But 8.0's aren't exactly falling out of the trees and a CR/OW book can easily come back an OW book or better on a resub if it really bothered someone that much. Me personally, I give PQ the least amount of weight on a label, so long as the pages aren't brittle or noticeably Tan on the edges. -J.

That's a nice looking book, with hard to find OW/W page quality to boot! You don't often see those on that. And agreed about Joey, he took care of me on my BB28 as well. Guess a lot of us <3 Joey on here . -J.

A quick read of the current listings on ebay would have that percentage at about 25% black labels, at listing and auction prices comparable to the white labels. Some of those sellers aren't even mentioning label colour either way. There are 12 black label walking dead #1s for sale on eBay right now. As Maloney said and bffnut's data seems to suggest, they are less common than the white labels, but are by no means rare or scarce, or hard to come by in pretty much any grade at any given time. Thus no price difference. Geesh I have too much time on my hands . -J.

This whole discussion reminds me of that old Star Trek (TOS) episode where the last two guys of a race were fighting each other to the death....each with half their face white and the other half black, both with the white and black sides on opposite sides from ach other. The moral of that story seems equally appropriate here . Classic stuff! Don't worry Mark, you will have no trouble selling your white label for any more or less than you would if it were black. -J.

That's a great looking WD#1 bffnut. Can't see why it's not a 9.8 to be honest. Sharp corners, no perceptible spine ticks, the whole she-bang. Thanks for elaborating on the sig thing as well. As you can see from my one attempt at adding just one image, it just does not seem to be working out for me unfortunately. It still only shows up as text dad gummit! Shame they make it so cumbersome to add an image on this site. I'm sure there are loads of people with great books that they'd love to post but just can't figure out how. -J. **Edit** I actually figured out how to add pics to the sig the url I was copying and pasting was corrupted. Now I would be super grateful for any suggestions on how to make the pics small like a thumbnail, so I can row them up side by side like the other guys on here have done, so that one pic in my sig doesn't take up a whole page ? actually making this sig line has become a minor mission for the day.

Thanks for the quick primer on the signatures Maloney. I'm definitely not the most tech savvy guy though. I've created a photobucket account and saved scans of the books I would like to put in my sig line on it. However when I try to copy and paste them to the sig line it just comes out as the text url when I "preview" it. Can anyone offer a bit of advice on what I'm doing wrong here? Oh, and so as to not completely hijack this thread with my newbie-ness... WALKING DEAD BLACK LABELS ROCK! -J.

Hi All! Newbie to the boards here (though a long time collector). Had to throw in with slym on this topic though: With much love to the amateur statisticians on the board, I'm sorry guys, but there is nothing "rare" about black label Walking Dead #1's. The mere fact that you can find 7-10 of those available for sale online, on just one site alone (ebay) at any given time bears this out. As of writing this, there are nine available for sale on ebay, each seller calling it "rare" on their listing, which, frankly, just looks a little silly. It really doesn't even matter what the actual proportions are of white-to-black, there are more than enough of either floating around at any given time that they are both readily available, and thus no price difference is warranted. I do believe that there was a brief blip in time recently when, yes, black labels did seem to get a slightly higher auction price. But people no longer seem to be drinking the "black is rarer" Kool-Aid as tons of the black labels have flooded to market, or sellers are at least now making it a point to point them out in their listings, that slight price difference seems to have evaporated since the summer, and whites and blacks have both settled into the same price range when they are up for auction. And the sellers who are offering theirs at exorbitant "buy it now" prices are disappointed as their books are sitting there with no takers, regardless of the label color. I think slym is also right to take Kirkman at his word when he (Kirkman) made his statement on this issue. The man just has no reason to joke around about such an innocuous issue, and he certainly is more in the know than any of us. I think in the end, we can all agree that it's a great book to own as a collector and a reader, and those of us who have one of either label color (or both!) should feel proud to have such a great book that has so quickly become an integral part of modern pop culture. On another note.....can anyone tell me or refer me to a link that explains how to set up a signature line? I have searched and not been able to find any instructions on how to do that.
