  1. +1 Ken u have once again exceeded my expectations...in both a literary sense and immorally. U my friend are my kind of twisted.
  2. Great books great packaging. Highly recommended. Super fast shipping
  3. I would be disappointed and appalled if Todd goes PG-13. Ed Asner Rocks. Ken don't take this the wrong way but the anticipation is giving me "faux" wood. I cannot wait. BTW Ken I have heard that only Milton Berle's Gang Bang's were more legendary than Ed Asner's. Ah, yes: "Berle's Bangs," we used to call them. Those were the days. So apropos that you would comment "Those were the days" because Carol O'Connor was a frequent attendee.

  5. Amazing ending to a epic show perfect. Where Sopranos fumbled at the Goal line Breaking Bad pulled a Bo Jackson against Brian Bosworth! can't forget that epic fail they called the ending of Dexter Have two episodes left to watch but i have always felt the character was far better than the show. I thought the Jimmy Smits and John Lithgow seasons were pretty good they were great I just don't understand what happened from then until now. I loved the show was behind it all the way but damn. Definitely veered off the track. Been with it from the premiere night. But it is more out of a bizarre loyalty than any real quality lately.

  8. No spoilers but Breaking Bad absolutely stuck the landing!!!!!!!!!!
  9. eb You are absolutely right. If we didn't love Todd, we wouldn't be here. I think most of the people in Todd's world would be fans of Al Bundy as am I Ha! We HAVE turned this into a classic TV thread. Another great show you should be watching: The Americans Curb your Enthusiasm and Veep are a couple of my favorites but I have a spot reserved for Todd!!! Todd TV Ken, any chance of getting Charlie Rose to star ? He did have star on the Simpsons so I feel he has paid his dues and earned a spot in the big leagues. +1 That would be great

  11. I can't stop watching boardwalk empire. Omar isn't gay anymore and he went back in time. It's solid. Boardwalk Empire is very good. How about Deadwood? Any fans. Love me some Al Swearingen. "Sweargin coc@$&cka"! HUGE love for Deadwood. Maybe my favorite 1-hr drama series ever. +1 The only show as an adult that every Sunday night I was waiting 5 minutes early to make sure I didn't miss the beginning. I've even followed stuff like Justified because I couldn't get enough. Every. Time I see one of these people on another show, I still think of Deadwood. (thumbs u Have you seen the movie Sexy Beast with Ben Kingsley? Ian McShane is great in that. Al Swearingen is one of my favorite Tv Characters of all time. I am assuming it is ok to talk about this in a Todd thread since Ken is participating.
  12. There are great shows and then there is Breaking Bad. Its simply in a league by itself. Its by far the best show I have seen in years. Being an ex-teacher myself I can somewhat feel the pain he goes thru making some of the decisions early on. He deserves every Emmy he gets ahold of its a role of a lifetime. I send the DVDs out as Christmas presents and recommend it to everyone I talk with. Again there are alot of great shows out there. Then.... there by itself above everything else is Breaking Bad. Tomorrow night is going to be both incredible and lousy. Now if Quentin Tarantino would just do a Breaking Bad movie...
  13. Especially when you think about Bryan Cranston as the dad from Malcom in the Middle (the episode where he teaches Malcom to roller skate still makes my ribcage hurt) and he was Dentist Tim Whatley on seinfeld. Talk about range. This season has hit on all cylinders.
  14. I know. Pretty psyched. I have a feeling the Marksman is going to be great.
  15. If the show is as good as I think it will be then it will hit Chew/Peter Panzerfaust levels IMHO. Nothing will accomplish what WD has if for no other reason than the show didn't hit until WD was into the 60s-70s.
  16. I can't stop watching boardwalk empire. Omar isn't gay anymore and he went back in time. It's solid. He whistles "Farmer in the Dell" to time travel. awake I'm going to have to go get the Wire. Never tried it but hear good stuff all of the time. Is it on netflix or hulu ? I don't think it is on either platform, but it's worth renting or even buying the dvd/blu rays. I re-watch it all the time on HBO Go. It's arguably the best TV show in the last 25 years, maybe even ever. There are so many good shows that have surfaced over the last 10 years that would be considered the best if they were released at a different time. The Wire and Sopranos really paved the way for great stuff we are seeing today. Unlike Sopranos, The Wire was really unappreciated when it came out (note no Emmy awards). It's also kind of uncomfortable in how real it gets. Also, just read #5...pure gold. Thanks for this book, Ken. I can't wait for #6. I liked Sopranos better but I honestly think The Wire is probably the best TV show ever. Easily the most underrated. HBO has ruined Network TV. And now AMC is carrying the torch. "McNutty" and "Bunk" rule.

Never tried it but hear good stuff all of the time. Is it on netflix or hulu ? I think u could make an argument that The Wire is the best TV show ever. My top Five: 1. Sopranos 2. Breaking Bad 3. The Wire 4. Arrested Development 5. Deadwood Of course I can make room for Todd when it comes out.
  18. After Showgirls watching Saved By the Bell is just nerve racking!

  20. Shield was good but I liked The character (Vick Macke) better than the show.

  22. Read #5 last night and really enjoyed it. I love the opening sequence with the Sinatra song, very cinematic. (Maybe a dumb question, but did you need to pay a fee to reproduce lyrics like that?) And the intertwining plots with CR, TW and the comic con were imaginative and funny. I also like how every issue has a synopsis at the beginning as a jumping-on point for new readers... good thinking and seems a bit of a lost art in comics these days. Good luck at NYCC! If I can I'll stop by and say hello. Definitely stop by and say hi at NYCC. We need all the friends we can get. That Sinatra sequence was our homage to The Sopranos. Any fans? And no, we didn't have to pay for the lyrics. I love previously bits on TV -- I could watch a whole season of "previously". I think Season 3 of The Sopranos is the Greatest season of TV of all time. Followed closely by The Wire Season 4 and this season of Breaking Bad.
  23. Yes, 2014. This week we've been brainstorming story lines for the first season. So much fun. Oh, and btw, the British Office is my favorite show of all time. I have always contended that if you saw the British version first you could never watch the US version. Tried one time and did not make it through an entire episode.
  24. Ken, Is 2014 the target for the show to start. I cannot wait for the show. I am looking forward to another "cringe-worthy" riot along the lines of Always Sunny, Ali G and the British version of The Office. Thank you for your time
