The best Sci-fi Sequel in the last 20 years has been Blade Runner 2049.
That type of quality is what Star Wars should be delivering, but that's just not the case.
The person that spewed this slop just don't care! Star Wars has a lot of great mileage left in it just look at Mando!

In the Mandalorian he's using his real voice; it was in Game of Thrones where he was altering it to have a Spanish accent.
See there you go, great actors know how to fool you.

I'm on of those weirdos that can spot an actor miles away even under heavy makeup.
I knew this was the old shaw shank Captain as soon as I heard his voice. However I was shocked when I found out Pedro Pascal was the main actor...
If that is his voice is really is awesome to be able to change his voice like that.
I would have never guessed the Red Viper and the this actor that sounds like a Clint Eastwood
cool vocal style were the same. Just Brilliant! -

I feel sad when I think about what Disney has done to Star Wars, I cant believe what a poorly written mishmash of garbage the series has become...having said that of course I’m gonna honor the past and throw at least dollar theater or rental money at this. I have to see, in some format, how Disney finally puts the dagger into the old bird.
From Star Wars to Star Ears going forward.
This thing that kills me is this corporate greed plain and simple. I call it corporate because they're only concerned about the quick dollars.
If they cared about the later money they wouldn't do this cash grab wham bam thank you maam approach. Because NO ONE is going to care about this slop 10 years form now.
The original SW series isn't "lighting in a bottle" it's someone that cared about the craft of movie making.
I believe THAT'S why it has been a staple of pop culture for so long.
The original Trilogy is so fresh it could be released today and crush anything out there - even with the rubber masks on much of the aliens.
I see this as a guide of many years to come on what NOT to do with a franchise. This reminds me of what hollywood did to original planet of the apes. The first movie was a 10 out of 10 classic with a twilight zone twist ending.
The others movies that followed in the 70's were nothing but a cash grab. And then there was the marky mark 2000 turdfest and finally the people at hollywood got it...
and made a series of ape movies that were re-watchable with Rise, Dawn and War.Oh well, I guess I can wait until someone cares again...

The only thing I see in this is Disney trying to get people to buy tickets by using the original trilogy as a shaming gimmick.
Almost like "everyone loves Star Wars, you owe it to Star Wars to come support this"...

You won't be the only, I have the exact same feelings about this movie as you.
It grieves me to say this too. For many years I had dreams of getting the trio back together for another trilogy that would rock the world since the effects have improved so much since 1983.
That and the fact that the best movie IMHO was ESB (the only film that Lucas didn't direct) so when Lucas sold the rights - I was like HELL YEAH, Lets Do This! The prequels were sub par except for the last one and I was ready for SW to take the world by storm! It took the storm alright - creating one of the most disappointing sci-fi movies ever!
Sadly the Mandalorian TV series is better than any SW movie in the last decade.- Number 6, RedRaven, Catwomancomics and 1 other

I sold my gd copy of the first groot here on the boards for a whopping $70 or so right when it was mentioned he would be in guardians
If you don't have a ton of stories like this then you're not really a seller.
The only way to justify the losses is think of the wins...
For example I flipped a ST 110 in 7.0 for 2k right before it hit to gain capital for another key
and during the years that followed that book soared to 4.5k. It burned but only temporary
since the money I gained I bought a beautiful ASM 1 in 7.0 that is now blown up.So it's all in how you look at it.

I may be the only one, but I really don't think I'm going to see this...
The last jedi was so bad and had so many plot holes and continuity crashes that I saw it once and was done.
Seriously I never do that. Even the prequels had some rewatchability factor to them:
Episode I : the pod race and maul saber fight
Episode II : The Jango Kenobi fight and the Dooku Fights
Episode III : The best of the Prequels a solid movie through and throughEpisode VII : Wasn't bad but is semi tainted on how bad VIII was
Episode VIII : The worst movie in the SW franchise, just a complete mess from start to finish.I guess I'm a crotchety Gen x'er that thought the original trilogy was more than enough.
