  1. Just received two boxes of graded comics fresh back from CGC and most slabs are in nice condition, but there are a handful that have some issues. Looking for opinions as to whether these are worth returning for reholder and how this will affect resale value? These are all either 9.8 or 9.6.  Some have lite scratches but a few have good size scuffing on the back. Took some quick pics but not easy to show with the reflective slabs. I realize that there is always a risk sending these slabs back and forth through the mail and going through the whole process is a bit aggravating.

I also have a 9.4 that came back with a bent corner (not the first time this happened to me). That one is going back.

Is ebay still the primary choice for a seller's market? I'm more concerned with their fees and percentages they take.

I'd be more concerned with some of the "characters" on ebay, especially with high value books.

I sell all my slabbed comic books thru MyComicShop. 10% up to $300 and 8% above the $300 mark.

At least now while I am uploading my next submission to CGC I am now getting enjoyment of seeing YouTube videos of people uploading getting their invoices back from CCS/CGC where their CGC 6.5 Eternals #1 isn't worth what they thought it was when they submitted it after buying raw comics at 2020/2021 highs.

A lot of I "lost money" and "I thought this would grade higher."

Seeing the defeat :wavingwhiteflag: in their eyes is beautiful.

(Greggy hitting the confused button in 3 2.....)

Don't forget the "grader must have had a fight with his wife the night before" excuse.

  5. Taking photos of slabs.

Camera on tripod (using timer) with a black poster board or similar non reflective material behind camera to cut reflections on slab.

If room is too dark or light not even (flat),  lights can be used at about 45 degrees from both sides. If lights are too harsh, something like thin tissue paper can be put in front of lights to soften and spread illumination.

Light can also be bounced using a white board, also at 45 degrees so as not to reflect onto the slab.

  6. Check the indicia of the comic book to be sure you're using the full actual title. The submission form can be fussy with titles at times. Also check the date(s) offered to make sure it matches up. Not sure what comic you're submitting but one example could be .... "Amazing Spider-Man: Venom 3D #1" .... Might need a call to CGC if none of the choices match up.

Keep the certificates. CGC won't slab them and more than likely not return them.

Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Be aware of a buyer named D. T. Randall Jr from Tupelo Mississippi. We arranged for two graded books to be shipped to him. As soon as they arrived he opened a Payment Dispute 'outside of Ebay'. USPS shows it as received the same day as the dispute was opened. It arrived in 3 days.

wolfpack0nite15 has filed a payment dispute outside of eBay about an order that was placed on Nov 09, 2021. This means the buyer has disputed a charge directly with their payment provider. They are requesting $105.00 back and the reason for this dispute is that the buyer hasn't received their item yet.

The best part is, Ebay knew he was a problem buyer and cancelled my sale to him AFTER I SHIPPED THE BOX!!! To double the problem, USPS failed in my Interecept Request that was issued less than an hour after the box was delivered to USPS. The only good news is Ebay says the 'dispute meets the Seller Protection Eligibility....'

ebay user ID?..... wolfpack0nite15 comes up with error message on ebay
