THE VERDICT IS IN!  Just got word from CGC about my Amazing Fantasy #15

    CGC GRADE: 5.0

I was hoping for a 4.5 or better so I'm very pleased.  Thanks for all the opinions -- most were spot on or very close.

    Graders Notes:

Foxing full top of front cover
    marvel chipping front cover
small tear with crease bottom of front cover
small, multiple crease right bottom of front cover

    spine stress lines

    Congrats!

The CCS web site gives current turnaround time for pressing as 10-12 weeks.  Fast tracking reduces the estimated time to 4-6 weeks.

It's about a 2 month turnaround for fast track currently. Although I have one book from NYCC that is over 3 months now :frustrated:

Since October 24th, CopperAgeKids has had 2 ultra rare comics of mine (Batman #457 2nd print newsstand) and is not mailing them back to me.

He was suppose to press and sub them at VA comic con on October 30th.

Since then I've gotten story after story about mailing to CGC then subbing at Winter Con then mailing back to me etc.

So far nothing, meanwhile he regularly sells and ships out plenty of books on eBay.

UPDATE: Just received a tracking number on 2/2/17

    UPDATE: Books returned on 2/4/17

Glad to hear you got your books back

  4. Show was great! Nice meeting some of you guys Joey, Greggy, Genjo, and a few others. Unfortunately I missed the El Torito dinner because the wife and I had it the day before.

I bought a couple X-Men books off of Robotman, but didn't realize it was his booth. But thank you sir! Liefeld was there attending the show too. I wanted to get a pic but Mike Carbo kept talking to him even as I was saying hi after he walked away meh

The owner of my towns first LCS had a booth at the show. It was great seeing him after 20+ years. Bought a ton of silverage X-Men books from him for 60 - 70% off :)

It was great seeing the CGC booth busy the whole time I was there. Droping off books went smooth

  5. Well I just found out today it was a mix up. Terry had last years website still up and we didn't realize it. He had Desert Wind listed as a vendor which we thought was a courtesy since we had been to several of his prior shows and I called today to take care of table payment only to find out that they are sold out of tables, so we will not be coming after all. We were also told that they didn't want any additional guests. I was going to ask if they wanted Len Wein. Sorry about the mix up.

It would be cool if Len Wein comes to Long Beach :baiting:

  6. Just finished reading this thread. Congrats on the book. That is one great family heirloom. I'm looking forward to seeing it once it is graded. :)

One thing I did learn while reading this thread was that insurance from the post office doesn't count without a certified appraisal and receipts. Does anyone know what the max amount of insurance USPS will honor without those documents? (Sorry a little off topic)

  7. Ya know, it only starts with the first issue. Pretty soon, you're gonna feel that itch to get the whole Smith run in high grade.
It's funny you should say that. I was just telling one of my buddies it would be nice to have the whole BWS run. And you're right Savage Tales would be really cool to have
