  1. Yeah.. kinda kicking myself for not being patient on the Hardcover... even though it's only $15/20 bucks difference from what I paid. Not like I haven't wasted 20 bucks on worse things.

I can't complain too much since I had some great raw karma at my local con a couple weeks back (non EOW books).

  2. What was up with Hershel and Carl finding a camp site outside the prison when Hershel was picking elderberries . Who was camping outside of a prison? Looked like some type of large trap on the one zombies leg near the tent ? Any thoughts?

Well, that one walker WAS kind of fused to the tree, so they had definitely been there quite awhile. Whether the trap was setup by their camp or not: who knows. But yeah, camping near a prison isn't exactly my kind of getaway either :P

  3. I think Carol killed Karen and Dave when they were sick.

    She sure did...IMO

While that is what happened, what led you to believe that was the answer? I didn't suspect her at all.

when Ty went to go talk to her, after the whole scene, I sensed she felt sadness and guilt for something she did which made me put the pieces together.

Right with you there. That reaction was very well enacted and shot for the audience to get that hunch.

  4. Thanks for all the feedback guys. The lighting is harsh, but the best i can get in my dimly lit apartment. It is non-color breaking to clarify. The white you see is just reflection to the light above.. no white is seen on the book.

  5. You should throw up a picture maybe we can give you our opinion on grade.

Other than that, pretty much flawless from what I can tell. Sharp corners, no smudging on back. This "crease" goes in about 3 spreads deep into the book's pages.

  6. Back in June I paid $100 cash and trade of two books for my raw RRP (Hellraiser Emerald City Con Variant and Tech Jacket #1... which I snagged for $1 each before that deal)

My RRP copy has a slight NCB corner crease from when the cover was folded and would grade approx 9.2 I think. MIGHT press out to better, but might need advice on if that's accurate or not.

  7. Been a fan of Benitez's Lady Mechanika books for some time (if #4 would ever come out!)

Looks like that sketch sold for $150 plus $7 S+H, btw. I didn't buy it, but would have if $ were no issue!

p.s. - You can tell Dragotta really phoned in the sig on that one ... WOW sloppy.

    And Jonathan didn't? :-)

Ha! Yeah, Jonathan's pretty much always looks like that. I'm sure they were both probably running out of Sharpie ink every day.

  9. trying not to buy before the con is killing me I had to do it :insane:

Was that the one that was just on the bay?? Yep, I see it is. Good job!... guess you wanted it more than I did :P

I was in touch with a boardie who was at SDCC about the exact same print and wasn't able to get it for me... (yet..) :juggle:

  10. Why not send it in with a prescreen?

BTW, I have seen graders at CGC treat ink smudges on very differently from each other. I had a book that had a slight smudge on the front cover, already graded 9.4, that I thought a press might be able to lift. Pressing lifted it a little (but not much) but the book looked beautiful so I sent it in to get graded. It came back a 9.0. I had it pressed again and sent in again, came back a 9.0. I sat on it for a few months, cracked it, thought (again) that it looked beautiful, sent it in with a prescreen, and it came back 9.8.

This is why I'm hesitant to sub my own books. :o Coin Toss much?

  11. The sketch variant for #4 wasn't a show exclusive ...

I had heard that there were versions that said "Convention Exclusive" somewhere though. I've got a small stack of the #4 blanks, but none that say this.

Also, 500 pages in this thread now!

    6 days til #6

  12. :hi: I watched the Robocop trailer (just to see it) and I'm not a fan. I'm sure there are plenty like me, thus I support the notion that views do not translate into solid interest or a good investment.

    ALSO:

East of West RRP is heating up even FURTHER. over $200 for a raw recently.

  13. I think this is what happens when you catch Nick the second before he takes his first bite of lunch after a long morning. As with any sig, unless it's a yellow slab, you never know. Seller has good feedback, so I guess that's a start if you really want to dissect it and are considering a purchase. I like his "sketch sig" style more anyway.

  14. Looks like Midtown finally sold out of the #1 first prints... only 5 months after release! They must have sold the last few copies at $6 before running completely out. Can only imagine how many long boxes they had of it at launch.

Oh yeah, and 7 days til #5 !

  15. If only SyFy started a high quality "after dark" type time slot... this would be perfect for EoW. I can't think of any TV network that would work well at this point for live action (non-animated). All this aside from the fact a lot of SyFy shows are kind of campy of course.

  16. Just curious what other EoW collectors would do...

I found an RRP for sale. It has a couple moderate color breaking spine ticks and a 1/4" front cover ding/crease combo on an edge. Back cover looks good. I would liberally probably put it around an 8.0 - 8.5.

If you stumbled upon this like I did, what's a number in your head that you'd be happy spending to walk out with it - given only my description of course?

I'm not selling the book in question - just trying to get some advice/shunning for even thinking about it in the shape it's in :makepoint: Thanks hm
