  1. A heads up to all, I am going to post tonight but it's going to be later. I'll be posting mostly Men's Adventure magazines. No comic mags will be posted this evening. Just didn't want to keep anyone on the line if they're not interested in that sort of thing. Stay tuned.
  2. It's not posturing. I don't think you're seeing how this whole thread looks. I don't want to do business with anyone that would act this way. To be clear, I'm not saying it's ideal to visit the boards and not respond to pms. But I don't know the whole story behind the seller's circumstances. And as I said before, it was less than a week before the torches and pitchforks came out. You may think that's a reasonable response. I think it's a pretty dramatic overreaction. The foundation of this marketplace is trust and I don't see much of that here. What I saw, was an immediate presumption of guilt. This whole thread is a bad look for the boards. If this is the way things are going here, I'm not sure how much I want to sell or buy here. I'm sorry you don't have any respect for my position. You've always been good to work with and frankly, I was surprised to see your posts here. But that's your position and you have a right to it. If you look for an enemy, you'll find an enemy. I'm not into that but YMMV. I've had more success with trust and patience.
  3. I've done several deals with SA- buying, selling, trading. Always a great guy to work with.
  4. You're all entitled to your opinions on the subject and I appreciate you sharing them. For the record, very few people buying and selling on these boards are "professionals" but as a "professional" in my chosen career, I can tell you that "professionals" do not rush to judgement. They do not assume things on short notice and react strongly as it is far too easy to be wrong and damage one's reputation in doing so. This is a community of collectors that have busy family and work lives and the rules for the marketplace have been set up with that in mind. And as of this moment, the seller has not violated any of the rules of this marketplace. This is not Amazon. This is not Home Depot. This is a group of people offering their books to fellow collectors instead of selling them to dealers or listing them at auction sites. Some of you have maligned the seller in this thread pretty badly and if all of these transactions complete successfully, I believe you owe him an apology. At the very least, you owe him an apology. In the future, please do not claim any books in my sales threads. I'm not interested in doing business with anyone that would act like this under these circumstances.
  5. I think most of the regulars in the magazine forum would prefer more engagement before making business deals. It's a community of people that look out for each other. My recommendation is spend more time establishing yourself in the community before trying to do transactions. Not a judgement on you at all, just a very bad history of low engagement users in the past.
  6. This is an interesting question to me. I completely agree that many of the original 18,000 have to be raw. But I can't help but wonder how many have been slabbed. For those unaware, one of our own board members created a very useful resource many years ago- http://cgcdata.com/cgc/ @valiantman Greg- is there anyway your engine can search by pedigree?
  7. My apologies, guys. I had one of those days where my last meeting was a 5 hour-one hour meeting. Need to eat yet and then probably crash. Only a catastrophic event will stop me from listing more tomorrow. Discount continues to apply until then.
  8. After looking at what I have, I'm going to shift gears a little and list some magazines next. It'll take me a day to get them sorted so I'll resume tomorrow instead of tonight. In the meantime, if anyone sees anything they want, feel free to take 20% off what's already posted. Offer good only until I start back up
  9. That Vampirella 11 is a great deal. Nice grab!
  10. I've been watching this thread and the following stands out to me: This is a lot of freak out with less than a week having gone by since his last contact with buyers. As @skypinkblu has stated, most of this discussion belongs in a different thread. A few board members have already convicted this board member and our working on the penalty phase. If I was the seller and was seeing this, I'd want to cancel all transactions and never sell here again. If this is a situation where the seller turns bad, then there are lots of ways to deal with that. If it turns out they have a death in the family (or similar), there's no good way to take back what some have written here. I think you guys should take a breath and give him a chance to get things sorted.
  11. The art is the reason I'm collecting them. Lord knows, it's not for the writing- it's all pretty campy. Compared to some of the Greenleaf titles, the Brandon House books are positively PG.
  12. And that's all for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow night with more fun. Thanks to all for looking and all who've purchased so far!
