  1. First up, a lot of raw Black Riders. I love this title. I've put together runs in most genres. I hadn't chased Westerns, though, until this title. Some of the books are really cool and some are really, really tough to track down. For a few books in the title, I've only seen a couple in the span of a few years. For a couple issues, I've seen none. Check out the awesome J.Maneely in the Gold forum for some more cool covers. I'm getting off track. Back to the lot. Price: $200 Sold! Here's what you're getting: #13 || vg- to vg, pressed by Joey #16 || fr - has tape, writing, maybe some amateur color...tough book and was my filler copy for a while #17a || vg- to vg, nice copy but has a tear that's two inches long, goes from the smoke by the gun through the horse's tail #17b || fn- to fn, has been pressed by Joey #19 || fn- to fn, heavy foxing, some chipping in lower right edge, but nice copy of a challenging book #23 || vg to vg+, pressed by Joye #25 || vg+ to vg/fn, pressed by Joey This is far from what I paid. I'm an insufficiently_thoughtful_person. But, you can benefit from my poor judgment. Other pictures: Black Rider 13 Black Rider 17a Black Rider 17b Black Rider 19 Black Rider 16 Black Rider 23 Black Rider 25 Unsure why these are coming in sideways. Look fine on my phone. May fix, but should help you gage what's here.
  2. I should have probably organized things before starting the thread. Might take me a bit to get everything up. Also, working from phone and computer, so will be jumpy. Will put price in once the listing is (thought to be) complete.
  3. Received a few books from CGC this week and decided to de-clutter a bit. This thread will have a mix of Gold, Silver and Bronze singles and lots. The lots will be raw, the singles in slabs. All sizes fit most. The rules of the road.... 1. PayPal or certified check only. 2. First unconditional claim posted in the sales thread wins the book. A post in the thread takes precedence over any PM sale that might be agreed to but not yet posted to the sales thread. 3. Shipping at a flat $15 within the US (USPS...have to keep funds heading their way...so scary what's happening there, but I digress). Canada, UK or Australia, please inquire. I'll follow your directions, within reason, but shipping determined individually outside the US. Will be bubbled and handled with care. Check my kudos for a few unprompted references to my packing. 4. Insurance not included. If you fancy that, let's chat through what you need before we finalize price and you send payment. 5. For the slabbed books, CGC has already looked them over. You know what you're getting. No returns, as a result on those dandies. 6. For raw books, I've done my best. I tried to grade conservatively. I'll take returns, but you have to pay the shipping back to me. If you want to return a raw book, you've got to return the whole goldarn lot. Will not do swaps/exclusions on singles. Otherwise, all good. 7. For slabbed books, assume pressed, unless otherwise mentioned. For raw books, assumed unpressed and au naturel, unless otherwise mentioned. 8. I'd be open to time payments, as many kind boardies have provided me with same. 9. No HOS or probation boardies. I also reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone for any reason. Sorry, in advance, for the glare. All pics from my phone and a less-than-amateur hand. I am a straight-shooter. I've been on the boards for several years - doing decent sized transactions without hassle. Happy to provide references, if you need. My kudos thread is referenced in my signature, if needed. I think that's it. Here we go.
  4. I’m really happy with it. I’d love a 6.0 at some point, but, to be honest, I’ve not seen many 6.0s I’d trade my copy for.
  5. No rusty staples (very clean), no interior issues. Has some foxing on the back cover and a small tear near the staples on the back cover, which isn’t mentioned in the notes. Will post back cover a bit later. Still hard to rationalize a 5.0 (and hard to tell how CGC will respond to foxing)...but I adore the book, regardless the grade. Here are the notes:
  6. Alright, it’s now in a holder. For your viewing pleasure, one of the prettiest 5.0s you’ll find.
  7. Lots to like in this thread - tough decisions, some lessons learned, a little good math, a little bad math, and another glimpse at perhaps my favorite OA. This is the content I’m here for.
  8. A few more. I dig this title. Finding Black Riders in decent shape has been much tougher than I anticipated.
  9. I’m also in Oak Park. Will do my best not to become a stalker.
  10. He lives in Chicago? I didn’t know that.
  11. Can you update the scores for Tip Top Comics 173 (tied with United Comics 21 for first Peanuts)? None are listed, at present. Not a cheap book nor easy to find (21 Universals in the Census). Thanks! Score updated. Thank you
  12. Some of the Black Riders are dynamite. I love that set. I’ll dig a few out to show. Very under-appreciated. I’m missing a few issues, so please hold off buying them until I’m done. Thanks.
  13. Just joined this club, and I’m pretty excited. Book is raw...for now.
  14. I picked up just one book - the Shadow v3 no. 3 (#27) CGC 9.0. I think it's the first comic book appearance of Monstrodamus. I'm pretty happy with this one.
  15. This Magazine Is Haunted #16 CGC 2.0 - $650 625 Tremendous Ditko cover. Zombies under water are the worst, but this book is the best. Presents well at this grade. You can show it unabashedly to your friends.
  16. Letting go of a cool, hard-to-find, nice-presenting pre-code horror book. The rules of the road.... 1. PayPal or certified check only. 2. First unconditional claim posted in the sales thread wins the book. A post in the thread takes precedence over any PM sale that might be agreed to but not yet posted to the sales thread. 3. Let's chat through what you need or want before we finalize price and you send payment. 5. Book is slabbed by CGC. You know what you're getting. No returns, as a result. 6. I'd be open to time payments, as many kind boardies have provided me with same. 7. No HOS or probation boardies. I also reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone for any reason.
