I wrote on the slabs and put post it notes on them. Although I still would not put it past them to still miss them as when I originally sent in for the signing I had it written on the window bags and a note on the backer board as well.

Good idea. I circled and wrote with Sparpie on my error slab as well since they have missed things in the past. My last return was turned around fairly quickly. Hope that's the new norm.

Agreed, I've noticed CGC is tough on even the smallest of tears.

Especially with any book 1980 to now

... Unless CGC has established a tear to be a common manufacturing defect, like this Wolverine Limited 1. I sent this back for a review and CGC graders claimed, yes, this is a 9.8. Of course many boards members and I were in disbelief when I originally posted this.

    - IMO, I  believe that most of the books that come back with creases after being pressed by a 3rd party are either due to minor creases or bends missed during pressing or as Joey mentioned in a previous post, the books were not allowed to take shape after pressing and before sending to CGC. In all honesty, perhaps this is the one benefit of having books sitting at CGC for such long periods. If the pressing job was bad, then at least the books would revert back to their original form BEFORE being slabbed.

There's got to other explanations for pressed books coming back with minor creases. Three of the last batch of nine Wolverine Limited, all pressed by Joey so I know that they were done right, have notes with light creasing to cover plus light bends added to one of them. These weren't the most pristine books (bottom of my Wolverine barrel) but six came back in the mid to low 9's and the ones with notes were 8.5 and two 8.0. The only explanations I can come up with are that the creases could only be lessened with a press, but not removed or the books were mishandled by CGC. The bends are another story.

we need a 2021 economy update please

either that or we need the mob with torches emoji back :sumo:

perhaps we really need to mob up and get a consistent noise heard for economy to be addressed. Did they lock the door and forget where the key is for the economy 2021 room? Yes it is 200+ days TAT but it seems every other level book is getting slabbed and TATs reducing and economy is :tumbleweed:

I don't get it... just because a book is pre-1975 it gets no love from CGC. Not to mention that they charge a lot more for this "Economy" service

    Modern

    Received: 1/13/22

    Another 1/13 Modern = Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging
Another 1/13 Modern = Scheduled for Grading

My GEI graded and shipped today. Still waiting on the last 25 Moderns to advance. How long the wait for my two submissions in Economy is anyone's guess ????

  6. This was a reholder from the cancelled Perez signing. Returned for major scratches on slab and bent corner on comic book. Lets hope that I don't have to send it back a second time.

Also, I don't know why I feel like eBay is sketchy to use for auctions, but does anyone know of reputable sites that conduct auctions? I've already been pointed in the direction of ComicLink and Mile High Comics, but any other info would be great.

Thanks for letting me be apart of this community!!

    Check out MYCOMICSHOP.COM

They have auctions and many raw and slabbed books for sale and on consignment.

    Welcome to the boards!

This person sent an offer on a book which I accepted and then messaged me the next day to say he meant to offer $500 less and to cancel the order. Other recent review says it’s a scam.

courgra-9913  .... all lower case, like the morals of this scammer

Got my Options email on Friday (3/11) for my slabbed comic book that was sitting at CCS. Got confirmation email today (Monday) and status moved from CCS to Reholder (Option 4). That all moved along rather quickly. Hopefully will continue in that direction.

Today (3/22) my Reholder moved to Grading/Quality Control

From you pictures I can only see scuffing.

I think a lot of scuffing comes from shipping yes, and the comic can always move in the CGC holder

80% of the time all my modern books are shifted all the way to the right in the CGC holder when I open up the box from CGC.  Since most books dont have over hang they are fine after I nicely bang the holder to center the books there after.  However any overhang is 100% damaged every single time now from CGC I get in the modern tier.

Both of my comic books that arrived with bend corners (different shipments) were square in the holder... did not shift to the angle that you're describing during shipping, so the damage to mine was more than likely done in-house. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Can you post a group picture?  I honestly havent had too much bad luck with scuffing this past year.  Mostly for me its any slight overhang is damaged 100% of the time from moving around during shipping.   At least 15-20 books in 2021 had this kind of damage every time from a little overhang at the bottom right hand corner.

You think this overhang is from shipping? I've always assumed this damage was done during encapsulation. I've sent back two books with this issue and the last had minimal overhang. My last box of 25 had nine with scuffs, not from shipping because they were packed pretty tight.
