  1. Velcro. Velcro, the best bit of tech we took from aliens.
  2. A new record for a CPV. But it's essentially a 1 of 1 pop book. No more 9.9's coming out for that series. That grader got put on a leash a long time ago now.
  3. Interesting. Dealer's bidding with an on-sale margin in mind?
  4. My first issue was #2, then a reprint of #1. The book stood out from the get go, the art was outstanding, and this is in the era of Moebius, Ricard Corban, and Dave Stevens. And Mark Verheiden was a rare talent in the comic world, and quickly disappeared into TV/movie work.
  5. From what I saw it was popular at the time, but the release schedule really derailed things. I kinda gave up on the series myself. 14 months is forever as young guy. I think the books survived with good census numbers because it was such a well regarded series, and collectors treated it accordingly. DH collectors were more serious. This is the same time Jim Lee was coming on the scene, Marc Silvestri had already elevated the x-men, so this was the independent collectors go-to publisher for regular titles and books. Secondly, the books were published with good paper stock, no printing issues, and no issues with the books straight off the shelves. I think this has helped the high grade count for the books, while the publishing schedule hurt things overall.
  6. Ok that makes sense. I just sent in another copy of issue 1 and a copy of issue 2 I came across. Both extremely cherry. Keeping my fingers crossed, but I think I have a shot at a 9.8 with atleast one. I’d actually prefer it be issue 2 so I have 9.8‘s of issue 1 and 2. 😁 Each issue came out without warning at all, and not on any kind of schedule at all. This wasn't 6 issues over 6 months. I remember at my LCS, you had to just turn up on the right day, and there was some copies of one of the issues. So the LCS didn't order many either, as all the momentum from each issue was lost with the delays in publishing.
  7. This isn't what I watched, IMDB has this as 55mins, what I saw was 8mins long. The mini doc has some great insight shared from Dave, and George's thoughts on Ashoka that Dave directly worked into her story. Very nice to see. Dave seems to be a true fan of the original theme's of the Star Wars universe. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13622790/
  8. I was actively deep into my LCS when these issues came out, and DH was on the ascent. IO like to think their publisher credentials have well and truly been established, particularly with this franchise, & Predator. They've consistently given us great follow on series, and kept things moving. I recently missed out on Cheval Noir #1 on the last clink auction. No key-ness about the issue at all, but still went for $600. From my stand point, that was a substantial result.
  9. Agreed, on all points. The $3-4k selling point was considered high before the $7500 sale happened. The needle hasn't moved on the 9.6 copies as a result of that sale, which is surprising. They are the easiest route to getting a 9.8 copy. Easiest, but not the surest way.
  10. The $3k sale had 3 bids, $2,500 starting price. Thats a hard start to an auction, even for this book. If in doubt, simply go with HA.
  11. Just watching Marvel Studios: Assembled, series 2 has landed. Episode 1 is Quantumania. It's actually one of longer episodes, and a great look at the making of the movie. On the face of it, it's great, Peyton followed the comics with dedication. The Modoc thing, the VFX guys kinda dropped the ball on the final execution IMHO, plus some over acting by Corey Stoll. But your doing readings with 60 dots on your face as your reference to the rest of the movie, thats a tough gig. The rest of movie conceptually lined up with clean intentions towards the comics, and the MCU exceedingly well.. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27798047/?ref_=ttep_ep1
  12. What, how, where!?!? Thats an epic pickup!! Shame about the crease, it's a staggering copy regardless
  13. I keep watching video's of Cavill, and Warhammer 40k. Is Henry actually in possession of integrity? The sole guy in the current Hollywood machine that can claim to even know the meaning of the word? Youtuber's are the first to dive in on stars vices, but I keep seeing the opposite as they dissect the fortunes of Cavill in the last few years.
  14. I watched the Claude Rains, Lon Chaney 'The Wolf Man' this week, and the comparisons are there to be seen, and wonderfully so. I personally loved the noir release of WWBN, a true tribute to the genre, and the classic era of movies, and movie stars. Watching artists as opposed to celebrities was refreshing.
  15. "Hey family and friends, come have a look at what I sunk 400 large on." I'm conflicted on this one.
  16. A solid slide trend on this book for the grade. Though Golden could be the venue exacerbating that trend.
