  1. I bought a ff #3 in a cgc case from him a while back. There were no problems there, and, in fact, he tossed in one of those silicon cgc case protectors.

Just yesterday I bought two expensive (for me, anyway) GA books from him. He says due to SDCC, they won't ship for a while. I guess I'll be chiming in here if there's a serious problem with them.

He's had a lot of GA books for sale lately and I was tempted by quite a few of them. Like I said, I ended up buying two.

  2. This was my first pedigreed comic, and I had never heard of "curator" when I bought it. I just thought it looked amazing, and I was able to research it (thanks to the cgc #) and saw that the BIN on the book was below where it had sold before, so I snapped it up pretty much as soon as it hit ebay.

I read somewhere that curators do have one distinguishing feature, which is some kind of distinctive distributor ink on the top. On mine, it's in the top left corner.

  3. Captain america comics #3 - the standard cgc text says that there is a 1 page text story by stan lee (which was his first work in comics), but it's actually a 2 page story.

  4. Didn't see this posted here yet... notice, at the 2:08 mark (roughly), wolverine is slicing a dude with his bone claws - yet they make a distinctly metallic noise. Sound guy screwed up?

Guess I should add a spoiler warning, as folks on youtube are complaining this trailer gives away too much, so, spoiler warning!

  5.

If I hold the slab up to the light, I can make out 1 tiny spine bend and a small top edge bend on the front cover. Other than that, it appears to be clean. (shrug)

I had a similar occurrence. According to the grader's notes on mine, it said my book had "whole book crunch." I still don't know what that is.

  6. The purpose was to remove glue from the spines of the 4 center wraps. As to who, I'd rather not say. I don't feel like getting involved in some big public thing. It must just have been some kind of miscommunication.

  7. Thanks! I have had so many problems with this one, like it's cursed or something... from getting lost in the mail for over a week after I bought it, to having a restoration-checker who was only supposed to screen it decide to completely remove the spines of the 4 center wraps without asking... and now I just noticed - there's a fingernail inside the case!!!!!! Right over cap's face!!!!! (Either that or a very thick white hair.) WTF else is going to go wrong with this one?

Edit: Actually, I think it's probably just a hair.
