  1. First record I ever bought with my own money. $1.98 for the Rolling Stones Now at Dolly's records. Had to stand in line with my pal Larry. Went over to his house because his parents wern't home and we could play it loud. Did you try to tape back in the stamps in your books? (Had a friend that did that) I rip the pages out.
  2. All i remember is my mom ordered me my first record. Hank williams what you got cooking. Than i ordered origin of marvel comics 1974 from one of the adds. Than the worst decision i ever made. Ordered my Marvel value stamp book. Than i cut all my comics up for the stamp. All my buddys books also and so on so on. Than AC/DC that was still ok. Than ozzy osbourne and judas priest next thing i know its 1995. Than The best part of all was my mom put my comics away and gave them back. Tec 1 and 27 Bat 1 Sup 1 Marvel 1 Action 13 AND the best one of all my Marvel value stamp book. I had binder paper and all my Marvel stickers stuck to them. A lot of 300 boxes with 25 cents sticker on m Spidermans 20 to 100 FFs just my 25 cents box.
  3. I believe that some CPR folks , if they do their due diligence and get grader notes that reveal "pressable" flaws will pay a premium... outside of that, it is just a "myth" from what I have seen (bid on, bought, etc).... sure there are examples of old label selling higher, but there are as many examples of new labels selling more.... it still should go back to the "buy the book, not the label" if you are purchasing as a collector... if you are purchasing as a reseller, then your milage may vary Thanks Rick. Your insight is helpful as always. (thumbs u All teasing aside, Gator is an fountain of knowledge on any scale. (thumbs u
  4. This is why he has that look.
  5. I was just going thru my Action 14 first page Sup looks great. I love the way Sup looks in Actions 16 and under. I love the way Batman looks in Tecs 27 to 37 not saying the art is top but the look they have you know you have a great book? Timely love to get a better copy of Marvel 1. C'Mon Man and MANNUP a copy for me you know who i am talking to?
  6. Never! 1. The Action 1 cover is far more aesthetically pleasing than Tec 27. That will never change. 2. Action 1 started a genre. Superman is the 1st Superhero. That will never change. 3. There is an inherent advantage to the first appearance being in an issue 1 because it is readily apparent that it is first. As someone who is new to the hobby, I can tell you that before I started collecting I had no idea that Batman's first appearance was in Detective 27. 4. Superman is a positive, symbol of hope. Batman is the Dark Knight. Bright optimism always wins over pessimistic brooding. Sounds like you have a copy of Action 1
  7. No problem! The 9.2 would do it easy.

  12. Perhaps If those are the books you have in the pic The Gotham Collection than you need to get the book in any grade. The collection looks great.
  13. Peter you can upgrade anytime buy the book than the upgrade will be cheaper?

  15. There's a piece out back cover. Hence grade how many copys you got left.
  16. From the scans i like the 7.0 better than the grade it got.
  17. a Maryland man bought the 35. Not sure if he is on the boards or not Wow i was wrong 3 times in the last 24 hours, Hate days like this but we all need them to do better.
  18. But that book could have issues not seen. It just really worried me. I know some of the pre hero books popped back up rather quickly and I wonder if that is because people didn't like what they got. I won the 37 with an angry bid, so we will see how it comes I guess. James G +1. If it was in my hand i might have gone more.
  19. Assuming Wayne-Tec read the label barcode right, now we know why YouTube guy was hiding the CGC grade in the first video. It's sad to see any Batman 1 in a PGX case. SAT WHAT!!!!!!! Had this done walk in. Had this unrestored vg/f in early 80s had restored to vf/nm and it only got 8.5 lower right edge trim. They got the trim wrong IMO the guy that did the work told me he never trims books that was in 82 i think.
