  1. I got that on some of the searches, but not all.
  2. I have to say it, Carol Kane continues to be the worst casting I've seen in a very long time. The flow, and tone of the shows is completely changed each time she opens her mouth. https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-carol-kane-interview “Okay, so I didn’t audition,” Carol Kane tells Inverse. “I was called. And I was shocked. I was stunned. Never in my life did I imagine myself on Star Trek.” ...that makes two of us Carol. Reading through the article, I get the feeling this another one of those things where they trolling the fan's
  3. Did anyone else get Clink want-list notification emails today, I did. Something is working over there.
  4. Thats not ideal at all. You have to choose over a pedigree, or a newsstand notation. For registry sets, the slot on the set can be removed? A separate Newsstand inclusive, or exclusively neewsstand set would be more attractive than having the registry randomly adding newsstand slots for sets.
  5. OS looks like they're dropping the ball in the last few years. There's been a few other complaints guys have raised around obvious omissions in the latest version.
  6. Golden Age Canadian, thats certainly niche. We do need to split all these categories out for discussion, all of these era's of newsstands have their own points, and degree's of rarity to them. And of course which key books of the same era's the different newsstand variants apply to. I love the modern stuff, silly because even the direct editions are mostly rare too, production numbers are tiny to begin with for some titles.
  7. The registry guys use Overstreet prices to gauge point allocations. It comes out once a year, so you've got one shot a year to get these requests in, and thats assuming Overstreet backs you up, and of course, we're only talking 9.2 values.
  8. I think the different states of newsstand books need to be spelled out for all of us. We have different ages of comics, a similar sort of thing applies to Newsstands. We need an expert to chime in. For me personally, I'm only interested in CPV's 1982-1987, then modern newsstand books, 1988 through to now, with emphasis on the 2010's. Anything before then has mixed significance, that myself, and the market don't understand clearly.
  9. I started another thread, asking that question exactly. Do books need to be resumed, and/or will there be another way for books to be registered as newsstand editions, for registry sets, without going through the big expense of resuming books, for what will be one additional word on the label.
  10. For those wishing to have their labels updated, will there be a process, or special submission category?
  11. With the advent of Newsstand books now being included as a defined categorisation of variant with CGC, there are several issues that come to mind from that will affect collectors, their existing CGC books, and their registry sets. All the existing newsstand books already graded, represents a huge volume of books. What is anticipated as the process for getting books updated, and recorded on the census (and the registry) as Newsstand books? A. The books will need to be sent back to CGC for re-slabbing, and updating of the books details. B. The books can be requested to have their newsstand status updated on the census, with the owner of the book providing a scan of the book, confirming it is a newsstand copy, and a clear image of books certification #. The process of re-submitting books to have their labels updated to include the Newsstand will be costly, and consume a large amount of time. I suspect the the process would easily cover over a decade, if not longer, given the vast number of newsstand books out there. The issue is for collectors who already taken the time, and expense of having their books graded, is there a process by which they can have their books (the certification numbers) registered as a newsstand edition, without going through the process of re-submission, for the inclusion of their books as newsstand copies on registry sets?
  12. I'm trying to remember, Wizard was indeed huge, and went for quite a while, was OS monthly after that? I have a feeling it went for like 12-14 months, and that was it. But Wizard wasn't in the picture as much. OS mag was great for the market reports, and auction results, something Wizard didn't do.
  13. This doesn't seem to be minor glitch. 8 hours and counting at this point.
  14. I'd think they'll push back the clock on all of the remaining auctions. Sunday evening will be Monday night at this point.
  15. Who knows what's going on with the company. They might not been the digital age at all, it's hard to say. But the opportunity to capitalise on the product, and all it's ancillary topics, and aspects is almost unlimited. I loved the monthly magazine they produced for such a short time. I guess it didn't make commercial sense at the time, but in an online format, the equation would be completely different.
  16. They should have launch an online service years ago. They left the door open for GPA and co.
  17. It seems the notion for direct edition, and newsstand issues extends past Marvel, and DC at CGC. Does the idea of having other publishers, and their titles split out this way make sense, or would it be a case by case basis?? The obvious one for newsstand distinction that springs to mind is Spawn. Other publishers, and titles From a registry perspective, Terminator NOW below, having to suddenly be faced with collecting a set twice over isn't asked for, or wanted.
  18. He nailed this report, but the errors, gaps, and a complete lack of understanding of the basic characters, and the storyline, in Secret Invasion are huge.
  19. Thats fighting words right there!! It'll be interesting to see what comes next, after all the ASM #252 hype dies down. Thor #337 has cooled already. Those two and Secrets Wars #8 have dominated the big CPV sales. You've average collector will go looking elsewhere. Constantine is hard to beat.
  20. @ramrod44's pickups the other week might have spurred the market. Amazing books to have in that condition.
  21. Disney is officially a menace to the comic book world, oh and the Lucas legacy.
  22. Speaking with @davidpg, the thread originator and resident expert on all things Canadian. They got the newsstand edition for issue #1. The guys in Marvel management inadvertently broke up the set from a CPV point of view with issue #2 onwards.
