  1. Getting that way, hell there is even some apprehension about The Strain still and that is already been promised 13 episodes . Like people won't fully believe it till they are watching it themselves. I've already been seeing teasers and advertisements for Strain. So that one is safe, and will definitely be airing. However, who knows if it will be popular and get a second season. Exactly, if the show brings fans that want to buy the comics then value will be solid. If the show is a dud then the book won't sustain value and it will drop like Sixth Gun. There's no safety zone with this sort of speculation unless the property becomes established in pop culture. Fans maintain long term value, not options, shows or even movies, remember that RIPD movie from last year Shows and movies can help create more fans but they have to be good to do that. The Strain will be 13 episodes unless FX decides not to air all episodes. If it becomes very successful, it likely won't stretch past 3 seasons; the writers have a firm end to the story. @Mike'sRack -- you took the words out of my mouth. I was going to use '2 Guns' as an example. Even with a rating of 7 on IMDb, the 2 Guns comic (BOOM Studios) didn't blow up.

  3. Thanks for the feedback. If anyone wants to give any input on the corner of the comic, please PM me. I wouldn't be so upset if this was Ken/MK. But it's Ken/Erik_Carter. I think a 2X SS in 9.8 condition with Ken/Carter with a signature date of July-2013 or earlier is a superb find for any Todd collector! Happy Hunting, everyone!
  4. I edited my previous posts; I replaced the picture of the damage with a better image. I don't like the look of the corner. I haven't seen many 9.8 slabs with corners like that. I hope you're correct. I love these two sigs and I love this book.
  5. Is the line right above the small print a crease on the comic, a crack in the case, or a reflection? That's the crack. I can PM you more pictures if you're curious. That's the corner I believe that was compromised such that when I send it into CGC for a reholder, it will no longer be deemed a 9.8.
  6. I am still steaming. Not only does it have two A+ signatures: the book was signed back on 20-July-2013.
  7. (1) The package denotes no shipping insurance. (2) The actual shipping box was damaged. Thankfully, I took pictures before opening the box. I sent those pictures to the seller too. (3) The seller used a box smaller than a 1095 & medium flat rate boxes. He wrapped the slab in bubble wrap but surrounded it with newspaper. (4) Normally I would ask for $27 for a reholder fee. But in this instance, I am asking for a refund. it looks like the comic book took some damage (see the cropped picture in the previous post). Lastly: I do not want to turn this into suggested resolution thread/discussion. Those who know how to package properly, know you need to use a 1095 box. Even your USPS mailing boxes are too small. He messed up with the packaging. I merely wanted to vent; I was looking forward to putting this book on my mantel (I have never looked forward getting my paws on slabbed book so much). This slab was going to be my center mantel piece. That said, I will listen to anyone who agrees or disagrees that the comic book was compromised.
  8. I would normally re-send into CGC. But I asked the seller for a refund. I'm afraid the comic is compromised. With this corner damage, I don't think it's still a 9.8.
  9. I am very upset. I had a terrific find: Todd #! First Print CGC SS 9.8 -- signed by Ken Kristensen and Erik Carter. But the postal service damaged it in transit. Pictures below.
  10. Interesting conjecture. Have any facts to back this up, or is it simply your choice to throw the artist under the bus? ... My sauce (source) was from reading these boards. I was under the impression that the new artist was causing the most recent delay. And...this is what happens when people start spouting unsubstantiated claims as fact. I was mistaken by my memory. I thought the recent delay was caused by the artist. I was incorrect. That's cool, and I'm not trying to single you out, as I know this type of "conjecture as fact" is all too common on these forums (and on this thread). These forums should be for sharing actual information, but all too often there is more misinformation than anything else, which can be very unfair to the creators. Maybe my subconscious has a vendetta against the Bedlam artists. My : I greatly dislike Riley Rossmo's art. I even enjoy Rob Liefeld's art more than Riley. The art in Bedlam is worse than almost any other book I've read recently. The only book with worse art is Hoax Hunters (artist Tristan Jones). My favorite artists include: Jenny Frison, Fiona Staples, Emma Rios, Matthew Roberts, Chip Zdarsky, Tyler Jenkins, johnnie christmas, Matteo Scalera and Brian Stelfreeze. 11. Interesting conjecture. Have any facts to back this up, or is it simply your choice to throw the artist under the bus? Presenting conjecture as fact is a bit disingenuous. There have been delays on BOTH arcs thus far, each with a different artist. As such, I think it'd be just as likely, if not more so, that the delays are the writer's fault, since he is the common denominator in both cases. Again, though, this is merely conjecture on my part, and is being stated as such. My sauce (source) was from reading these boards. I was under the impression that the new artist was causing the most recent delay. And...this is what happens when people start spouting unsubstantiated claims as fact. I was mistaken by my memory. 13. The art continues to suck. There's been release delays lately due to the subpar art. The story For you, Paperheart, if you didn't like issue #1, you likely won't enjoy the rest. For someone one new to Bedlam: it's a crime mystery with a focus on psychotic serial killers. A reformed killer who has become a new person helps the police investigate killing sprees. If you enjoy television series Dexter & especially Luther, Bedlam is for you.
  14. IMO, the two most likely to succeed are: Mind MGMT and Todd. Since you listed Dreadstar in there, I think Mystique, Gambit Deadpool and Doctor Strange should be added to the list. Many speculate that Doctor Strange will be in the phase three of the Marvel movies. they leverage Brian K. Vaughan's Doctor Strange story arc, The Oath (2006). Winter Soldier spoiler below Yes, you are correct. The speculation that remains is when (Marvel movie phase 3) and which story arc? If you are interested in the latter (which story arc), I recommend this Top 5 countdown by the Emergency Awesome YouTube Channel [5:10]
  15. I feel like I'm in the minority with: Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool. Make it happen already!

