  1. I'll join the party with a MM group shot. I always considered myself a Blue Beetle collector first, so I sought out his GA appearances in whatever books I'd find him in. I ended up with way more Blue Beetle solo Fox books then MM but that's how the supply seemed to go.
  2. no idea but I'd pay good money to see Namora swim a couple laps
  3. Subby caught a wave, lots of rumors about a film all over the web about two weeks before this sale. Not surprised this book featuring his first cover sold at 6k. FF #4 has been en fuego.
  4. strong upward movement on the Tec225 5.0 OW/W. Went for $4601. Clink sold a 5.0 on 12/7/16 for $2,900 O/W PQ gpa reflects $2500 as last and highest sale so book seems to continue to show strength. Not sure if technically the book is GA but all good.
  5. Thanks for pointing that out! I did not know you can expand the listing out to get further grades.
  6. Yea, I got caught up in the live floor HA bidding for the Blue Beetle #1 (Charlton 64) 9.6 in 2015 and plunked down 5k. I was bummed gpa didn't record that sale and still reflects $2400 as the highest recorded sale, but it ain't. I clearly overpaid but at least I love the book. Hope he appears in a Booster Gold movie to save me at some point lol.
  7. cool I have an excuse to try out pics on the new boards. Here's BB21
  8. They should update their website, there's a photograph of it sitting pretty in the case: http://www.geppismuseum.com/Home/7/1/52/496?articleID=68870
  9. Can you explain these acronyms for non-Americans ? LoC is Library of Congress, got that one. Thanks. Michigan State University has an extensive comic connection. The Library of Congress has a copy. University of California at Riverside has a large comic collection but not an Action 1. The Ohio State University is famous for its comic art collection, and hascomics as well. Many other Universities without any specific emphasis on comic books have them. The University of Oregon, for example holds Gardner Fox's papers, including 600 comics. It would not shock me if some of the highly endowed University libraries with rare book collections have some valuable comics. I would also not be shocked if museums like the Smithsonian or Lucas' new LA museum have an Action 1. Geppi's Museum has a raw copy, or at least they still have it up on their website, which is a court edition copy apparently. http://comiccoverage.typepad.com/comic_coverage/2009/04/exhibit-a-action-comics-1.html
  10. my bad, grader notes do indicate the bug chews: Interior Centerfold Detached Whole Book Foxing Top Spine Medium Spine Split Front Cover Multiple Chews Back Cover Multiple Chews
  11. It's a bug that eats paper. Definitely need to call the exterminator if you find any crawling around your boxes! I purchased the grader notes from CGC and they noted "Whole Book Foxing". Is Foxing a different explanation than silverfish/bugs for the spotting on the cover per CGC, or is this one in the same? thanks They didn't mention the bug chews? Seems pretty clear that's the cause of the paper loss on the cover. Foxing is the result of mold. You can see a fair amount of it on the back cover. No they did not mention bug chews, silverfish et all. As soon as they email me the grader notes, I will post. I should have cut and pasted when I had the chance, hope they still email those like they did last year.

  13. GL 1 has exploded? Perhaps too big of a statement if the sale of the GL#1 5.5 for $14,800 last Dec on CC was an outlier. Or it's indicator of levels that book will continue to realize, we'll see. All bets are off if Alan Scott appears in the Green Lantern Corps film but that's a ways away.
  14. thoughts on where this badboy ends up? Imagine it will crush the last gpa of $41k set in 2015 for a 3.5 Seeing how the GL#1 recently exploded, this book could be in for a special ride. I'm setting the over/under at 75k http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=704518
  15. new to the boards, go easy on me Wondering if Heritage applies any additional photoshopping/filtering on their scans for these Hit Comics and the other books in the Signature sale. Comparing these images to the scans in their current Sunday sale, I do notice the blues in the signature sale labels to be slightly more deeply saturated, causing for an overall more "contrastly" look to the label. Comparing the upper right corner CGC sticker, one notices the same results - higher sense of contrast. I compared new holdered books. My reaction was yea filters were applied to get more of a pop but I don't know. sig sale https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/hit-comics-9-mile-high-pedigree-quality-1941-cgc-nm-94-white-pages/p/7158-17025.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515# sun sale https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/justice-league-of-america-61-dc-1968-cgc-nm-94-off-white-pages/a/121703-13374.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515#[/img]
  16. Yup. Very interesting that we`re finally seeing some fresh Church runs hitting the market, after years and years of the same books being recycled over and over. where are the Church Mystery Men Comics?
  17. I thought on the balance it was pretty good. They softened up the Martian Manhunter a bit from his days on JLA Unlimited when he clearly was the rock of the league and general all around badass. He's less a focal figure now which is probably some attempt to lessen his significance in the League to frame him up as a hero on the periphery because he doesn't fit in with the narrative of the upcoming movie. It was good to see Plastic Man but his humor was a bit out of place and I don't think they nailed the tone of Swamp Thing yet either. Wonder Woman still sports heels on her boots. Give the lady a break and put her in flats for crying out loud. There was a nice sequence of Booster Gold to help bring some comic relief. Bats is so heavy handed the routine got a bit predictable. He needs to lighten up.
  18. that 17 is just remarkable. I sent that book out for grading and was confident it would come back a 9.2 with an outside shot for a 9.4 and came back a 9.0. It's just so tough in those upper grades. well done.
  19. joining the fun and posting pics of a few nice high grade ASM I've collected. The ASM 15 has moved the most in price I think largely due to speculation that Kraven the Hunter may appear in future films. ASM #19 8.5 - from comiclink 2015 auction ASM #7 9.0 - from comicconnect event auction 2015 ASM #21 9.4 comiclink 2015 auction ASM #15 7.5
