  1. Beautiful pages. Congrats on grabbing yet another iconic book!
  2. eccomic, after learning a lot about the history of the Canadian Whites in last years Alter Ego Magazine, I've been really curious to read some of the original stories of Johnny Canuck, Nelvana and the original Mr. Monster. Maybe it's the fact that I'm half Canadian (my dad was from North Battleford, SK), but I think you would be doing the world a service by archiving and uploading these books for the world to see online.
  3. My copy says #32... This truly is an Amazing Mystery! Perhaps the #35 is a foreign copy?
  4. Here's some back cover pin-up goodness with The Scarlet Witch:
  5. That one had a back cover ad I've never seen before! Anyone have any of these British pins?
  6. Some foreign Dr. Strange stuff. First up, a UK only cover unpublished in the States:
  7. DOCTOR CENTELLA! All I need are issues #10, 11, 14 and 15 to complete the entire Mexican series. In Spain he's called Doctor Extraño and those never seem to come up on American eBay. They have some great painted covers and I would love to get some in my collection.
  8. This site has some thoughts on that. Personally, I pronounce it "KA-thoo-LOO", although some snobby fanboys would probably take issue with that in the same way they take issue with me pronouncing karaoke "KERRIE-OAKIE". You can read all of HP Lovecraft's works for free on the web, including Call of Cthulhu, by going to this site.
  9. I got this for my pals Erich and Rebecca when they got married. We're all big Lovecraft fans and the February 1928 issue of Weird Tales is the first printing anywhere of "Call of Cthulhu". The colors on this book are amazing. The red is vibrant and bright and the pages are held in tight, despite the giant bite down the middle from... something. Rats? A dog? Perhaps a tentacled shambling horror from beyond? IA! IA! Personally, I think the spine damage gives the book some character. It was a great wedding gift!
  10. I updated the photos of my collection room, The Sanctum Sanctorum West. There's been some additions in the last few months, and thought some new pictures would be nice to share with everyone for X-mas:
  11. Wanted a copy of this for years. A fanzine with an original Ditko Dr. Strange cover from 1965... Rarer than hen's teeth!
  12. I was up in the Bay area this weekend for a group art show I was part of. On Saturday my wife and I decided to go into Berkeley for the day and we visited the shop Comic Relief. I got 2 Strange Tales books for $10 each, a VG- #117 and a mid-grade #154. When I went to examine the books over lunch, my eyes nearly popped out of the sockets when I realized the ST #154 was a double cover! My first silver age double c and a nice Dr Strange one to boot!
  13. Love how this one says "Yo Dormammu". Sounds like a rap album.
  14. Here's some more. I had issue #1 already, but figured I'd show it since I got 11 books and wanted to keep my scans consistant:
  15. Not even in the same ballpark as the Supes #1 or the AF #15, but I got some Mexican Dr. Strange comics this weekend I'd like to share. They were published by La Prensa and came out in the 60's and early 70's. Hard to find in good shape, and some of these are VG at best. Still, foreign printings are more like interesting addendums to my collection, so I'm not too picky when it comes to grade. The Dr. Centella issue below is a double (found out after I got it that I already had one. ) If anyone's interested in getting it, PM me.
  16. Here's a rarity you don't see every day: An Australian Yaffa Publishing digest sized reprint of Strange Tales #123. The interior date says 1962, but I know that's wrong since the original American printing wasn't until 1964. A little beat up, but you don't see these things pop up every day in ANY condition...
  17. Not a huge Lienil Yu fan, but absolutely loved these pages from New Avengers #34 so much I had to get them. Night Nurse kind of looks like my wife in these:
