  1. Earlier in this thread when it started to drop below $5k, you claimed it was an outlier. Now, a single copy sells for $4500 and you proclaim it's out performing the rest of the market. I'm not sure you understand how markets work very well and what is a long term trend vs. a short term blip. As of today, there are over 500 copies in 9.8 on the census and I guarantee there are many hundreds more that aren't certified. This isn't a scarce book even in 9.8. If you want one, copies abound on eBay right now. It's being propped up by dealers and speculators that have piles of it, which I'm guessing you do. If I'm wrong and you don't have multiple copies of this book, feel free to correct me.
  2. This is a stunning piece. Vampirella 15 is one of my favorite early covers.
  3. Pretty sure I have the half sheet to this film someplace.
  4. Another great batch of books! That Nightmare 20 was a smart buy.
  5. I've always liked his work for the economy you described. And that's a very nice piece! Nice pickup, SA!
  6. Send it to me. Glad to be a sounding board if it helps.
  7. That's a great looking copy of a book that's getting pretty tough in high grade. Nice pickup!
  8. I wouldn't worry about the quality of your questions. People will either answer or ignore so, you're good. But using "lolz" around here isn't going to make you any friends. That's the sort of thing that'll make people angry.
  9. I think that's my favorite of your Enric pieces. The color palette is strong and content is appropriately creepy.
  10. I remember when Clink auctioned the Church copy of this. Still wish I'd had the wherewithal to step up and grab it. Your copy looks very close to that with bright colors and luster. Very tough book!
  11. Wow! That's an impressive bunch of books for a lot of reasons. I've always liked that Dracula Lives cover as well. Nice grabs!!
  12. I'm probably the only "elitist" here. But that's only because I'm better than everyone else.
  13. Nobody that knows you would ever call you an "elitist", whatever that means. Your more of an "everyman" or an "average Joe" with nothing to prove to anyone.
  14. Sorry, Stu, I didn't recognize your new profile. Seriously, I get you like to call them as you see them and I usually have some respect for that. But let's not do it in this forum. Leave it for the WC or CG.
  15. I think I can speak for most everyone here when I say fine, just go do it someplace else. The magazine section has been one of the few places on the boards (and the internet) where we could discuss the books we like without the ugly posts, ego stroking, and snarky one-liners. At least it was until the last few months. Your posts border on trolling and I doubt you're new to this forum. This section of the boards has maintained a positive attitude toward other magazine collectors for many, many years and there's no reason it shouldn't stay that way. If you can't get on board with that program, I think you should find somewhere else for your crusade.
  16. I find it best to never argue with a lion. Particularly that one.
  17. Sounds right to me given it's relatively low distribution in higher grades. It's been a tough book in high grade for a while now. I wonder what a 9.8 would go for these days. Possibly $5k or more.
  18. Nice stack of books, sir! Nightmare 18 is one of my favorite covers of the period.
  19. Having tracked both of these for a long time, I think the difference you're seeing is popularity. There is considerably more demand for the Vampirella Special. The Spirit gets very little love despite the incredible quality of the material (both the series issues and the Special). I anticipate this changing in the years to come. Will Eisner is one of the absolute greats.
  20. Yes, that looks like my list (I think you and another board member compiled it and I just copied and pasted it into a document).
  21. I have hundreds of those bad boys. The issues with Pussycat in them are after most of the Nazi torture books which makes them a little easier to find. Still tough though, took me 4 or 5 years and I'm sure I'm still missing a few. Just haven't had a chance to go back through and check things off. As I'm sure you know, there are several of the later issues that are actually reprints of earlier issues.
