  1. Yeah, hard telling over time which will be the more desired. Man of Steel #18 used to the THE book to get, but now look at Man of Steel #17 sales, and that's just a cameo.. This is a hobby, not a science, although if a science, I'd at least get a passing grade. Looks like the market has decided it's Doomsday's first appearance. They should do the same for Damian Wayne, Darkseid and Venom/ Web of Spider-Man 18 ( Just kidding about this last one. Even I don't think a hand is a first appearance ) You're talking all kinds of crazy
  2. This is great but odd at the same time, this comic is not even the first appearance of the team. Annihilation Conquest 6 holds that honor. Do you think the average collector knows that? Heck, do you think the average comic book reader knows that there are different characters in older books.
  3. I see and raise with: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DMZ-1-22-24-42-by-Brian-Wood-X-Men-2013-Star-Wars-2013-/191030707772?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2c7a51463c http://www.ebay.com/itm/DMZ-1-72-VF-NM-to-NM-1st-Prints-Complete-Set-Wood-50-SIGNED-by-Lee-Bermejo-/201030094435?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2ece53ce63 although, these are for more books than the Red Star auction.
  4. Get a scanner. Why would they do that? Then people would actually be able to tell the actually quality of it.
  5. Avengers #181 is getting out of control. One sold last night for $41 and it was only listed at Fine. http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-AVENGERS-181-Mar-1979-Marvel-Fine-/321308987047?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=JQgoXfDr2W0ZD7BWqE5b7tlrK%252Fw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  6. Todd MacFarlane was the Neal Adams of the 1990s. Let`s see Spawn had movie, video games and animated HBO show. I would expect a rule of 25 to bring the character revival back. Of course Spawn #1 will never be worth much, but those with low print runs have a chance. Don't forget the figures as well, which "spawned" a whole other empire for McFarlane. The early issues will still bring some money if you bundle them. #9 - 1st Angela will also bring at least $5 on fleabay but you can find them in dollar boxes.
  7. The only one that surprised me is Harbinger. The other ones have been hot for the most part. Sheltered last week b/c of the movie announcement.
  8. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it was pretty funny.
  9. SAGA for sure, also Spawn lost some heat for a while and I would assume that put its production into lower than normal runs. Not sure, but if you can get Spawn in the $1 bin I grab them.
  10. TPB is the way to go in that case, or digital.
  11. It's not that hard of a story to follow, there have only been 4-6 characters for a while now. I would rather have a good story that takes a little longer than put out twice a month.
  12. people enjoy bidding...buy it now's are a buzz kill. I just now saw this one: (crosspost) Would you pay $66 for Hulk #181 Universal reprint? http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/itm/400648209827?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT especially when you can get a NM BIN for $20?? http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=161203720036&item=161203720036&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466

  14. It also depends on what else the seller has going. If they have a ton of good stuff and buyers are looking specifically at their goods, not searching for specific books, that can drive up the price. I was watching ASM #317 last night in two places. One seller had a lot of nice bronze & copper issues, but not in the best quality, as was the ASM in question. The other seller had a much better grade copy but it sold for less.
  15. Link? not showing, they all sold pretty much yesterday, I only think 2 or 3 are listed right now.. $5 + SHIPPING http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=X-FILES+CONSPIRACY+1&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XX-FILES+CONSPIRACY+1+GLOW&_nkw=X-FILES+CONSPIRACY+1+GLOW&_sacat=0
  16. Hmm, maybe a fake account pushing this up, unless I'm missing something: ASM #317 - $46.00 with 5 hours to go http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-man-317-McFarlane-Venom-NM-Gem-Wow-/331104074966?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4d17573cd6
  17. So nobody was watching the bidding wars on these NM Walking Dead's last night? http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/csc/tmstratton/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_ipg=50&_since=15&_sop=13&_rdc=1 #4 $82.77 #19 400.77 #27 $228.27 http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/itm/Walking-Dead-27-NM-First-Print-Image-Kirkman-/321289463397?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4ace582665 #33 1st print $23.50 #33 2nd print (blue cover) $305!! http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/itm/321289471375?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT #52 $22.00 #53 $120.50 #61 $51.00 #63 $20.50 #92 $80.00 Seller must have a nice stock because they just auctioned off a run like that on Dec. 29.
  18. Well that's a very broad statement, and thus incorrect.
  19. Well that's a very broad statement, and thus incorrect. People are still looking to buy the Batman RRP ...and at high prices

  21. I wouldn't pay $50 for it. But it's as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it. Shoot I remember thinking that Puma was going to be big, and picking every early-Puma appearance (the first 3 issues or so) out of any cheap bin I could find them in - I probably have quite a few and may need to check some prices. Same here. I actually liked the character, and had hopes Marvel would take him down the path of a larger role. I just hate the name. When do the sidekicks Nike and Adidas appear?
  22. I wouldn't pay $50 for it. But it's as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it.
  23. Someone who just bought a 9.9 for $1400 is banking on it. I hope that person lights their cigars with $20 bills. It didn't go for $1,400, the best offer was accepted at $1,100.
  24. It's a good one to snag for a $1. It could have some potential and for $1 it's worth it. I wouldn't pay much more than that for it though.
