  1. Either the book has super cover gloss or Heritage is jacking up their scans?
  2. Love that cover, will have to add a copy to my collection one day.
  3. Some pretty smokin books you have there.
  4. Ligthen up there Zonker, just a general comment about the book not your taste in books. ya gotta watch what ya say dude - us DC fans can be quite sensitive.......... Yeah like a bunch of 8-year olds.
  5. Ligthen up there Zonker, just a general comment about the book not your taste in books.
  6. I hope you guys can land these but you realize that you probably just drove the price up.
  7. Nice pickup FFB but those DC covers never cease to amaze with with how stupid they can get. New heights of lameness with this one.
  8. Get him to become a board member and show some of these puppies off.
  9. Love the early issues even if the Antman stories are super lame. That is on phase two of my TTA run as I'm trying to comlete 70-101 first. However, my favorite covers are done by Severin, #93, 98, 100 and 101. Subby, Surfer and the Hulk dukeing it out.
  10. Damn it Hook, now I'm going to have to buy a copy of that issue.
  11. Mark, What are those notations on the front cover or first page? That would pretty much give this book away, no? I would suggest that you post a separate thread (if you haven't already) in the general forum and the market place.
  12. Well it was fun while it lasted, being in the top 3 of the registry, but I knew it wouldn't last. Just did a quick scan of your set and the census and I am surprised to see that issue #35 is so rare in high grade. One at 9.6 and nothing until 9.0. This is one of the funnest runs and I agree that overall they are undervalued.
  13. One of my favorite covers and a treasure of my collection.
  14. It is a disturbing cover, and notably "timely" as this month is the 60th anniversary of the Russian liberation of Auschwitz. Period covers appeal to me as a reflection of different times - WWII covers, cold war covers, covers showing vintage automobiles and fashion, etc.,. That what I love about GA books, they really give you a perspective on the mind set of the western world back in the day. World War II was truly about fighting for one's country, true hero's. Unfortunantely wars today try and play on this theme but with little success in my mind. Hard to 100% endorse those brave soliders who have to put their neck on the line when really the main cause is more about commerce and gaining access to oil fields, etc.
  15. Centerfold gets detached and they label it as "qualified"? What the heck is that? Why don't they just give a final blue label grade instead?
  16. That book is sick. Do you make it a practice of getting the slabbs updated or do you just leave them? The new labels look so much better.
  17. Big Kudos to Blazing Bob and Aces for some old Heritage auction catelogs. Kudos to Doug at Pedigree for a pile of nice books and extra kudos for Arex Crooke for acting as my U.S. shipping counterpart.
