He still signs for free, minus key books, correct?
No he charges at least $20 for X-Titles and $10 for non (So his image stuff for example would be a $10 sig.)
Hmm, thought he was free a year ago except for NM 98. Maybe I was mistaken.
Correct. You are mistaken.
Hmm, didn't know you were at the same con. as me last year. Why didn't you say hi?

Is the Spider-Gwen vol 2 #1 exclusive starting to heat up a bit? I had a copy go right away for my BIN and it looks like others are hitting $40 now instead of the $25 - $30 they had previously been selling for.
It looks like its gaining a little heat; I'm seeing consistently $45 lately
Which cover is that? There are so many different Spider-Gwen variants that you would have to know exactly what you were looking for.

What will be the La Mole exclusives this year?
Probably more bootleg covers of popular JSC books.
Guadians of the galaxy 4?
ASM 688?
What's funny is that people would pay $100+ for these
Actually, the funnier part is people paying thousands for the original.

Seems like the new Daredevil teasers have brought the Punisher limited series back into light. Heck, even the #1 of the first ongoing series is selling.

If only there was a Deadpool prototype which preceded Deadpool, you know kinda like Foom #2 for Hulk...
...Wait....
I have done more research that you can possibly fathom on this. There is no Deadpool appearance prior to NM 98.
"prototype" is the key word.
I have also found no "prototype" in any Marvel or other industry publication!
Really, not other industry publication?

When did Liefeld change his signature?
I like it a lot more compared to his previous scribble. Just odd to change it that much.
The "new" one must have been a special request.
Yes, could very well be. Here is one signed a day later, which I think was at NYCC and it has the cursive scribble.
The "scribble" is definitely his regular sig. This is the 1st time I've seen anything else and I just saw him in Phoenix. It wouldn't surprise me if the new sig is actually a remark and has the associated cost.

ygogolak is correct. There have been a ton of sells for raw NM #86's lately.
* Most are double digits as well.
NM #86 does not count as a Cable appearance. It's an ad.I can see UXM #201, but it has never latched on with collectors.
You're welcome to your opinion of what "counts" and what doesn't, but that doesn't seem to have a relation to actual sales.
It counts enough to settle down somewhere in the $8-$25 range I guess. I'm hoping for $25....
now let's go make a buck!

can you provide a link to which diamond mailer you are talking about? if i can pay $3.00 to ship with a 50 cent mailer it would be worth it over $3.50 and free/homemade mailing supplies.
Wait, you're spending $3.50 just on supplies? I thought that included the shipping cost?
no, i'm not spending anything on supplies, but i hack up boxes, which can be a PITA, but postage runs about $3.40-$3.50.
if a mailer is sturdy enough and results in $3.00 postage then my shipping/handling cost would still be $3.50 and less labor.
Right, if you're like Nate, you like the piece of mind of extra cardboard and such. You're not going to get lower than $3.35 probably. I use free cardboard and a manila envelope which probably cost $0.10, plus tape. I really don't even think about that as it is the cost of doing business.

...Wait....
If there was he would definitely need a multi-colored mask and use swords.

I'm not saying you're wrong (because I don't think you are), but wouldn't you have to provide comparative data to say a spike has a occurred?
That data is there for everyone's perusal and interpretation, but I will bite.
From Feb. 3 - 9, the week prior, there were 11 sales that included NM 86. One which included NM Annual #2, which is somewhat hot and one which was in a ROM lot. For whatever logic that equates to.

Are you saying NM #86 is spiking?
One CGC sale in the past three months on EBay, and it was a 9.4.
Four 9.8 sales of UXM #201 in the past three months, and the avg price is $73.00.
Not everyone buys graded books, heck, most don't.
The rumor of Cable came out Feb. 10, since then 43 copies, raw & graded have sold on eBay. I would say that is a "spike", No matter price, it's a volume spike.
Also, where are you getting your data? There are 6 CGC sales in that time frame I provided.
P.S., there is one before NMM 86 that ain't doing too shabby either.
Where you agree with it as an "appearance" is inconsequential to the conversation.
I think the masses look at NM 87 as Cables first appearance.Absolutely agree 100%, shoot 101%.

OK, I see, somewhere around 5,700 copies a month
I don't know how publishers stay in business.
Just because they don't sell Marvel and DC numbers doesn't mean they don't make a profit. Heck, they may have better margins than the Big 2.
It costs money to put together a professional comic book. Plus they need to print it, ship it, deal with damaged copies, etc. I guess the Pinnis do a lot of the work themselves and don't have to rely on this to eat, so Darkhorse isn't paying them a salary or per page?, so yes, if Diamond gets $2 an issue from the shop, pays Darkhorse what, $1.50...
Slim if anything at all. My vague recollection from the Skullkickers guy's interview is at this level (and Skullkickers might have been more like 3000-3500 copies at that point) is that he only made money once the stuff was collected in trades and the floppies were more a labor of love.
There are a lot of things that go into profit, it's called overhead. Until you know those breakdowns from everyone, you can't tell if they are making a profit or not.

How do you ship a properly protected comic for $2.60? I am at $3.40-$3.50 even after discounts.
2 plys of cardboard in an envelope
I can just feel the bending the post man will do to it.
If it's under $50, I use 2 pieces in a manila envelope, First Class. I believe I've had two complaints and from the pictures it was obvious the mailman bent it.

There isn't anything wrong using Amazon as a seller. As was stated, they have a huge glitch in that you can't combine shipping, so as a buyer I typically steer clear. That and the over-inflated prices.

New Mutants 88 raw seem to be going pretty cheap right now.
If ran NM+ X-Force 2 can get $15, figure 88 is going to get $10 all day, they seem to be selling for half that. I would think 88 is less common than XForce 2 but what do I know.
Now many CGC 9.8's out there right now for under $80.
Ed
What's the significance?
NM88 - 2nd cable
Xforce 2 - 2nd Deadpool
I think that's the comparison (2nd apps).
That's what I was thinking, but really NM 87 is Cable's 3rd appearance, first full and cover.
NM 98 is the unequivocal 1st appearance of Deadpool. You could say the card in X-Force #1 is his 2nd, but the accepted second is X-Force #2.

True Believers Deadpool 1 $1.00 Marvel 46,636
Boy Id really like to know how many they printed. This was one of the quickest flips for me this year. Made 3 time my investment within days and held to 10 copies, and now they are slowly moving for 10 a pop for me.
If this is TRULY how many they printed, Im wiling to bet that this will be a 20$ book by next year
At $2+ profit, it may be time to start looking for that retirement home.
$20 seems a bit high. But it could be. Alias and Cable & Deadpool MGC's go for $15.
I see them selling for $2-3, where's the flip profit here unless you are charging $8 for shipping?
I can't imagine that was all they sold with a $1 cover though, unless shops don't want to bother wasting the shelf space for a 50 cent profit.
I know that its more cool and sexy to move a 30 dollar book at 90. But that doesnt happen every day. NM98 true believers is as sure a 3x profit book as that 30 book with tenth the wait time
Yea, but you are talking about packaging 30 books a day to make $60 compared to one book. How much time is that right there?
