  1. Now that it's sold, it's time to drop shade #2...

Every time I see that Power 3, I find it so amusing that Cole would put something on it so out of place.

That ultra racist asian depiction I know is part of the times where they demonized them because of the war, but it is so nuts how the non-modeled style of it looks just stuck on. The fact that it's so cartoony in style when compared to the others is only magnified when the figures front teeth looks like it was replaced by popsicle sticks. The ginormous bow tie is just the icing on the cake. The most fascinating aspect of this is that even with this odd campy placement the composition is STILL in balance. It's almost like someone bet him that he couldn't do it and he won.

@Wally's Comics sorry to hear about your lay off.  Hope things turn around quickly for you.

Thanks guys. Luckily I plan ahead, so considering that I'm in pretty good shape. It's just another set back - and when you get as old as I am you realize life is full of setbacks.
Just planning the best you can helps for the softest landing.

Hard to argue with the rest, but 6/ is the upholstery on the car seat.

Thanks for clarifying that. After thinking about it - I thought that the girl could be possibly laying down with the rest of her torso in the back, but since the seat definitely isn't reclined I go back to the notion that she is basically wearing her glutes as a hat!

    Gee but the snowflakes . . .

(but seriously, are you questioning the accuracy of a comic book cover? Let’s not rip open that lid. Ain’t none of us gonna like what we find down in there)

I'm with you. It's just funny how many GA classics that are out there that have bizarre structural errors all throughout them (cough, cough, Blue Beetle 54)...

If this was my first look at LB, I would say this is no body but a tracing hack. When you have a beautiful drawing that has no structure it screams that.

But then again, My fav cover series of all time is Mask 1 and 2. If they were some how hacked, I really don't want to know...

Bottom line is, almost like their are critics of cubism, even with all this the cover still works and most don't even see it unless it's brought to their attention.

Now that this is sold, It's time to drop artistic shade...

I love LB Cole, he's one of my favs, but damn just how many errors in perspective can you have on a cover???
    Let's count them...

1/ That car is only 2.5 ft wide
2/ The steering wheel is flat as a flounder with no dimension
3/ How is she positioned like that in a 2.5 ft wide car? Damn, the girl's buttcheeks must be touching the back of her head
4/ The drivers car door has no dimension and is flat
5/ Is the car driven straight into a tree to get a close up of tree limbs like that? That might explain the poor girls broken back...
6/ What the heck is that on the left of the composition in the passengers window? It looks like cartoon sonic lines?

This is a classic and I love it (for all the wrong reasons), but folks it's a train wreck! lol!
