  1. This is all solid advice. The last item is particularly good.
  2. Agreed. I've seen nice looking books in slabs that have the all too common fold on the back cover of Mad mags graded 6.0 and even 6.5. For me, it depends on how strong the crease is. If it's completely flattened and color broken the entire length of the book, it'll get hammered more than if it's present but not that noticeable. If it's a hard crease, probably 5.5. @The Lions Den would have a better sense of an otherwise VF or better book with a crease on the back cover.
  3. 100% this. There are titles that I've read about but can't find a single image of on the internet. Perhaps as more demand builds for paperbacks, more material will shake out. But for the last couple of years, the real problem has just been finding quality material. Which, frankly, makes collecting them more fun for me. I like the challenge and I'm not in a rush to be finished.
  4. Of all the shows currently on my watch list, this is the best and the one I look forward to the most. Which is saying something competing against the final season of Picard and the new season of The Mandalorian, both of which are pretty good so far. Still, The Last of Us is the best written, by far. And that makes all the difference.
  5. Pretty sure @Hamlet has one or two of the original White Mountain certificates. Those were the first pedigree COAs that I ever saw in the early 90s.
  6. This is an exceptionally scarce book. They only ever published 2 issues (this is the second) and the first has a classic "dog threatening woman" cover. I've only seen each for sale one time, many years ago. Thanks for posting this, Flex!
  7. I have a dozen or so. I'm in the middle of a massive inventory on all of my books. I'll scan the ones I have and post them over the next week.
  8. This is a difficult book in any condition. Nice snag, SA! I have one of those last 2 missing Phantoms for you.
  9. Dang, OE! You're really knocking them down on all fronts!
  10. Although I like many of the covers from this run of Real, I think this one is my favorite (Pretty sure this is Shannon Stirnweis art on the cover, but I'm not certain). Nice simple composition with a strong hierarchy between the subjects and a stunning blue background.
  11. That's an excellent assortment of cool items, Dave! @wombat is one of the rockstars on the boards!
  12. Don't see this very often. I've always liked the Kunstler covers!
  13. I would never recommend anyone do this. To the OP- you've got a great book on your hands. Just preserve it in it's present condition and keep it away from anyone wanting to experiment on it. You'll be glad you did in the long run.
  14. Although, only experienced collectors tend to know that. It's a very tough book in higher grades.
  15. And that's it for Round One. There will be a second and third but I want to get these sorted first. Probably another 40-60 paperbacks to go and a significant tranche of magazines and other items. Thanks to all that have bought so far and to the rest for looking. Fun to share these more esoteric items with all of you!
  16. True Police Cases, January 1958, VG. I always liked the cover of this book. Two of the women seem like they've got some hard bark on them. The other one, less so. $25 Sold to Jack Linguini
  17. All Man, December 1959, Good. This copy is pretty rough but it's all there and still attached. This is a ridiculously difficult book in any grade and one I've been searching for a nice copy for 15 years. I paid good money for this and the other copy that I own so I won't be sad if it doesn't sell. Classic Nazi fräulein cover. $90 Sold to Dr. Balls
  18. Man's Adventure, February 1967, Good. Interesting publication detailing the implications of mate-exchange and how that might not always work out. $10 Sold to Jack Linguini
  19. Male, February 1959, VG+. Cool men's adventure magazine featuring the famous tale that we all grew up with- “The Great Lace Panties Escape”. I should probably keep my comments about the interior illustration and story to myself... $20 Sold to Jack Linguini
  20. Battle Cry, October 1961, G/VG. Very tough magazine, even in mid-grades, a classic Nazi torture cover. I don't know why she has to wear those clothes while she whips him, seems extra insensitive. $25 Sold to Jack Linguini