  17. You forgot Day Men Let's not forget Todd and Mind MGMT!
  18. The Strain will be airing this July on FX. I believe they made a 13 episode order. No longer a rumor. http://www.fxnetworks.com/thestrain True. And Guillermo del Toro is targeting a run of three seasons. (thumbs u
  19. It was silly of me to make the below quote/post in a readers only CGC forum (The Modern Marvel Reader) last Friday. It looks like I made a good guess on the prices though. As for my next guess -- the long term value of Deadpool #27 It will not hold its value. Deadpool plot spoilers:
  20. This is crazy. There are much cheaper BINs rather than he paid for. Not really crazy, happens all the time on ebay. My (or my -- depending on how you look at it) I bought a Todd #1 (raw) immediately prior to the aforementioned auction. It was Ebay item ID #281253636913. I paid US$43 for the book because: (1) The seller took A+ pictures of every corner (2) The book looked very minty to me. For the auction linked in the quote above The pictures there are good too. #1 was not a 9.8 candidate in that particular auction. I think the buyer made a grading error or neglected the condition of the book entirely.
  21. Samsonite! I was way off!!! The above quote is from late 3Q2013 (August). To the Todd boardies: you're awesome. in other threads I have been flamed for mistakening an ash tray for an ashcan. In this thread, you left me alone with my uber silly comments (not flamed) Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth is now not only in my pull list but I've bought a few trades to give put to friends and family. Great work, Ken and M. K. I look forward to more.

  23. As displayed with my asterisk, it is a common theme. That said, the timing is unreal. I believe that ABC is trying to spoil things for NBC Universal's Revival. You snooze you lose as I always say. NBC should have stepped up and made it happen fast if that was the case [which I have a hard time believing it was] Those posts are from this thread (Sept-2013). I am well invested in this book (see four posts ago). I've done some analysis. The net of it is: TWD is survival horror. Revival made a twist on a common story such that there is most focus on death & how the 'was always alive' treat those who were once dead. (This fact is best articulated in Tim Seeley interviews). That niche was a bit untapped... until this Ressurection show surfaced.
  24. My Revival collection: http://imageshack.com/a/img855/2221/pli5.jpg Most purchases are from May-2013 #1 sketch cover blue label cost me $200 #1 sketch cover yellow label cost $275. #1 Phantom yellow label cost $50 I was able to obtain all others for less than $20. by my Ebay analysis: the one to own has held onto its price value. The other issues have dropped in value by 20% or so.
