This issue is tough to locate in mid to upper grades. I would however be surprised to see it go past the 500's

Although sometimes rather unsightly, but because it doesn't seem to degrade paper quality, I'll still buy a book with it if it's on my "must have" list. Although I would prefer a copy without it. Essentially not taboo for me

I have actually had someone tell me that they had talked to others, and they thought by auction so many books at once that I had left thousands of dollars on the table. And this guy spent over 3 grand and wanted more of the books. I was personally pleased, but I didn't really have anything to go on. A few surprised me. The prices were pretty strong across the board, so I don't know how much more you would have made by trickling them out. That Sparkle City eBay auction a few years ago, on the other hand, I think really shortchanged the consignor because there were so many scare, high-grade copies put up in one auction. Yeah, I'm not worried about it. I was happy with the prices. I hope everyone got some books they wanted. I am still waiting for the Diary Sectets 12

My apologies then. I just know from experience that they've put normal books of mine in mag holders and I wasn't very happy. That is one freakin' rare book!!!

Lotta spine ticks on that 7.5 Sqeggs...you probably swapped holders, huh? The truth is, given the current tight grading period, that book might well get a lower grade on a resub. Gotta wonder who at CGC thinks this looks great in a mag holder. Granted they threw you a nice bone with the grade, but come on guys....really?? We pay upwards of 100.00 or more per book so it's only reasonable that we expect a quality product please

IMO it shouldn't affect grade at all. Theres plenty of books out there with 1 staple

Gabe IMO seems like a good egg just trying to find himself. I hasten to think what life would have been like for him in the pre internet days, but I applaud him for his lack of shyness and willingness to accept criticism from others. Hang in there pal, your ride has only just begun. It's often extremely difficult to attempt to rationalize with an irrational individual. Many here should realize that much of what is posted on this thread will likely fall on deaf ears.

I didn't start to collect until 1977 but remember that catalog well. I had Queen City bookstore on Bailey ave. in Buffalo NY to get my fix

I don't have a problem with how the book was graded. It basically a coverless copy missing pages with staples replaced. Can't get much lower than .1. I'm sorry, but that would be an embarrassment to own.

Keep in mind that the latest eBay Millie 1 cover was off centered in a big way. Don't know about you guys, but I tend to shy away from books like that.

I sold a 4.0 Patsy #1 in 2013 for $902. I was both shocked and not that surprised by the results. I knew it would do well but didn't quite expect that. The Crowley copy floated around on ebay around 2006-2008 and I've always regretted not spending the $1,000 or so to buy it. The Millie currently for sale is my original copy that I bought in 2005. I upgraded the next year and sold that one, ungraded, to fund other purchases. I paid a little over $500 then and sold it for about the same. I think the reality has set in that some of these Timely teen/career girl #1's are extremely scarce and the prices are starting to reflect that. I agree. I think the off centered cover on "Millie" #1 kept this one from exploding

That's fer sure. These GGA covers have been flying off the shelves lately. Curious what Millie #1 will go for Sunday night +1. I am watching that one myself. 555.00? And 1 day to go.... 645.00....5 hours left. I say final hammer around 900.00. This copy just doesn't show up. Remember Patsy Walker #1 on eBay a few months back?
