  1. Recently purchased from fellow board member darthcorgi: [/img] [/img] [/img]
  2. I know right. I was comparing it against some Marvel Tales I have in the 6.5 range, they look like a mess compared to the ST 28. Anyway, still waiting on notes, update tomorrow. Im guessing tanning, page quality...something...anything to explain why I shouldn't spend the money to resub. Johnny
  3. I haven't seen CGC's grader notes, but I doubt that the miswrap came into play. However, I do see moderate tanning to the top and right edges of the front cover, some color flaking along the bottom edge of the front cover, and possibly small horizontal tears at the bottom staple. Then there are the three as yet unseen elements: the back cover, the inside covers (which probably have some degree of tanning), and the interior pages. It's a fine book, for sure. (thumbs u But based on what I've seen so far, I'm not ready to conclude that the Sarasota crew missed the mark. Back cover: [/img]
  4. Here is a better pic. More confused by grade then ever...I pulled out all my other GA books from 1951-1955 graded 5.5-7.0, this blows them all away. [/img]
  5. Probably no impact. Stains, staple issues or poor paper quality might. And even tiny corners off or color breaking creases could be hammered on a bad day. Might be worth a resub. That is kind of what I was thinking. I bought the grader notes (haven't got them yet) hoping for some clue. There are really no CBC I can see and the corners look really, really good.
  6. Great cover, that copy looks like it is in great shape too! Johnny
  7. Aside from the miscut at the top front cover of the ST 28, the book is a 7.5-8.0 IMO. I can't believe the grade it got. Anyone have an understanding of the impact of a mis cut on grade? Johnny
  8. Sorry for the crummy scan, newest addition... [/img]
  9. Awesome book, great colors and image. Johnny
  10. The Atlas war comics are on a upswing, in terms of interest in my opinion...
  11. Another of my favorite covers - impossible to find in a decent grade. [/img]
  12. Thoughts on grade? The writing and color removing abrasion are making it difficult for me to determine. No one will respond on the PGM my comic forum. And this Atlas thread has the authorities. Johnny
  13. Thanks much. I have a dozen MT out to be slabbed, a few pedigrees (Bethlehem/Northford) that might come back above 9.0 - fingers crossed and than a bunch of 6.5-8.5's (if I am lucky). Johnny
  14. Marvel Tales 117 - rough, but love the cover.
