I've been into the ongoing thanos book.its OK but I'm a thanos freak. The weapons of mutant destruction storyline has been good and got me reading weapon x.kinda like wolverine is still around.

Wildcats C.A.T. 32 is supposedly the last NS in the series.coincidentally a NS I found recently.

So I happened to look tec 880 up on ebay recently after seeing it posted here and thought,yeah that would be cool to add to the collection...until I see raw copies hitting 100+ So that got me thinking,aside from the jock joker cover.(there's nothing monumental happening inside is there?) What other modern non key,non variants are topping this issue valuewise? I can't think of any marvel books.and the only others would be Catwoman hughes issues. For discussion purposes,my modern point reference is gonna be in the 2005- up range. Disclaimer:just healthy discussion please don't shun me and say I should do my own homework,though I know this brings to light that aspect.I'm just curious,moderns are really out of my realm.and if it is topping tec 880 I can't see it being much of a secret.

I've had the search result not turn up frequently.one example being,having a seller set up a listing,I'll be watching their sellers page and the listing won't be there.oddly enough I do a manual search in the comic section and it shows up. Another search problem im having is using two different internet sources with my key word search.I've run lot searches at exactly the same time(one tablet)(one ps3) the ps3 turns up more results then my tablet by 100s. I know about the selective returned results.I've searched completed many times on books I'm after,as we all do.occasionally I'll see books I was looking for have ended and ended very cheaply at that.I won't stir any conspiracy theories.but have heard certain accounts won't yield a search based on your eBay account and performance vs the sellers. Odd things that make you wonder.

Is there a register for pgx? How many 10s have they given out? I'll admit to owning a few pgx's nothing spectacular or expensive cept for maybe my GRR FF 1. Grades seem to be in line.only thing I would say is of all of that I have,none have newton rings.

I've seen this term used for years and I know what it means but why or what does it truly mean? And why is it being used?Every book is in grade,a grade.it sounds like broken English to me.I'm thinking somewhere down the road someone read something that was an incomplete sentence and kept using it and it became an accepted termonolgy. Or I'm completely missing something else.I've often considered it could be an abbreviation since its usually in reference of higher grade books.in grade=investment grade. Just something that baffles me. Off to watch preacher season finale'.

So how did frank get unfrankencastled? I always thought it was pretty badas... When Daken chopped him up in the list,hard to believe I was rooting for daken to kill frank but... Yeah,what can you do? Believe me I didn't want to sell them.looking back I guess I can blame my roommate,they couldn't come up with their end of the rent so that was the save.as it is that didn't even last much longer and wound up back home for awhile anyway.speaking of back home and NM 98.another little comic tale...back in NY around 94/95 I had been collecting pretty serious for a couple years.one of the shops I went to called book ends in Eastwood,NY was closing.the store manager rich let me in early on the sale,all books $1 except wall books.I remember going thru a box filled with NMs thumbed past quite a few 98s.hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it? Well I did clean up on 70s marvel horror titles.none of them were even keys.uhm why?

Was digging thru some of my original comic collection from the 80s of what's left of it and noticed this bag.its all I have left of my AF 15. The story: around 85,86 I received a call from titan comics Cumberland GA location.they had an AF 15,coverless for me that I had put on a want list.$30.00 and its yours.OK let's go mom! Sadly I no longer have it.sometime in 92 rent was due and I had the brainstorm of selling my comics to a local shop.the books I took and price i took would make you cry.I'm sore at comic stores to this day.how they convinced me comics wouldn't be worth squat and this is the best we can give you,blah,blah.just a short example of what I had,FF 1,x-men 1,gs1 to 120.hulk 181,asm 2,14,129 etc tons of keys all marvels some dc silver about a short box for the princely sum of $300. I remember going back into the place a few weeks later and seeing my x-men 1 for $700.ouch.well I've bought back everything I had(almost)within the last 5 years.lower grades then I had and many thousand dollars.looking back now i should of bought AF 15 when I got back in.oh well I have this small momento.

See,I thought you meant,after a crash are current PGX prices what you'd expect.to me the whole market is so high and just keeps going up at a too unrealistic rate.those pgx prices to me dont look so bad.again it my 80s mentality at work.I don't come from the camp that a book only 6 months ago that consistently sold for say $50 for years and becomes many multiples overnight and that's how it is.I'm sure to sellers its great.I don't sell,not in for investment.its still just a hobby to me,though extremely expensive vs how it used to be,at least for keys and high grade.I still collect runs and patient buying(thanks to the internet)allows for cheap fills.

Are those prices really that bad? I remember being a young teenage collector in the 80s and always thought prices were pretty static and thought they would stay that way and that's how it was. Todays version of comic collecting seems to be it always needs to be elavating.some dips occur,cool off period with an eventual rise return. I don't think it will matter if there were a crash.there will always be people buying them.the internet has really changed everything about the hobby.

Interesting,so CGC didn't note the cover piece replacement? Is it possible the cutout is actually the original piece? It looks really good,before you said anything I looked the cover over a lot and couldn't spot.and still can't knowing. I have a similar thing with my x-men 1 where one of the in house ad pages cover was cut out but taped back in.the CGC label just says tape on page 15.

I don't know anything about lobo,but that cover sure reeks of infinity gauntlet.

I'd like to see them do Annihilation.FF would fit in perfect. leave it all in space.aren't the FF off adventuring in space now anyway? Annihilus and the FF are like pb&j.they could meet the shi'ar and champion and go from there with the annihilation wave.

If the movie theme vs cultural influence takes hold in the future. Theres one series that has all that and broke that ground in comics pretty early. Faust. Pretty much has everything jc mentioned. It was popular enough for awhile that it spawned a flop movie.i love Faust and vigils art.the movie,every once in a while I've got to watch it.an update with a real budget and the real ending might be a fun future flick.

One thing I've done,that doesn't include GA and SA though,is have a graded example of all the ranges 1.0 thru 9.8. It gives you a sample in hand to visually inspect and compare your raw books. A modern with more then 5 spine ticks? Reader.may grade in the vf range.

That $20 box is unreal.bet someone forgot about that one and knowledgeable about comics with those keys in it.3 gambits 2 carnages and a punisher in a pear tree.nice early Xmas present.

Knowing state farm,you'll be optioned to keep and declared totaled.my trans am had far less impact damage and was considered totaled.
