  1. $10=40 close to 100,000 x I like that math i figured with that many zeros, it'd be obvious i was exaggerating. has anyone here ever bought one of MCS's consignment items? i assume they sell some, but i can't understand how. Doesnt the owner set the price they want to sell at, not MCS, when consigning? . I believe so. You ship the book to them also.
  2. Looks like it's similar to a RRP: "This variant edition was only given to major comic retailers as a preview to the first series."
  3. Anyone out there know where to find list of these book market variants? Was thinking that myself. Kind of like the DC Universe editions. Quick search turned up some: Ultimates 3 #1 X-Men Forever Alpha #1 Models Inc. #1 Marvel Illustrated: The Illiad #1 Marvel Illustrated: The Odyssey #1 Dark Tower Born Gunslinger #1 Wonderful World of Oz #1 Amazing Spider-Girl #1 ('06) Amazing Spider-Man #546 Anita Blake: The Laughing Corpse #1 Marvel Super-Hero Squad Ultimatium #1
  4. Wolverine was around before Hulk? (no Foom references please)
  5. Same here. Too "campy" for my taste. Almost all the non-comicbook collectors that I know don't even know who or what a Guardians of the Galaxy is. They don't even know that it's from Marvel Comics! I'm surprised non-comic books collectors even know what Marvel Comics is.
  6. JCS really gets the shaft on these boards, except by those selling. J. Campbell Scott? yup...him and Frank Cavilla
  7. JCS really gets the shaft on these boards, except by those selling.
  8. Marc Millar has had a lot of options as well. So far I'm not seeing any pan out.
  9. I would hold at least till a TV show hits air. Considering how many comics have been optioned for TV and movies, I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of them never make it. Sometimes it's good to sell during the initial rush, since a lot of these books won't make it to TV. Then you're stuck with it. Very true, Iwould then ask what your ROI at this point would be compared wwith it not ever getting made. Did you invest $40 in a slab? You could break even if it doesn't make it.
  10. Yea, there are a bunch of factors that can contribute to an auction not doing well comparatively. Pictures/scans, grade (sometimes listing the grade helps, sometimes not listing a grade and letting people determine on their own is better), do you have other things for sale (if I want to buy something I often look at what I can "bundle" to defer shipping costs over multiple books), how much are you charging for shipping and what service are you using, how much feedback do you have, bidding wars, etc...
  11. What do you mean? List as an auction compared to a BIN?
  12. I thougt ASM #361 (2nd print) was hot too, but I just sold 361-363 plus another spider-man in nm for a grand total of $9.99 plus shipping on ebay. Ebay basically sucks. I did sell a Hellblazer #1 NM- for $23.50 though. Just because you list a book it doesn't mean it will sell for the going average. A lot of other things come into play like what else the seller has for sale and multiple bidders (bidding war).
  13. I picked up a nice lot of modern popular comics at a great price, great packing as well. Thanks Paperheart!
  14. Let's start a thread to hopefully sell some more goodies to everyone. I have over 500 positive feedback on eBay.
  15. I don't have any either, but if I did I would sell them to you for $5. See how easy that is?
  16. I would put my money on this Superior Spider-man Campbell variant. I picked it up for 20.00 That's modern, not copper, and I bet in a couple of weeks when nobody cares anymore about it, you'll be hard pressed to get your twenty bucks back. Jim Jim, you have a couple I can take off your hands?
  17. I still need to grab a slabbed 9.8 #1 before that happens! Not a creator owned title, but Green Arrow #17 is a nice book as well.
  18. I sold a set last week for a pretty nice profit For about $75?
  19. True, I should probably go hang out at my local shop and see what people are buying. Feel free to add you own insights, not just comment on what others have posted. wasn't this a Chris Rocks Pooty Tang reference? Thankfully I can say I have not seen that one. Probably the only Rock movie I haven't, ha.
  20. Feel free to add you own insights, not just comment on what others have posted. No, I keep all my finds a secret Good idea, then I can't raid the comic shop you go to.
