  24. I believe from the original post by Toast that he had other people and I could even be mistaken but 1 on the phone. Comix made a very interesting legal "theft by deception" case. By definition and current case studies I would agree depending on jurisdiction and the cost vs reward as I can't think of a DA prosecuting this so it would most likely go civil.
