Howdy folks, got three nice relatively inexpensive books for sale this evening. Here are the terms: Shipping is included in price (all shipped USPS priority mail) No international sales (sorry folks, U.S. domestic only on these books) No returns Paypal payment only (or Venmo is anyone uses that) First get the book. PMs welcome but really priced these books to sell as stated All books ship from foggy San Francisco. Sorry about some of the weird scanner glare. Need 1-2 days time to get to the post office after deal closed to get these out.

I didn't realize that Eisner based Skinny Bones in part on Lauren Bacall. I only noticed as I recently got a copy of this book and started looking into who this character was. I can't believe I didn't notice the resemblance after having seen Bogie/Bacall movies in the past. Does anyone know if any other Spirit covers have women based on other Hollywood starlets? Do you think Spirit 22's connection with Bacall accounts for some of it's premium value?

Will we ever experience another Marvel Comics success?
atomised replied to Aweandlorder's topic in Comics General
More successful than Marvel? No. That said, when I want to read comics I don't reach for the GA and SA books I've collected over the years. I read something like Locke & Key or say Jeff Lemire's Animal Man and find it very rewarding and in my opinion better and more complex than more popular titles that have reached the mainstream over the years. I can barely read the reprinted Timely Sub-Mariner volumes I have on the shelf. I just don't find it interesting. I don't collect contemporary books, such as material on the Image label, but it's fantastic to read. -

a MM7 just sold here on the boards, I love it! They're coming out of the woodwork, I barely had time to have a cup of morning coffee before that book was sold.

hah tell me more about that. But no, not my goal. In fact, when I started collecting the Blue Beetle about four years ago it had nothing to do with the publisher or any other goal other than I was looking for superheroes from the GA that were still active and relevant in the DC Universe that were a bit under the radar. The other guy I thought that fit that bill was Plastic Man. Fox books got hot along the way and I guess I was happy to be there but I still just like the Blue Beetle.

My first purchase from Dom and highly recommended. Book came perfectly packaged and the book surpassed expectations. Would be happy to purchase from Dom again.

I was the buyer of the book on Sunday, and I also picked up the Church MM7. Also have an 1.8. I did not think I would have to pay that much for a copy but as a Blue Beetle collector, outside of MM1 I think his first cover is his most important key. I did not think I would have to pay that much for the book to be honest, but I really wanted it. With only 7 copies in the census I'll get this graded shortly.

how many with no marvel chipping?

I like the AC23 1.8 but not sure I'll pull the trigger. Brittle pages and tape right on Superman but you gotta compromise somewhere to get this key at a reasonable price.

wow incredible, I did not know this. Thanks for the share!

Zelazny was the man, and both Neil Gaiman and George RR Martin cited him as a major influence. I think RR Martin is on the record as saying he borrowed the name Lord of Light found in Game of Thrones as an homage to Zelazny.

this is a kick- thread going here. I collected French royal memorabilia from the 16th century through the revolution then I finally gave it a rest, probably because I started to get into CGC books. The historical french documents were just so super niche and took months to clear French customs in some cases. Pic is a flintlock pistol from the second half of the 18th century and a page from a larger folio from Louis XV from 1716 so very early in the reign and probably signed for him by someone in the cabinet or a secretary. Certainly BRITTLE PAGES.

very nice! I'm not a collector but I have an 18th century Italian broadsword. I think Sahagom labeled blade with the running wolf mark might point to a much earlier time on the blade itself.

I thought there were just buyers like me on these boards
