Silver age comics that are heating up
white_rushin replied to rabidwolf's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Undervalued great book Always liked it I think it's a mini key Not sure it's undervalued anymore when fines are going for around $100 Can you find one easily at that price ? I saw one sell in Dale's thread almost instantaneously. Ebay sellers are trying to get even more than that. I do it's a great key and in the wild I do believe it can be found cheaply at times. -

Everything from Kirby's Fourth World except for JO134 seems overlooked at this point. Sadly the only thing that could propel them is an announcement for Darkseid. After that I'd imagine anything Fourth world related would skyrocket. New Gods' #1 forgotten gem to me is 1st Apokolips. A few days ago I found a NM Mister Miracle #2 for under $10. That just seems wrong Although not BA, I think some good money could be made off of 1st Enchantress, Surtur, Kang, and Baron Zemo. Still shocked none of them have showed up.

Flash #117. 6 months ago a friend of mine bought a CGC'd 6.0 for I believe $60. Not too long ago a CGC'd 4.5 went for over $270. Flash #139, Aquaman #29/35, and ST #111/126 are all going up big time as well. -

Last night I stumbled upon someone selling some SA comics on Craigslist. Most were nice filler issues but this one stood out. Contacted the seller immediately this morning and met up. It's certainly not high grade, but with no rips, tears, or restoration I'm a happy camper at $40. Never thought I'd own this book!! -

Someone's going to be disappointed if they're expecting to recieve a Very Fine copy. Is that what you call interior foxing? What is that? I noticed that as well. Funny thing is that there was a BIN for $165 +shipping. -

Been on the hunt for this for quite some time now. Why so overlooked nowadays? I figure Detective #225 is out of my reach, so this is the next best thing. -

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...

Whats a "normal" price range this book? I think the last time a 9.8 CGC sold for around $350 and that was last year. I know the Huntress first appearance came out in All-Star Comics #69, but DC-Super Stars #18 is her origin story that supposely came out on the same day with ASC #69. It will be nice know if someone can confirm this with real data. It's been confirmed numerous times on here with rock solid evidence. It's absolutely true. Obviously that cover is much more appealing than the one page, floating head appearance in All-Star, but still.......................WOW! Can anyone expand upon the 1st appearance of the Huntress or navigate me to where the discussion took place? If both comics came out on the same day, how can ASC claim the 1st appearance if they are concurrent? I feel like DC-SS would be the winning book because of a much more in-depth look at the character and the origin. -
Mostly because there isn't a lot of attention drawn to the books for the exact reason you mentioned. Ghost Rider and Green Lantern were also adapted horribly too. They're still legitimate keys and even "grails" to certain collectors out there. In that sense I don't see the books going down. I actually feel now is the time to grab pick them up while the focus is on ridiculousness like Squirrel Girl, Quake, Enchantress, Variants, etc.. TOD10 and MS5 can both be had for under $100 in mid grade. That seems pretty crazy to me.

The Official Thread "The Flash" TV Show SPOILER-FILLED

8 pm needs to come quicker -
I was looking on the bay at the sold listings and there was such fluctuations it was hard to get a solid estimate. Thanks for that. Interested to see where the book is headed. I would agree there was very little demand for the character previously, the only reason I somewhat had an interest was because of his scarce appearances on JLU. Saw a shop that had a VG copy and they wanted $125 for it . I'm gonna guess someone will snatch that up within the next couple of weeks.

What were raw VG copies of Flash #117 going for before the movie hype/news hit? I was interested in hearing from people who had more knowledge on the silver age run. I just saw a 1.8 copy end in auction at $45 .

SPOILER-FILLED thread about Agents Of SHIELD
white_rushin replied to slym2none's topic in The Movie Forum
Wow, I'm surprised to see such negative opinions about the show as of late! I don't mind them, but I thought season 2 started off slow until the last 3-4 episodes which have had me and my family hooked. It's nice to see the build up they're creating with the underground city. I was also really tired of Ward being stuck in his cell. The only thing that's missing from this to be a must-watch show is an actual superhero or something fans can attach themselves to on a weekly basis. Maybe we will feel that way about Morse, but as of now she's nothing more than a regular shield agent compared to her in the comic as Mockingbird. Marvel needs to man up and stop being so delicate with their universe. Give the fans some B/C-list heroes and villains. Absorbing man was a good start. Deathlok was butchered though. No matter how good the quality of this show can be, I'll resent it a bit until Marvel stops being so stingy with their characters. -

Ah thank you so much guys. That 1st volume must be based off of the first episode or two I remember watching as a kid. Don't they end up putting Bebop and Rocksteady in a cage in the zoo? -

Thanks for clearing that up. I was going through issue #1 and both Bebop and Rocksteady appear as mutants in #1 as well for multiple panels. Do they really? I guess my memory is a bit fuzzy. Would you mind taking a pic of the panels and sharing it as I do not have my copy anymore Sure thing. sorry for the horrible photos but I took them using my laptop .. Their first panel: Then many more the page after: -

Agreed, and of course while Tec 474 is getting all that love right now, the surrounding issues of that Marshall Rogers run is full of classic story lines and first appearances. Hugo Strange, Preston Payne, Dr. Phosphorus, and the Joker-fish books are such awesome books. Particularly those Joker-fish issues to me seem to be brushed to the side for the time being since 1st apps are sought after so much more.
