  1. Nice snag. I’d have had to jump if you didn’t.
  2. I so, so want pulps to be slabbed. So want. Like with magazines, CGC should start with certain titles then expand. Yes, some engineering might have to change, but it’s worth the effort.
  3. It drives me a bit nuts that these bigger auctions close in the middle of the week and during the middle of the day. Why can’t they close in the evening? I know there is a live event, but can’t that start later? I’ve missed out on a ton of stuff because of this and will be pinched again. I’m sure I’m not the only other person whose job is rather manic ~8-5.
  4. I love those Spicys. The ones in the last HA auction were dynamite.
  5. I’ve tracked this title pretty darn closely for 10 years, and I would be shocked it there are more than a couple hundred of several issues. For a few, I’ve only seen a handful of copies trade within that span. Many of the census numbers hover in the teens.
  6. Those are nasty. Just incredible. I ended up parting with my #5. Someone else really wanted it.
  7. Space Adventures 59 CGC 7.0 - Off-White Pages - $115 Two in the census - both 7.0s, so tied for highest, I guess. Not an easy book in decent shape, like the 47 above.
  8. Space Adventures 47 CGC 5.0 - Off-White Pages - $55 I was working on a run of this title for a while. This was the last issue I needed. Not easy to find something that isn't a beater. Can say that from firsthand experience, chasing. Three in the census.
  9. Space Adventures 4 CGC 6.5 - Off-White to White Pages - $375 Tough book, only 10 in the census (highest graded is an 8.5). Back cover, per request
  10. Prize Comics 60 CGC 4.0 - Off-White Pages - $135 Presents well but has some water exposure on upper and lower end of spine (visible from back). Nice book.
  11. Don Winslow of the Navy CGC 6.5 - Off-White to White - $125 Love this cover and belongs in the "best underwater cover" thread in the GA forum. I thought this would grade much higher. Very nice for the grade.
  12. Blue Beetle 4 CGC 7.0 (1965) - Off-White to White Pages - $55
  13. Air Pirates 2 CGC 9.6 - Off-White to White Page - $260 Disney parody banned from sales. Last issue and tougher than the first, IMO.
  14. Air Pirates 1 CGC 8.5 - Off-White to White Pages - $185 Disney parody that I'm sure enraged Disney execs in 1971. Mickey has bags of "dope" affixed to his plane on the cover.
  15. All-American 101 CGC 6.0 - Off-White to White Pages - $325 From the tougher part of the run. Some of those later issues are pretty tough in decent shape.
  16. Letting go of some funny books. Because that's what I do on a Black Friday...instead of work...or shopping...or house chores...or all the things I should be. The rules of the road.... 1. PayPal or certified check only. 2. First unconditional claim posted in the sales thread wins the book. A post in the thread takes precedence over any PM sale that might be agreed to but not yet posted to the sales thread. 3. Shipping within the US included. Canada, UK or Australia, please inquire. I'll follow your directions, within reason, but shipping not included outside the US. 4. Insurance not included. Let's chat through what you need before we finalize price and you send payment. 5. All books are slabbed by CGC. You know what you're getting. No returns, as a result. 6. I'd be open to time payments, as many kind boardies have provided me with same. 7. No HOS or probation boardies. I also reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone for any reason. Sorry, in advance, for the glare. All pics from my phone. I am a straight-shooter. I've been on the boards for several years - doing decent sized transactions without hassle. Happy to provide references, if you need. My kudos thread is referenced in my signature, if needed. I have books pressed. Not all, but a fair number, and I don't track it well. Just assume a book is pressed when you snag it.
  17. Hi friends, I have a few books with some small blights that I'd like to have taken care of on some Golden Age goodies (minor CT, some tear seals, etc.). Possible to provide a recommendation or two for someone/a shop with super-skilled hands, a keen eye, and some scruples? Don't say CCS, as they've lost my trust through some far-below-shoddy work. No one should use that shop, but I digress. I'm a seasoned collector, so I understand the pros/cons of this. These are all minor edits, nothing major. Thanks, BarristerBaker
  18. They don’t seem to offer great support. Hope he has some inserts in those. Also, say I was getting ready to tussle with that monster, I’m going straight to the feet. Clearly a sensitive spot.
  19. Not an easy one. No idea why that monster has slippers on.
