  1. Yes. The glue reattaching the cover. There is also tape but that is not considered resto. This can be undone and get blue right. 1.0 blue would outsell 2.5 purple. if c1, it probably has enough glue that to remove, would remove paper too...but likely would still end up 1.0... Why obliterate the spine just to get a label colour change ? -J.
  2. The 7.5 that sold for $50k last August had "ow" on the label so that didn't make any difference. Just the typical ebb and flow of the market I'd say. -J.
  3. Probably more bootleg covers of popular JSC books. Guadians of the galaxy 4? ASM 688? What's funny is that people would pay $100+ for these Actually, the funnier part is people paying thousands for the original. dummies -J.
  4. That book was probably consigned way before Metro's announcement. -J.
  5. $46k below the half a mill I predicted.... But still a big number for a Silver Age book. -J. Met you have way Jay. Said 425 Advantage Peter, technically. -J.

  7. Here's a new raw copy VF/VF-ish: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-688-J-Scott-Campbell-Variant-Lizard-Cover-/322010998285?hash=item4af959e60d:g:8jcAAOSwuAVWxAgY Jerome *poof* -J.
  8. Not me. Anyway, there was a raw siege 3 that sold on feebay for $2100 this morning. Was hoping to add this book to my collection, but not looking good. That's actually a very strong price considering that's just about what the last slabbed 9.8 just went for a few weeks ago. I wonder if we're going to hear the same moronic howls of protest from the peanut gallery the last time another certain raw variant went for $2k+ six months ago.... -J.
  9. $375 for the PGX 9.2 ASM 688 Campbell and $405 for the raw cop today: http://item.ebay.co.uk/252266664793?item_hash4=965cd698&LH_Complete=1&LH_BIN=1&LH_BO=1&_ipg=200&_pgn=1&rc=nt&rmvSB=true http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-688-CAMPBELL-1-50-LIZARD-VARIANT-RARE-/301869698101?hash=item4648d60c35:g:yOYAAOSwezVWu3O~ -J.
  10. I hope this book takes off. It's a great read. But I did buy about 15 copies of this and have my one graded 9.8 Yeah I have a few which has peaked my interest.....saw one sold today via bin for $100 *piqued -J.
  11. True that. Another Avengers Assemble #10 Dell'otto just sold today for $50. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161973681732?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT -J.
  12. They're 4 years old. -J. I thought these were the ones that came out recently. Thanks -J.
  13. Speaking of pump and dump, no sales for two weeks then three on the same day? Hence why it has been posted in the "moderns heating up" thread. -J. Hence "pump & dump". You do know I've never sold a comic in my life, right ? And what "pump and dump" actually means ? -J.

  15. This one seem to be gaining steam. Great cover too. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=avengers+assemble+10+dell%27otto&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_mPrRngCbx=1&_udlo=10&_udhi=1000000000&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=91604&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=200&LH_Complete=1 A 1:50 on a super low 34,000 print run, plus a Dell'otto cover and a DeConnick story = -J,
  16. Why is this book "worth" so much? Just because people like the cover? It makes no sense for a variant cover with manufactured rarity to be worth more than the character's first appearance. My , but what do I know? Manufactured rarity or not, there are some modern variant hunters out there that would rather have this variant than x23s first appearance . Looks like "somebody" pulled the trigger on the Voldermort 9.8 copy. -J.
  17. Why is this book "worth" so much? Just because people like the cover? It makes no sense for a variant cover with manufactured rarity to be worth more than the character's first appearance. My , but what do I know? It happens. A lot. But rare variant hunting is a different market than first appearance collecting. The ASM 678 VenoMJ goes for more than the first appearance of either character. The Wolverine/Deadpool cover goes for more than the first appearance of Deadpool, and even a Hulk 181 in every grade except 9.2 and up. The UXM 510 sketch goes for waaaaay more than the first appearance of Psylocke, and evidently even an X-Men #1 in low grades. You get the idea. In this case, X 23 is a relatively new creation and there are literally thousands of 9.8 slabs and 9.8 candidates of Nyx 3 out there in circulation, and let's face it, that X-23 Dell'Otto is probably the best depiction/cover of her that has ever been done to date and it has the additional benefit of being a "#1". -J. I'm pretty sure Dell'Otto is an Italian guy, don't let the name fool you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabriele_Dell%27Otto Or if that's a chick, I'll just hand over my man card cause I can't grow a beard like that Jerome I love how they use the cover art of the X 23 #1 as a sample of his work on there. -J.

Kinda like Valiant books in the 90s Except there's not a hundred trillion copies floating around. That's kind of the point. -J.
