  1. For Sale.....make me an offer....it's kind of a curiosity item Showcase-4 Collin, I only buy keys --- for 52 times guide. Since this is not a key, although a very cool item, your best bet would be to list this on Ebay in the Platinum Age section. since when did you pay over guide.... this will be a key as soon as I finish my research and get it published

  3. The Platinum Age began with The Yellow Kid in McFadden's Flats - 1897 The Brownies 1st appeared in a magazine called St. Nicholas in February, 1883 The Brownies - Their Book was printed in 1887, although it is bound more like a "book" than "comic book". Unfortunatley for collectors from this time period, The Brownies don't have a true 1st appearance, highly desirable "comic book" like The Yellow Kid does with McFadden's Flats. 'Their Book' is a square bound hard cover with multiple printings...that's a book. So what you're telling me is this thingamajigger is a pre-platinum comic kinda thingy. So.....It say comic on the cover? and is bound like one? Kinda smells like one
  4. an interior shot... not really a comic, but hey...neither is OO. Or is it?
  5. I'd love an image of Bernie signing the Swamp Thing 9.
  6. I've posted this in a different GA thread a while back, but I can't help myself.
  7. I need a copy of this one for my GGA collection. I'm pretty sure you can see through her blouse on the left side.
  8. We will find out how good you are when that IM comes back. I'm referring to the flash on Batman's nose I'm hoping I undergraded the IM 100.
  9. So you own the 9.0? Congrats. Thanks to Jon for not just sending it in and keeping it, vs giving me the chance to hang on to that one. Also thanks for posting the photo. I'm sure I didn't pay much for my copy either. (likely less than $1.00) It came from a collection of bronze age that I bought about 16 years ago, and I purchased the whole collection for a few hundred dollars. Multiple Marvel Spotlight #5's and other Bronze keys more than paid for the collection on my one trip to the San Diego con. I've sold a few of that collection on the boards and they are always well received. It was a Golden Age Collectibles (Seattle) employee from the 70's that bought multiples off the stands. I split the collection with another collector, who actually found the seller.
  10. The good thing about "Planet Comics" is that there really isn't a book within the run that's extremely undervalued in the OS guide. Your purchases will probably vary between 0.8 and 1.3 times guide for VF+ and lower books. Other GGA titles do have some books (Brenda Starr #14, Blue Beetle #54, Junior Comics #14, Wings Comics #89-91, Phantom Lady #23, Jo-Jo Comics #25, etc. ) that are completely out of wack when compared to guide. A Very True Statement....... But that's what makes it fun.
  11. I have many of the Tim Holt issues and that's a beauty. congrats. Undergraded in my opinion also.
  12. My guess is that the bidding did not go up to your maximum bid, but was less as indicated in the final cost plus buyers premium quoted.
  13. My first and only CGC sig series book to date. Sold this one to JonJesper and then he convinced me that I'd be better off to just have him send it to Chris the collector to get it signed for me instead. So instead of getting paid, I gave up a few nice books and this arrived in the mail a few (?) months later. Kudos and thanks to Jon and Chris..... Now for a bad scan
  14. "Haul" doesn't do this justice, more like a heist. It's only a heist if he paid .10 cents each "or what the heirs were asking". Looks like an expensive (but worth it) haul to me.
  15. Here's my Timely/Atlas stuff I got in Chicago. Doesn't quite have the same impact as the Marvel Mysteries though... Both "Hauls" are quite wonderful. Nice books.
  16. Nice pick ups......oh for the days when there were collectors around to buy/sell/swap and tell stories over lunch.
  17. I didn't know this was a Superhero only GA group shot forum thread? He just has super tough inside thighs and a extremely callussed (sp?) bottom.
