  1. I am new to comics and educating myself on grading. I had one of the websites that does comic restoration recommend it. Judging by your response you don't agree. Quote He was posting some major SA keys in another thread and did post in the PGM for a few and showed SS of the CGC invoice status with grades. I think he did sub those books but the payment requirement is certainly odd.
  2. I'm sorry it's your deal at this point so if you are comfortable with that approach that's what matters. Going to drop out of this convo. Hope it works out well.
  3. Think he's just buying it, he still needs to find the go between assuming seller goes that route.
  4. Looks like you claimed I it, so if he agrees with those terms you are the winner, hopefully .
  5. Honestly, I might, would ask for registered mail and pay all shipping charges up front to minimize the concerns you outlined. Lots of red flags as we know here with this one but just a thought. Would ask the 3rd party to open the box and make sure it's not filled with sand. Everyone was new here once and this is a viable alternative for someone new to selling to get cred if they want to establish a selling history.
  6. Would you be willing to ship this book before receiving payment to a long standing respected board member so they can act as an intermediary and ensure all is in order with the book?
  7. This came in the other day from my SS. Blank box variant with sketch from soon to be named famous artist..
  8. First time looking at thier insta page. Love the ASM 1 in 1.8 for 6k.
  9. Do you know if the seller has other selling venues he uses, such as business website or the like? While not an excuse I have seen in the past sellers who also sell on other sites forget to remove the inventory from eBay if sold elsewhere. If the $300 was a steal for the item I'd be a little suspicious. Sounds like the seller is really disorganized.
  10. Plugged in a few more gaps with issues I didn't have. (Plus a super mystery for the heck of it!)
  11. Agree, glad someone who has a coverless copy ultimately ended up with it. He'll piece together a nice book.
  12. It actually did not come with the coverless Fantastic 3, they listed that seperate. That looks like it completed for high bid of $64 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1940-FANTASTIC-COMICS-ISSUE-1-2-OR-3-COMIC-BOOK-NOT-SURE/312023706284?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  13. That Betty and Veronica was a nice book.. Looked way better than a fine IMO too. Looked to me like an 8.0 -8.5 or better. Someone got a good deal on that one.
  14. Here was an interesting item I was tracking on eBay. It was an auction that was abruptly ended during the final couple hours. I messaged the seller asking what had happened. I received a godfather like response "we were made an offer we could not refuse". Searching the completed history bidding was up to $650 or so, but wonder what the final offer on this was. Neat item but really hate when these are ended early. Would have rather seen bidding play out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1940-DETECTIVE-COMICS-ISSUE-36-COMIC-BOOK-COVER-WITH-PROFESSOR-HUGO/382312536096?hash=item59039a5820:g:B6AAAOSwNWxaMMB3
  15. Congrats to all the winners and thanks to easy rider for all the hard work putting this on.
  16. Yes, same as yours, saw you laid a bid on that one too.
