  1. He has not had a sale feedback in over a year. What you are seeing is his buying feedback.
  2. About 3 years ago I was on ebay, and I saw this guy selling two "conan drawings". I took a look and true enough it was Conan and as it happened was also by John Buscema and Ernie Chan. It was framed and a crappy far away photo, BIN like 300 bucks. But when i looked in the corner i saw these little small black lines that appeared to be like a stamp. In fact it looked like a marvel back stamp, so i i figured I would role the dice and hit BIN. The piece came in, an inked conan with some pencil back grounds....and it was marvel stamped right at the bottom. I had no idea but i figured there was a decent chance there was something on the other side.. Turns out my hunch was right. I was not disappointed.
  3. I dont think you can get 99.9% of the population to agree the sky is blue or that water is wet lol.
  4. He probably had my favorite line of the movie. Good stuff.
  5. I’ve sold some of his book covers before, just amazing surreal work.
  6. Very interesting read especially regarding his Dr. Strange art.
  7. I've had a bunch of these pages over the years. The Marvel ones ,depending on character and artist, can often sell for quite a lot. Ive seen many sell in the 4 figure range. It's also not just Romita or PWS ones as I've seen Pollards break 4 figures too. I know of a few Pollards I'd pay well over 1000 for only to be told by their current owners "thanks but no thanks". I used to love these books. It was such a fun way to learn about other books and characters you didn't actively read.
  8. I actively bid on one piece, the New Mutants Cover. I was winning it for the last week or so, and was prepared to go to 6000 for it, I managed to push it to the 5's and as i went to the 6k bid it was already above so didnt stick. Once again, everything I want to buy has people falling out of the sky to go nuts on it. It was offered i think for 7500 at San Diego this year but was not up for negotiation price wise. I have a hard time justifying coming close to a 7k for a mid run New Mutants cover by a mid range artist (a popular one but this isnt exactly Jim Lee material) but its become clear to me if i want late 80s early 90s marvel I have to be willing to fight really hard for it. My consignments went poorly as well, but not horrific just well below what I would have thought based on recent sales.
  9. It was one of those times where I did so well on the sale at first I was thrilled....then it hit me, there is always a reason an item exceeds expectations....the reason being is that it is "exceptional". I'm trying to sell those pieces less and less lol.
  10. You know, the farther away i get in time from that sale, the more I regret selling it. It was just so perfect for what it was.
  11. I have done very well with Heritage to date. Since i consign so much material over a wide range of genres and price points, i find they generally sluice it to the right auction/set. Just have to go in knowing realistic market prices on what your consigning before hand, and then compare to when it comes out. If you have some good and interesting pieces mixed in, it should average out to within 5% plus or minus market (at least in my experience).
  12. I like more general goals not specific ones tied to one specific piece or another. I find the sea is always changing and if i don't want to run around or get swamped I have to be willing to correct course when the need arises. Having said that. 1. Only buy new art with funds generated from old art. 2. Acquire another top ten personal favorite marvel 80s cover. 3. Get a frame-able published frank miller hero page from 80s. 4. Sandman Talking page from original run, more cryptic the better. 5. Covert more star wars props and autographs to comic art.
  13. Yeah, I am lining up a piece. its not under the radar but its first piece in a major auction this year thats in my wheelhouse.
  14. Yeah, i got a lot of offers on the hulk but im holding fast on it price wise, ive never seen another color hulk of this quality by him so im a little tougher on it.
  15. Hey, doing a one week sale of some unshopped pretty fresh bronze and early copper age marvel/dc hero artwork, the stuff you generally are hoping to find when you check out the classifieds for. Drop me a line if you want any of it, I'm inundated with trade offers on this stuff from CAF so to save time, If you want to trade you have to make me an offer of one piece of slightly higher value main stream super hero work. I like New Mutants and Star Wars in particular. P.S. If you WANT TO TRADE, have a specific trade in mind and understand im going to want 1-2 similar quality older hero items if trading. https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=191131
  16. But this generally cuts off the "escape hatches" for many. We had spoke on length (in public and private) about how this addition of sales tax across the entire country would effect sales. It appears it really wasn't a hindrance in anyway, shape, or form. Just another extra bill tacked on the end, to help facilitate the transfer of wealth from you (people generating the wealth) to them (government absorbing it to spend with little oversight and little additional positive effect).
  17. Well, big question time: Do you think prices were adversely impacted by the addition of sales tax? Did hammer prices seem light, normal, or high overall?
  18. Bid on that sketch lot of Buck , but in the end had to pass. Im now 3/7 in this auction. My gregory page 1 issue 1 fell sorta flat, but i was surprised they put that in there and not with the rest of my stuff in sunday. oh well.
  19. Mark Bright Ironman 215 panel page....+2000.00 dollars before sales tax?
  20. 2/6, picked up another graded book for my top ten marvel set.
  21. My two sales from friday went well, looking for the 5 items up today to continue the trend. I am 1/5 on bids so far.
  22. Correct. I bought enough Sal for everybody to have two back when they were 3/$1 I came in at the 5-10 a page range in the 80s. So many bad decisions made in the 90 when i unloaded much of it....sigh...
  23. yeah, but if you cant throw down on the iconic lynchpin piece of the genre, at a meaninglessly small price to a billionaire....what exactly ARE you buying?
