  1. The Fantast book looks tightly graded on the face of it.
  2. I think he should of shared it with the actors, some of their earlier reactions don't fit the current storyline direction. Though arguably I'm knit picking.
  3. Clothing retailers ave been ripping off the big labels for decades. All they need to do, is change the design slightly and they're good to go.
  4. I still don't get it. Why is it their IP? Do they serve as agents for extras or something? Getty's image library is their IP. The actors image, voice is their IP. It's not complicated. The studio's don't any have rights over any of the actors IP in-perpetuity because they hired an extra to work for a few hours on a particular day long ago. They're inviting a class action of substantial remedy against them. The only time where someone's "abilities" have been used in-perpetuity is when people entrain the movements of robots in factories. The strokes of auto-paint robots are human movements for instance.
  5. I think the price was quite ok. A bit of softening built into that result.
  6. Thats true, and smart. But I do see guys working within their budgets, bidding strongly on mid-grade books. It looks like almost a market unto itself, as guys stay within the boundaries, battle it out on books that fall in certain price brackets. It's interesting. There's lot of bands of spending in the comic book market.
  7. Thats perfect for books not moving, or people are not interested in. For anything else, this is a position of disappointment.
  8. You're missing the point. Getty Images have contracts in place protesting their IP. AI does not change the IP of actors. The only thing missing is putting the right contracts in place. Right now the studio's are trying to say the actors don't have IP. The complete opposite is true.
  9. That looks great. But without exception, Disney is stuffing everything up. Seriously, there's no other way to anticipate Disney releases these days.
  10. Ditto, I appreciate DC's work immensely, but it's worth noting there are large number of books not included in his Clink auction result summations. Books that need to be compared to results outside of the Clink. Tracking results across platforms is large job, and even GPA only reflect a certain portion of the market. There are still a lot of books (non keys) that I've seen still consistently performing, and out performing 2021/2022. But we do need to be looking from at least 2019 through to 2023 for some books, to really see what is happening.
  11. Deaths are only a part of the story. Saying the prescribing problem involves a small minority of doctors is factually inaccurate by a considerable magnitude.
  12. I did massively over bid on a book on the recent Clink auction. Final winning bid was 60% of my bid. Good to see no in-house schenanigans going on.
  13. I don't think it's more stark. Stark, is just prices rising. 20+ years of CGC, 100,000's of slabbed books. The train is up and running CGC brought confidence and structure to the market, and that confidence has seen price appreciation. Confidence is the key. And everything is, and always has been stratified, CGC has only enhanced that aspect for funny books.
  14. So you're saying buy at Clink, and sell at ComicConnect? On the face of the different bidding formats this would make good sense, but results do vary between both sites, high and low.
  15. We have the lower graded books falling, even on certain keys failing, while at the same time their 9.X counterparts are excelling. The more modern keys seem to getting hit the hardest. While 'new' SA, BA, CA keys are holding, with only a few exceptions. One of the obvious difference is a movie hype/anticipation based keys, vs long established character based keys. The roar around Silver Surfer books, FF keys, and first series has definitely softened. Early Hulk has softened from heights of late. Census populations are definitely on peoples minds for non keys. You can currently pick up a #1 of this issue for the same money as this #6.
  16. That was impressive to see! There was a number of really impressive results.
  17. I kept my copy from my first collection as well. This book is in a category all of it's own
  18. Ok, I answered my own question if Ray Stevenson does more episodes. IMDB had him credited with only 2 episodes for the series. RIP Ray.
  19. Good buying is still good buying. There were a lot of good books on this last connect auction that went for non-hyperbolic prices. It was refreshing to see. But get them while we can I say.
  20. The old label, and the bottom right corner wasn't stained too badly with the usual yellow tinge, I had to have a shot at it. The last two copies (9.6's) of these books I saw for sale was on Worldwide, both going for $10k each, last year IIRC. So I'm happy with the outcome.
  21. I have to say, it's one of the few sets I've seen where I thought 'why bother, this guys nailed it'
