  1. It's really interesting that that's the current story, because when I was in Colorado, I had heard they all went to one collector to help finance the deal. I wonder if there's any truth to that and the owner and Chuck have a pact of silence. Conspiracy theory.
  2. Here's my duck addition for the thread. This is from 1942, issue #19 and has an interior article with bits and pieces about bob hope, gracie allen, roddy mcdowell (" the little english boy") and lots of other great items.
  3. Wow! I've never seen that scan before. Beautiful! Only one in the world Showoff!! a great book is always good for some mileage
  4. a recent inexpensive ebay pick up..........Liberty Comics 15
  5. How about this bad boy...... These are actually not too common.....who watched the show....come on admit your age. well before my time.............
  6. ouch...spending your retirement? Beautiful Copy.
  7. I'd say that's pretty incontrafutable proof. I'll give you that one.
  8. Not that I'm up on Green river or other pedigrees, but how do you know that this is from the same store as a pedgiree...............there are tons of books with date stamps similar to that one. I'm just curious what forensic evidence you'd be relying on. Like the numeral #9 has a distinctive tick on it. The standard date stamp spacing wouldn't likely be good enough, and the ink pad would be changing every so often, so what is it that makes you guys confident in a Ped based upon date stamp alone? I understand ped stamps, as I have an original owner collection that came out of Seattle that all have thick date stamps, similar in nature, and I haven't seen similar stamps on other books, but I'm sure they are out there if you look hard enough. ?? Thanks....
  9. You are very welcome and Kudos back to the true western collector on the boards. I'm glad it went to a good home. Enjoy the Western Thrillers #1, and now go find a new most wanted collectible....
  10. I need to read my FF 5 again, didn't see the cameo...but there's also a big full page ad for Hulk 1 in the book......
  11. WTB posts haven't been very successful for me here, but that's b/c I'm looking for tough books. I don't know that we'd want to impose guidelines as to how WTB posts should be formulated as most collectors will consider various combinations of grade, eye appeal, price, and page quality in determining what they'd pay. It is worth noting that there have actually been quite a few WTB posts recently, so the idea of a separate WTB forum may carry more weight now - I know that the last time we discussed dividing up the forums you decided not to break them out as there just wasn't enough volume to justify it, and you didn't want too many sub-categories in the marketplace. I think this would help since most WTB posts get pushed to the bottom of the viewing list within a day, if not a few hours. Having one spot to look through would make selling easier if I can match a buyer to a book instead of throwing it on ebay. I agree, I've posted WTB, and they get buried very very quickly. I've had a little luck, so it's definately a nice thing to be able to do.
  12. pm from me too............I read the thread and agonized with you .......
  13. I'm not a funny animal collector, but I love this cover.
  14. You're insane. If any dealer, EBay seller, consignment house or other online sales entity could just DUMP their entire stock list on here, it would totally defeat the purpose of splitting the forums up. You do realize that most board members do NOT want Metro, Neatstuff, ComicLink, etc, to be able to post their online stock for sale here, right? I can always check a website, or the dealer only forum...
  15. Harder to come by Black cover Volume 4 issues....bought it as a VG off ebay...........it's my undercopy, but I love a good deal and would buy these all day long. I'm a hoarder.
  16. Very nice....any restoration or was this from an OO....looks sweet
  17. Sweet, where's your LCS, and maybe you could pick up a couple books for me
  18. Kudos to Joeypost for a real nice Hulk 141...thanks...arrived today.
  19. Kudos to KorvacSaga (Rich) for a very nice CGC 8.5 ASM 74.....I need to call to see why it's not a 9.0 or higher. It's a very tight copy and the only things I can see are non color breaking type creases on the back that you have to turn the book at an angle to see. I'm sure that's why, but those are perfect defects. Thanks
  20. Kudos to CHIBAMM for a group of books from his quick sales low $$ thread. Thanks.
