  1. Two Revival #1 sketches just sold yesterday for the same prices as they were back in May-2013: CGC 9.8 blue label: $220 CGC 9.8 SS: $330 It's an incredibly small sample set, but it looks like Revival has recovered from its ~10% drop from over the summer. Number of sketch covers: Total: 500 Blue label 9.8: 63 Yellow label 9.8: 25
  2. (New Chew reader) I was being too impatient & too crtical at first. I was about to drop it at the beginning of issue #3. But I now see some of the very beginning of Chew as build up (which is common). I found the end of issue #3 to be hilarious.
  3. Ooooooooohhhh, read that as "Marvel might be relaunching Infinity at #1", and thought you were making a joke. hhahahah, could you imagine?!?!?! http://icv2.com/articles/markets/26673.html
  4. I bought the one above for $33. I value a raw NM version in the low twenties. In this instance, the seller had high res scans in which I saw no defects. I have my fingers crossed that it is truly a 9.8 candidate. I was expecting a forum post re: my purchase above. Upon further examination of the scans, there seems to be a bit of corner damage in the upper left corner (you can see it in the scan of the rear of the comic-- for that picture its in the upper right). meh
  5. As displayed with my asterisk, it is a common theme. That said, the timing is unreal. I believe that ABC is trying to spoil things for NBC Universal's Revival.
  6. For those unfamiliar with Ressurection: it is a television series in production by ABC. One of the producers is Brad Pitt. Some wonder if ABC expedited its release so they can beat NBC to the punch such that if NBC releases Revival, it will seem that NBC is the copy cat. But if anything, the exact opposite is true* NBC Universal picks up Revival: Nov-2012 ABC picks up Jason Mott's novel 'The Returned' in Dec-2012. Mott's novel was released last week, 27-Aug-2013, over a year after Revival  If the television series Ressurection has a police investigation on the ressurected in each episode. And information is revealed in every police case. ~~ if that happens, a vein will pop in my brain! :frustrated: * then again, there are many stories on the dead coming back to life. IMO, ABC is trying to make things difficult on NBC.
  7. I pray that prospective Revival readers avoid my predictions.
  8. I'm gonna go all defensive. Revival is as old as PP and Saga. Revival's one to own (#1 sketch) has retained its value as much as the Saga RRP ($220 and $520 respectively over the summer months). One of my favorite threads here is Revival. Many members (eg- Harvey) minimize speculation and put most weight on the story. I never saw anyone post any re: an NBC Universal affiliate (Syfy) sponsoring the French tpb over six months after NBC picked it up. Most posts are speculation not on tv/movies but what is happening next in the story. The story is about an A- overall story that has one of the best early hooks in modern comics IMO. The hook in the first issue is A+++ and has helped to pull in new readers. And yes, I realize that those on the CGC/modern/Revival do not make up all Revival collectors.
  9. Dog days of summer are still here. On Feebay just now (4-Sept-2013): Revival #1 blue label 9.8 for less than $30 Peter Panzerfaust #9 (first capt hook) SS 9.8 for $46
  10. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=47176 There's an interview with Tim Seeley re: Revival hitting its first anniversary. My favorite line from that interview: "We've got tons of ideas and here's the cool thing -- we actually know where this is going! So stick with us!
  11. Are you talking about the regular issue number 1 or a variant? The number one looks to sell for around cover or less. I was adding to the Batman #1 (Snyder) discussiin. My point was that you can find batman incorporated #1 for dirt cheap, at cover price like you said. I was not expecting that since (1) first appearance and (2) there were some Animal Planet & Batcow rumors floating around. I was referring to CGC 9.8. You can easily find the normal cover for $50. A recent Febay auction had them go both together for $60.
  12. I was expecting Batman Incorporated #1 to sell for $100. But that has not been the case; it's selling for $50. Batman Incorporated #1 = first appearance of Batcow.
  13. I am hijacking this thread a bit as I don't think this warrants its own thread: Do not hesitate to submit a problem into Ebay's Resolution Center -- even if the seller says they will issue a refund. If you do not submit a claim within 45 days of purchase date, you will lose your ability to submit a claim. In my case, it happened on a $90 item.
  14. For answers to some of your concerns: read issue 4! And yes -- there is an Eddie Bunker documentary currently in post production. All your wishes are coming true! Maybe I spoke too soon; I just started issue #4. I hope that's the case. I do see new readers having a little trouble with some of the lingo. That documentrary sounds exciting.
  15. I don't usually point out individual sellers but 1) they are not me and 2) August brings upon great prices but good items are limited. All comics are CGC 9.8 certified. The AVX listings are very rare & have $0.99 starting bids without a reserve. Uncanny Avengers variants: http://myworld.ebay.com/nmrhoridge AVX 1:200 sketch variants: http://myworld.ebay.com/comic_blues2426
  16. TL; DR I'm not buying into Todd. My investment of two raw sets will not grow. That's my take.
  17. I don't follow the Chew forum, so my apologizes if this is repeat information: http://cinemablend.com/television/TV-Adaptation-Beloved-Edgy-Comic-Chew-Back-58037.html
  18. I wouldnt read too much into the price drop. It's just the summer time arouns SDCC slump. I watch all the items which I already own. Wolverine #1 sketch Deadpool variants TWD 27, 31, 48, 53 #1 variants (Examples -- list not inclusive) All have had some sort of a summer price dip. With the exception for Clone, Todd, PP, etc -- there has been a general drop in price. I was expecting #1 sketch to drop to $205 not $190 butI'm splitting hairs at that point. I
  19. A run of phantom variants SS 9.8 by Tim Seeley (8 total) were not bid upon at $400. A triple signed #9 C2E2 (limited to 500) SS 9.8 sold for only $55. The #1 sketch variant price has dropped from $240 (May-2013) to $190 (now). Readers are very happy. People are getting impatient since no television news has come out since Nov-2012.
  20. So they are going to make a Flash tv show about a character thats not in their current universe? Good question. Someone asked a similar question on reddit:
  21. The Flash television report has also been confirmed by IGN and Coast City. Flash will have a prominent role in Arrow season 2. If successful, Wally West will have his own show.
  22. Along with a possible movie (2016), the Flash is now being brought to television. It looks like DC comics are trying to go punch for punch with Marvel. http://www.newsarama.com/18522-report-the-flash-running-to-live-action-on-cw-thanks-to-arrow-s-success.html
