  1. Vampirella 14, Former CGC 8.5 OW/W (cracked out), one of the toughest early books to nail down in higher grades. This copy is very fresh and pretty with only very minor issues. Awesome Sanjulian cover! $120
  2. Vampirella 12, 9.2, Very pretty copy of a tough book with great page quality. My scanner is a cruel mistress and makes certain covers look much worse than they are. It's much nicer in hand- cover has bright colors and great gloss. This is the beginning of the Spanish Awakening for Warren magazines! Very undervalued issue. $150 Sold via PM
  3. First up, National Lampoon #1, 1970, 7.5, tough book in nice shape for the first issue of the iconic run. This copy is very solid with just a little surface and edge wear as seen in scans. $140 Sold via PM

  5. Beautiful books, Greg. I just wish you'd focus on page quality a little more.
  6. To my mind CGC stating certain books are pressed when they are aware of it implies any book without such a notation can be considered unpressed. It is a slippery slope. And yet, this is exactly their position on trimming.
  7. That's really tough but I'm glad you guys got out in one piece. Things < People.
  8. Like plastic bags that comics came in.
  9. To clarify, the envelope containing the tattoos usually remains. The majority of cases I've seen still have the envelope but with no tattoos inside.
  10. Well aren't you a cheeky fellow today! Time for a rousing rendition of "I see London, I see France..."
  11. I wonder who would commit to that level of research... @The Lions Den, this sounds like your handiwork!
  12. You guys are being too hard on the OP. I think he should follow his instincts and stock up on all the Whitmans of FF 181. Don't let price slow you down, @JohnCarter1912. You're way ahead of the curve and someday in the future, you'll be proved correct. You've found your passion, don't let these get you down. Focus only on FF 181 and don't buy any other books. You got this.
  13. Nice grabs, Bounty!! That Psycho is one of my favorites and pretty tough in grade!
  14. Why does she have to use a whip on him while she's wearing high heels? Also, if they're recording my sex life, can I get a copy?
  15. I've known several collectors that bought multiple copies of both ASM 238 and FF 252 when they came out (including one who had subscriptions from Marvel) that all report bagging right away and then checking a decade or so later and finding no tattoos inside. When I ran a comic book store in the early 90s, we still had back stock on FF252 from the original order and again, many copies without tattoos. To be clear, the envelope was all there, just nothing inside. I remember joking with a coworker that it could have been some prank by jerky adults who were supposed to be putting the tattoos into the envelopes, sticking it to the kids. As @Lazyboy said, there are many copies that never had the tattoos but had the envelope. I never knew anyone that took the tattoos out.
  16. Well this sucks. I'm going to blame this on the exiled leader of a group of genetically enhanced humans and his evil plans.
  17. I'm really curious what the grades are like on those $2k copies. Also, that's a lot of copies of Savage Tales 1!
  18. I enjoyed it even though it was fairly predictable. The portrayal of battlefield tactics is as good as it gets and incredibly convincing. Recommended.
