  1. This was a shocker. A couple weeks ago, I played the scene from Black Widow when they've just rescued Crimson Dynamo and are flying in the helicopter for my business partner. She's incredibly pragmatic and rarely watches movies of any kind. She really hates sci-fi and fantasy stuff. But I just spoke with her and she watched Black Widow over the weekend with one of her daughters and really enjoyed it. She's now going back and just watched Iron Man and liked that also. It reminds me that there's more to these movies than what we comic book fans find interesting.
  2. Having absolutely nothing to do with value or interior stories, I've always loved the Amazing Stories cover in the top row.
  3. These are great resources for those that don't have them. Even in the age of the internet, I prefer looking through these as it's much faster to look at many covers.
  4. Remember when the debate was over which was the first SA book- Detective 225 or Showcase 4? I still think one of those 2 is the best dividing point as the resurgence of super-heroes that would continue as the dominant genre in comics to the current day. I tend to like GL 76 as the start of the bronze age as it introduced serious themes that were grittier into comics and changed the tone from that point on.
  5. Agreed, the formula is way overused at this point. You and I have discussed this more than once but I don't think it's going to change until they get punished at the box office. Also, glad you're getting caught up on the movies!
  6. FWIW, the Golden Age ending with the beginning of the Silver Age was widely considered to be correct before there was a Bronze Age or a Copper Age. All the way up through to the end of the 80s, there were only GA, SA, and modern books. Since then, some differentiation has been made between Golden Age and Atomic Age. I'm just saying that historically, many collectors and dealers consider Golden Age to include Atomic Age books. I personally would prefer them together because there are many runs of books that traverse both eras.
  7. I've read all of those (look at my avatar). I'm not saying there isn't material produced in the last 20 years worth reading. I'm saying it's a far cry from the work I mentioned before. That's all.
  8. Maybe the Bendis run on Daredevil? I still wouldn't put that up there with those other writers but that's just me. What else would you recommend?
  9. I really dislike the idea of having to sort through a bunch of moderns to find GA, SA, and BA books that I'm interested in. Filters are good.
