  1. kudos to detective27kid for a large box deal of GA fortresses.....he paid well before I even had them in hand. I appreciate the trust. Hope you enjoy them and safely protect some amazing gems.
  2. Mundane? Bite your tongue, man! This is Four Color! Ev'ry Will-Yum and Mortie Meekle is precious! Jack I wasn't specifically calling this or any book yet posted as mundane, but I know there are some out there....
  3. What a fun book, slowly but surely, we'll get every issue posted here....even the mundane.
  4. YOU ARE SO NOT ALLOWED TO START BUYING GOLDEN AGE
  5. Two 9.4 and two 9.2 of the phantom lady in the census One 9.6 and the next highest 7.5 on the red dragon. The 9.4 colors aren't too great (gotta love the Fox production quality) I'm going to say the Red Dragon as I think I could find a nice copy of the phantom lady easier................wait strike that...................I'll still go for the GGA .........I don't really think this is a fair comparison as I don't think they'll sell for near the same price in the Heritage Auction even though guide prices may be the same. I think the PL #16 will sell for much higher and has a much wider audience.
  6. kudos to topofthetotem for paying well in advance for a nice Marvel Spotlight #5 .............shipping monday................ I hope you enjoy it.....
  7. kudos to dmgcsr for some very fun lower grade GGA art covers....Black Terror 17 Thrilling 9 a nice package to return home to after vacation......thanks
  8. kudos to FT88 for some low grade sea devils and some very fun Groovy 1-3 copies....love those books. Thanks
  9. recent pick up in Florida....now to have the tape removed or not....no spine splits, so the tape was unnecessary. Apparently this was sold by Sotheby's at some point with a sticker 367/11 and tag numbers 20112132 09-11-676 76-08 Anyone know what these mean...I'd appreciate the history of the previous sale if anyone has it. I purchased this from ......Greg White.....(Nearmints nemesis) and I do not believe it's been restored in any way. Greg actually seemed like a fairly nice guy.....but....everyone has a horror story. Feel free to pm me. THX.
  10. It looks great now that the spine is repaired......and I was happy to do it. I got to read the issue, own it for a little while, and then send it along to a great home. Some day I might be collecting the early Superman issues and you may have to sell it back to me.
  11. As a gift, or after purchasing them for yourself? Sweet books, and a Merry Christmas to you.
  12. This is the first time I've seen Supersnipe on a rack from the 40's.... Please note I am not crazy...Superman is on the other end Top corner billing with Superman.. ............where's the love now.
  13. Very nice, cd! I used to own a copy of that book because I thought it was a rather classy cover. You're the first person I've mention the words "vacation" and "at my mother-in-law's" in the same sentence. That's not the half of it. We spend Christmas at the MIL's house, and I find out she's driving up to disney and spend all three nights with us in the condo. Mike At least I'm limiting the in law time and we're going to be having family time for at least 2 of the 3 weeks.
  14. That's why I kept the #30....the car on the cover was more interesting.
  15. The white pages on #28 will probably trump for people looking at both copies.
  16. I've owned high grade examples of both, and I sold the #28.....so my answer is the #30........apparently.
  17. Very Nice Books...I'd love to see them all in order, but reality comes in small doses. Thanks for the continued posting. I'll pull a few others out later. Here are a few that I've always liked. Four Color 1085 HG Wells The Time Machine......... Four Color 1243 Ellery Queen Detective................... Four Color 75 Gene Autry and the Wildcat (he's got on as much rouge as she does )
  18. Here's a pick up off ebay along with a few other books for the grand sum of $9.99 + shipping, which I combined with a few other wins so it added less than .50 cents to the per book cost. GGA, Early Laugh and a fun read............Low grade/Mid grade/High Grade....I love em all. Super Duck #8 Jughead #101 Archie #141 Jughead #56 Laugh #99 Laugh #24 Suzie #55 Wilber #7
  19. I'm loving these....wish I had your source....or resources......
  20. Kudos right back to you....always a pleasure. Happy holidays........
  21. How many years do you think it will take to get one image of each four color comic from the first and second series posted in this thread? Over 1300 issues strong with a first and second series..... I'll start it out with my earliest Four Color #9 Terry and the Pirates from Series I (Gerber 8)
