  1. FWIW, I think the other big missing in new comics is the basic ability to tell a story well through narrative sequential art. Again there are exceptions to this, but not only is most of the interior art just awful, it's awful at telling a story. I can tolerate bad art if it does a good job telling an interesting story. Heck, I can handle stick figures if the story is well told. But most new comics are just bad art and boring stories that are poorly told. And that's not just age talking. I'm the son of baby boomers. ECs were published 2 decades before I was born. But I still recognize their superior quality and the talent that created them. I grew up reading stories by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Archie Goodwin, Chris Claremont, and other great story tellers in comics. If anyone thinks anything printed in the last 20 years compares to any of that, then you've got a lot of reading to do. Comics can't just be better, they can be a lot better than they currently are. I hope they figure it out. I'd love to read new stories that are well told. But right now, the well is dry.
  2. What's most shocking to me in this photo, is looking at the edges of all the books and how bright and crisp they look. Which is exactly what it was like when I used to open cases of books 30 years ago at the comic shop. But to see ECs, Fights, Pre-Code Horror, etc. like that is pretty thrilling to look at.
  3. You're good, greggy. I just need to quote you cost when shipping. Otherwise, grab what you like and we'll get it sorted.
  4. Unless I think there's a high likelihood (and I mean almost certain) that I'm going to sell the book at some point in the near future, I always crack the books out. And they appreciate it as well! Freed from their solitary crystalline prisons, they look and feel better, I can read them and smell them, and they take up so much less space while weighing a lot less. It's all win, baby!
  5. I've always gotten a kick out of some of those constructed pseudonyms, in this case "F. C. Al Jon" which is pretty straight forward. However, many years later when Craig did work for Jim Warren, it was credited to "Jay Taycee", a representation of his four initials John Thomas Alexis Craig.
  6. FTR, I had no control how that preview picture turned out. But I don't have a problem with it either.
  7. I'm running a sale on some key issues, mostly high grade Warrens and Marvels.
  8. That's it for now but feel free to PM with questions or offers. If you're looking at multiple books, I'm a reasonable man. Thanks for looking!
  9. Eerie 14, 9.0, Glossy fresh book that still retains the bounce to the spine. This copy comes from the “Plus Tax” collection that I purchased a while back. All of the books had that fresh quality about them and many had a stamp on the front cover that said “Plus Tax”. This copy does not have the stamp. $60 Sold to jr70
  10. Eerie 31, 9.2, Another glossy fresh book with white pages. Wonderful colors and gloss on this creepy cover by Richard Corben. $80 Sold to jr70
  11. Eerie 41, 8.0, Possibly the best Sanjulian cover produced for Warren magazines. Very tough in grade, this copy is nice and clean with great colors and gloss. $60 Sold to dover
  12. Vampirella 25, 9.2-9.4, Classic Vampirella on cocaine issue. Another sweet copy with fresh gloss and luster and excellent page quality. $120 Sold to jr70
  13. Vampirella 31, 9.0, For some reason, this classic Frazetta cover is extremely tough in high grade. This copy is nice and glossy with just a few small imperfections keeping it from grading higher. It takes a powerful woman to have a lion, a panther, and a monkey working for you. $100 Sold to dover
  14. Eerie 117, 9.0, A classic Enrich cover that was originally used for the back cover of Vampirella 37, this copy would be an easy 9.6 or better if not for a few color breaking spine stress lines on the back cover. Still an excellent copy that presents like it's pristine. $40 Sold to jrbaxter
  15. Creepy 1968 Yearbook, 9.0-9.2, One of the most difficult Warrens to find in high grade due to its black cover. Best of luck finding a higher grade copy than this. $220 Sold to apocalypse76
  16. Vampirella 26, 9.2-9.4, Super fresh copy of a very tough black panel cover. Early issues of Vampirella in high grade have gotten to be very hard to come by and this issue is no exception. $110 Sold to jr70
  17. Creepy 2, 8.5, Incredibly glossy and fresh with dripping inks on the cover. This book is notoriously difficult in higher grades and this is one of the best copies I've owned. Classic Frazetta cover makes it even more desirable. $110 Sold to Taylor G
