Anyone know how often CGC picks up from post office box. Tracking shows it arrived yesterday Wed at 10:15 and was available for pickup and its still there. I checked my last 3 submissions and they were all picked up same day around 4om. Just curious. If its not picked up tommorow by 4 ,. Will give them a call

So it just got to the post office in Sarasota FL. I assume this is where it would get opened or not. Will see when i get the delivered alert . Fingers crossed Then again its way early.was supposed to be there Sat. 3 days for media ? Maybe they opened it or they know CGC is comics or something and changed to regular and there is a Due on it. Guess will find out by tommorow. Again fingers crossed

Yes, you know how we have to pack for shipping. In plastic bags, no tape, in s box then in a larger box . If they checked it yiu know they would open it up go through the comics if they know nothing about them looking for advertising etc. . just gotta keep my fingers crossed .

Meant call the local post office i dropped it off at to ask them to hold it, i will come back i call them all the time. But it was already gone. And yes im shocked she sent it Media after i said i needed $1800 insurance. I got star wars 1,2 42, venom 3 and FF annual 6 among the books.. Still i blame myself, i said books, did not say comic books. I got to figure the 1,800 insurance might be a red flag to inspect.ugg if so gonna be a mess if they do,.they will never put them back packed like i did.box in a box etc. We shall see im going to track every day.

So i dont ship much to cgc , my son does or i usually have my son drop off. But we decided to send 6 books to CGC, mostly hidls. . Insurance fir $1,800. So i go to post office. Im wearing mask cause u have to in us post office. Glasses are fogged and i cant even see. Im blind without glasses. Told her i can't see lol. Told the women ship cheapest method and $1,800 and need tracking. She says whats in it .i say books. She says $35. Take glasses off and use my card an card swiper not being able to read it. But all good. Got my 4 digut code in correct. I go home and leave receipt on ny sons desk . A few hours later he comes to me and says "whats media mail". I was like you got to be kidding me. She shipped it Media Mail. Guess if I could have read the screen I might have seen it. Ugg. I check the tracking and it already left on its way to a sorting facility so too late to go there and change anything and there closed. I know I'm not supposed to ship comic books media mail .100% my bad So anyone accidentally or on purpose ship books to CGC using media mail. So worried now it's going to get opened and they're going to mess up the books etc. Also worried they add postage and CGC rejects it Do I call the Post office and tell them on tuesday , odds are going to be half way there by then I mean what do I do.? Feel so stupid.

I sold my collection of DC and Marvel keys in January. Was books like ASM 300, xmen 94 , UF4, hulk 102, capt 100, 400 keys from 60's to now. Nothing high grade. I valued at 25k and took 12k offer. Got lucky, was first dealer i called. Came to my house. Could have got more selling on my own but had no time. 10 years ago i was seling a collection worth about 2k. All keys. Kept getting offers of $200 to 400. Final got a offer of 750 and took it. Just got to find right buyer

I sent a book in march and finally recieved in April. Economy. Still no movement in sept. I sent them a email saying it shows 120 days for economy , my book been there longer then that and i got a email back saying economy was up to 165 days . Honestly its getting ridiculous. Send a book in march and get back in November at this point . Nothing i can do but not shipping anything for a long time.

I did wind up buying a few of the issues i sold back. Glad i sold 3/4 of my collection but wife got her job back she lost when pandemic started and got my hours back and even got a raise so spent last few weeks buying back about 30 books i regretted. Ofcourse i had to pay current prices but still not bad. Happier what I did selling bulk of it, got collection into a reasonable level and I can enjoy it a little more now.

Im using Sure underwritten by Markel. Will give them a call this week. Paying $150 for up to 65k. Maybe add 20k.

Not the typical comic book post about getting insurance. I sold more then half my collection but i have the books i have left insured. Kept a few like TOS 39 , GSxmen1 etc. But with how prices are insane the value of whar i have has More then doubled. Im using Fake numbers here for my example but say was insures for 65k and books now worth $125k on paper. Anyone having that issue and upping there insurance ? . Im debating it not sure prices will stay this high but if they do and something happens , will never be able to replace whar i have. Curious others opinion?

Question, how long does it take for CGC to recieve the books? I shipped books to CGC to be graded. Tracking says they were delivered 2 weeks ago but CGC website has nothing after 2 weeks. How do i know it even got there? Not complaining , just asking , new to this , what's the time for submissions that you receive to be logged in. 2 weeks seems excessive since it could have delivered to wrong spot and i would have no clue but mabye thats normal.also paid for fasttrack. Didnt think it would take longer to get recieved in then the fast track grading time, Thanks

I have to add that i just saw the buyer of my comics put up a bunch of my books i sold his store for sale on Ebay. That was a little weird and sad . As i said , I honestly am thrilled i sold them. Glad there gone , and I did a lot of good and pay a lot of bills over that money, but seeing them for sale , i actually thought about it. Stuff i purchased and had for 35 years. I guess it's the same as when I sold my first house. I was thrilled and glad I made the money I made. $35k profit but every time I drove by the house I thought about it. Would hit me. I used to live there my kid was born there etc. Same thing I guess , i remember the store i purchased that book at or I remember the great deal I got on this book . Again t I'm still very glad I've gotten rid of most of it. But that was a wierd feeling. I actually almost wanted to buy one or two back lol.

I already paid and the books should be there. And i already paid , so your telling me your shipping my 10k in books back to me with no insurance or do you plan on calling me and letting me know how to pay for the insurance. Or change it to registerd mail. I selected UPS but if it was obvious i would have selected registered mail.

Submitted a few books. One was a $6k book, sent walkthrough but the return postage UPS is $15 . Cost me over $100 to ship to CGC with insurance. I did not see any option when selecting return shipping to add insurance. Submitted a 2nd set of books $1k insurance $45 and the return shipping is again $15? Do they not send back insurance or is that in the cost of the total grading fees or do i get chsrged thst later, so confused with how it is returned with insurance ?

I have book that in grade is estimated to be 9K ish . How do i submit to CGC. I see 3k max on most submission but unlimited value is WalkThrough. This may be a dumb question , but does that mean i cant submit in the mail and needs to be submitted in person or at a show ? Also is there a total value in the box i can send, that you cant go over say i have 5 books totalling $14k etc. . Too much to send in one shipment to CGC ?

I know if you send in a coverless comic with a repo cover on it they will not grade the cover because its floating , not attached . But i have a ASM 1 coverless . Want to get it graded more to get it encapsulsted and verify its legit. Know it will get a NG , But my copy there is no staples just all the pages , staples were removed. Will CGC grade it and encapsulate it if its just the pages no staples. ?

Yup, wife lost job, son lost job and i had my hours cut. Wife got new job but half pay , , I got my hours back recently, so I would be lying if I didn't say money was not a factor.

I started collecting as a love of the characters and storys, over time yes, seems it became about the money. Still got about 10 books i cherish (ASM 300, Nova 1 etc) , never sell them.

No slabs but all keys or first app and hot books. Hulk 102, silver surfer 1 & 4.clone wars 1, batman beyond 1, ASM 100, 101 , invincible 1, xmen 94, 101 ,comico primer 2, , caliber presents 1, ultimate fallout 4, spiderverse 2, HOS 92 etc. Guide about 25k. Got about 45 % of guide. Was happy with the price. He got a steal, if i wanted to take the time to list, ship etc could have doubled my profit But with work 10 hours a day and family etc im happy with the deal. Just dont have the time. Just wanted the worry about all these expensive books gone. I thought i would miss them since i had sone of them for 25 years but weird , i don't.
